  1. Welcome to the forum. You can not disarm the horn overall but you can turn the horn off when using the key fob and you do this via/thru the settings screen in the radio. Be sure that when you get in the DJ that you are not accidentally hitting the door LOCK button as you get in as this will actuate horn beeps once you close the door.

  3. I believe if your a automotive entusiast or live in an enviromentally crappy air quality (next to a steel mill) this would be the way to go , having said that I apply "Nu-Finish " polymer 2x a year from the day I pick them up and I have never clay barred any of my cars.
  4. I would say that if your not dententing to the "auto" point of course it's going to stop but "not" at the same specific position constantly. It's possible that you may have reprogram the auto up stop point (this was posted in the past) by I believe physically holding the button to down for 1second after it reaches that position then do the same for full up.
  5. Try rebooting the system by disconnecting the DJ battery at negative jumper for 10 - 15 minutes.
  6. Go to this site enter your VIN number and it will give you a printable page(s) of all equipment your DJ was built with from the factory. It's found under "equipment listing". http://www.dodge.com/webselfservice/dodge/index.html?screenName=newVehicle&country=us&emailUrl=goToEmailForm%2528%2527R%2527%2529
  7. Here's another. Manufacturer: FCA US LLC Number of vehicles affected: 112,001 Report Date: January 29, 2016 Issue: FCA US LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2009 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured December 31, 2007, to August 31, 2008, 2008-2009 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles manufactured June 18, 2007, to August 31, 2008, and 2009 Volkswagen Routan vehicles manufactured August 11, 2008, to August 31, 2008. In the affected vehicles, the air bag control units may corrode and fail. If the air bag control unit fails, the air bags may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury. Additionally, the air bags may inadvertently deploy, increasing the risk of a crash. Solution: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the air bag control unit, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Contact: Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is S07.
  8. Past posts on the forum end up being tied to basically 3 causes , switch on steering wheel , clockspring cable or poor cable connection at radio.
  9. I have driven a new Dodge vehicle about every 4 yrs since 1984 and never experienced your problem.
  10. I would think that what ever your using in the center console outlet is the place to start looking - obviously it has an intermittent short. Possibly the DC outlet has come loose in its socket become twisted and is shorting at its source connection.
  11. Even if you then use the steering wheel buttons to switch?
  12. If they move the tire to a different hub and the fault follows then it's the wheel unit either faulty or wrong frequency (MHz). If it shows the fault for the same wheel hub then it would be indicative of a faulty receiver.
  13. If it's a power seat and you can adjust it up and down but not fwd or bkwds then the fuse for the seat must be good.
  14. This was a previously posted concern which was traced back one of the pulleys and if I remember correctly there was a fix , bring it to the dealer.
  15. You must change it in the 4.3 "settings/display/units" menu and not just switch it from the steering wheel when in speedometer mode.
  16. "I'm thinking more head issue than block. At least at first. I've heard of a few first year Pentastars cracking heads." 2011 model only and they sent all owners a letter extending the warranty to 10 years.
  17. If your going to keep spending money on it spend it in the right place. Take it to a competent auto electric shop and have them do a load/current test to see what is drawing down current when the DJ is supposed to be shut off. They have had in the past BCMs (body control modules) cause this problem by staying on after shutting DJ down by looking for fob signals etc.
  18. Good point about second row storage , I have one filled with paper (DJ service records, owners manual and paper maps) while the second holds and emergency kit in a small duffle bag.
  19. I have had over the course of 4-1/2 years of driving my DJ had 2-3 occasions when the 4.3 did not start (blank screen) no big deal , turn ignition off and restart and all was fine.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Road noise of the type your describing is let me say "in the ear of the beholder", what you may find objectionable I may not. Front wheel drive of course you tend to hear more wheel debris versus rear wheel drive and yes the fender liners are plastic like material.
  21. If you have even just 1 sensor in any rim it will still ping , you have to remove all 4 at the same time to get the action bramfrank describes.
