Journey_SeXT got a reaction from 73Sparkle in Service Keyless System
Hmmm, strange you didn't get the battery low message. Maybe you had a software update of recent and they have it worded differently.....maybe something to get people down to the dealership? Thanks for the feedback HP!!

Shame on your dealer as the owners manual is what they should be abiding by.

Fo' shizzle, so, since you put me on the spot -riiiiight - just ordered the Astro 18+8 brake tool set
Also, since I'm putting a new staggered set of rims/tires on the Mercedes wagon I went ahead and bought me a birthday present: Eastwood fender roller, Dewalt LCD displayed heat gun, Dewalt infrared thermometer. Lucky for me, the aforementioned birthday is close enough to avoid physical harm inflicted by the "better half".
It's better than Christmas. I swear.
PS: Yes, I'll make sure to post all videos/pics of the DIYs

Journey_SeXT reacted to jkeaton in 09 R/T vs 12 SXT
Our 09 was very dependable. But it was the first year of production. Certainly the later years added more features and refinements that make the 09 seem archaic by comparison. I'd go for the 2012. Remember the 09 had those horrid brakes. Plus the door wiring issue (recall).

I have my doubts too on the wrong plug theory....especially in his 1st post he says that the plugs were changed and the problem still persists. I'm thinking another dealership or reputable mechanic would be best to try next.

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from Potlicquor in TSB: Idler Pulley Noise 2011-2014 3.6L
Would the idler pulley be part of the powertrain warranty? I do also have the extended warranty. I would like to get this done but I am not paying out of pocket for it.

You'd stand a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa!

Fronts just press in like normal. Since I do my own brakes and I have 5 vehicles, I purchased a brake tool set off amazon for like $60. It has all adapters necessary to do brakes on just about every car out there.

to start the process of piston retraction.
If caliper adapter was replaced, install caliper adapter bolts (1) and tighten to 100 N-m (74 ft-lbs).
REAR BRAKE PADS
NOTE
There are two different abutment shims. If installed in wrong orientation, pads will not fit properly.
NOTE
If the brake pads have a protective paper on the rear face of the brake pad plate, it must be removed before pad installation.
Assure adapter abutments are free from debris or corrosion. Apply an even layer of Mopar© Brake Lubricant or equivalent to entire area of four abutments PRIOR to shim installation. Install four new pad shims (4).
Place the brake pads (2, 5) in the abutment shims (4) clipped into the disc brake caliper adapter bracket (3) as shown.
REAR CALIPER MOUNTING
CAUTION
Use care when installing the caliper (2) onto the adapter bracket to avoid damaging the guide pin boots.
CAUTION
When removing or installing a caliper guide pin bolt, it is necessary to hold the guide pin stationary while turning the bolt. Hold the guide pin stationary using a wrench placed upon the pin's hex-shaped head.
Install the disc brake caliper (2) over the brake pads on the brake caliper adapter bracket (3).
Align the caliper guide pin bolt holes with the adapter bracket. Install the upper and lower caliper guide pin bolts (1). Tighten the guide pin bolts to 35 N·m (26 ft. lbs.).
TIRE AND WHEEL MOUNTING
Install tire and wheel assembly (1) (Refer to Tires and Wheels - Installation). Install and tighten wheel mounting nuts (3) to 135 N·m (100 ft. lbs.).
Lower vehicle.
Pump brake pedal several times to ensure vehicle has a firm brake pedal before moving vehicle.

We should implement a "get 5 likes before getting any help rule".

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from ChopRod in how to update the navigation
For some reason I thought it would have been like a $39.99 update so when I saw $150 I was a little shocked. I think I'll still keep using my trusty GPS map.

Journey_SeXT reacted to rolly in how to update the navigation
Wow is right! I bought my son a Garmin with lifetime updates for $165.00 Canadian and it has the same features as I have for my DJ navigation system.

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from jkeaton in how to update the navigation
I don't have the factory navigation system but I would imagine updates are done through a cd just like the one sold here: http://chryslergroup.navigation.com/home/en_US/ChryslerNA/USD

No experience with EBC but it is a reliable and trustworthy brake company that will exceed the performance of your original equipment. I totally agree with Jkeaton that they are overpriced but its your wallet and it costs a few $$$ for good performance.

Ebc is good stuff imo overpriced. I had good luck just using Brakebest from my local auto parts store. Anything other than factory is an upgrade.

Journey_SeXT reacted to B4ZINGA in Sirius Radio Subscription
I won't be renewing when it expires in March. I've had it off and on over the years. First in my 03 Grand Prix when I put an aftermarket radio in it. Then again when I put an aftermarket radio in my Special. My Charger had the balance of a 5-year subscription that the previous owner had paid for. Currently I pay $8/month for Google Play All Access, which lets me stream millions of songs through my phone or tablet to the car. I've yet to search for a song and not find it in Googles library. On top of that I can create custom playlists and have access to pre-made playlists powered by Google's acquisition of Songza, which I can then copy to my device and take with me without worrying about data caps or finding an internet connection.
There are only a handful of stations on Sirius that I listen to regularly, so unless they're willing to sell me a 12-month subscription for $50 or less, I'm not interested.

Thanks for posting back JN as that will help many DJ owners. I didn't realize the change until I read the attachment provided below. BTW it was an oil change gone wrong how did you manage to get the wrong filter?

Oh crap. My apologies. That is why it is helpful to you and to us to put as much detail about your vehicle in your first post. That way we are not "assuming" incorrect information. Year, mileage, engine size, even trim level. Did you buy an extended warranty by chance? At any rate, there are several possible causes to your problem as mentioned above. None of which are an easy fix unless you know your way around a vehicle. Unfortunately a dealer visit or if you have a reputable repair shop. Someone with the proper tools and equipment will need to diagnose the issue. Expect to spend at least @$100 for an hour of diagnostic labor. Just for kicks, see if your third brake light us working. I had a Z28 that if the third brake light bulb was blown, the cruise would not work. Have no idea how the two were related. But that's an easy thing to check. Also take a look behind each wheel and see if there is a wire hanging down from a wheel speed sensor. Another thing, is it cold/icy/snowy where you are? Maybe snow/ice is packed around the wheel hubs interfering with the speed sensors. Some things you can check yourself.

Take it to the dealer and have it fixed under warranty.

Journey_SeXT got a reaction from Dee in Goodbye Everyone. I traded in my Journey
DTSGUY,
A car drive is pretty miserable when you don't enjoy the ride. I've been their too.....when I bought my Civic when I got married the love for it faded pretty fast and I got rid of it after a couple of years to get the CR-V which was a pleasure to drive and own. Lasted for 10 years until it was stolen which was fortunate for my wife and I who decided on replacing it with the Journey and we absolutely love it.
