Lobitz68 got a reaction from dhh3 in Hids in the fog lights
First off, the fog lights throw light EVERYWHERE. Please don't put HIDs in them, they will probably blind pilots in the sky they scatter so much.
I have LEDs in mine, but our fogs don't really provide much usable light, so they are really just running lights that match my retrofit in my headlights. The bulbs I got are great quality, but the oem "fog" lights really aren't fog lights at all. If you want something better, I would suggest changing the housing to one designed as a fog light. They are fairly universal and you should be able to find a number of them at different price points.

I understand your frustration, but an automobile warranty is a promise by a manufacturer or dealer that it will repair or replace defects in your vehicle. Unless you can show that this is the result of a defect (which will be pretty difficult as impact is usually pretty obvious and not a claim that would typically be made when unsure) you're kind of SOL. This is very standard across the industry...
Have you seen the damage? Seems to me impact would show the damage going into the tank whereas if the tank gave out to pressure the damage would be going out of the tank.

You're kind of a douche bag. For someone who doesn't want it to sound like you're bagging on his ride, you sure went out of your way to be a dick. Like you said, not everyone is expected to like each other's taste, but the way you went about it was childish and ridiculous.

Yeah, but does the button see the key??
Mine occasionally isn't recognized immediately, but I have a metal "wallet" that I keep in the same pocket, so I attribute it to that.

According to Metra's website it retains the factory screen... Should work. There are a couple of harnesses you will need to buy as well. Post up your results.

Agreed. You will get a lot better advice if we can see the code. It's probably not a fix that will be hard to figure out if there is a code popping up.

Lobitz68 got a reaction from dhh3 in how to make doors unlock automatically when park engaged?
Not gonna happen... You keep your wife in the back (good idea)??
I guess I usually have kids back there, or other couples. Either way, as soon as someone up front opens the door, they all unlock.

the front doors should unlock automatically when you pull on the handle... Only the backs require you to unlock with the button.

True, but Amazon is full of BS reviews. In fact, I think there is some legal stuff going on around that right now... I also use amazon because you can't beat free 2 day shipping and if there is ever ANY issue, they are beyond amazing to work with.

To rule out the wipers I would remove the blades and take it for a spin. If the noise is gone I'd say that is a pretty good indicator that the blades are your issue. Wrap the arm in tape or something to avoid damaging the windshield.

Lobitz68 reacted to cplmadison in p2002 code and limp mode
im very late replying to you but I have the solution to this fault.
This happened with my 2.0 diesel and you code was permanent and couldnt be cleared even with the Bosch hand held.
What you need to do is this:
Unplug the MAF Sensor (its the one behind the air filter box on the right hand side of the engine)
Now magically there will be no limp mode, drive the car for 10-15 minutes at 60 MPH
Now turn off the engine and turn back on to the ACC position, plug in your magical fault code reader, the code will now clear
Plug back in the MAF sensor
Now you will be out of limp mode and the fault will be gone.
Too late for the OP but might help some others who find this through google

First off, that last line was intended with tongue firmly planted in cheek. This being the internet and you not knowing me from Adam, I guess I couldn't expect you to know that. I should have put a smiley in there for you. Sorry. Secondly, I have been inconvenienced. Having stopped by several times and made more phone calls than I should have had to make to take care of a problem that is not of my making and has cost me my time, which is valuable anytime it's used, more so when I have to call during regular business hours. Thirdly, yes I have had the reason for the recall actually occur about four months before the recall, after which I removed all but two keys from that ring, like any reasonably intelligent person would have, and have not experienced the issue since. But since they're not calling it a "minor inconvenience recall", but rather a "safety recall", I don't find it at all unreasonable to expect it to be done in a timely manner.
