how to make doors unlock automatically when park engaged?

Recommended Posts

Pasted from page 31 of the user manual for your 2011:

Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit

The doors will unlock automatically on vehicles with power door locks if:

1. The Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit feature is enabled.

2. The transmission was in gear and the vehicle speed returned to 0 mph (0 km/h).

3. The transmission is in NEUTRAL or PARK.

4. The driver door is opened.

5. The doors were not previously unlocked.

6. The vehicle speed is 0 mph (0 km/h).

To change the current setting, refer to “Uconnect Touch™ Settings” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” for further information.

NOTE: Use the Automatic Unlock Doors On Exit feature in accordance with local laws.

Not gonna happen... You keep your wife in the back (good idea)?? :yup:

I guess I usually have kids back there, or other couples. Either way, as soon as someone up front opens the door, they all unlock.

Yup. I tried it while I was out driving today. The only 'auto unlock' is when you pull the driver's door handle with the vehicle in park when the feature is enabled. For me I don't want the doors to auto-unlock anyway - and I'm certain that I've gone faster than the automatic lock threshold speed and it hasn't locked - but it might after 10 or 15 minutes into a drive - very strange. I'd prefer if the locks engaged instantly upon putting the vehicle in gear rather than at these random times.

My old Y2K LHS was much more flexible in that regard.
