  1. Greetings...just purchased a '16 SE....when stopped, and even though I unlock all doors from the driver switch.....rear passengers cannot open their doors from the inside....even though the lock buttons are up. Plse help...someone must have the answer to this issue.
  2. Greetings....I drive the 2.4 litre......I try to float the "fuel economy" meter with an easy foot....when it's all highway, a/c off, and driving 55-60 mph....I get 32 mpg (US)...
  3. UPDATE: After I complained to Chrysler Canada....they decided, as a goodwill gesture, to pay for the parts (4 rotors, 4 sets of pads) to the tune of $985.00. I think it is a fair gesture....HOWEVER.....it does NOT solve my perceived problem of a deficient brake design (admittedly changed in the 2013 model)....and possible inferior parts. When this set-up fails again (i'm assuming at another 45,000 km)....I hope by then that Dodge has an extended warranty or the wisdom of this forum can suggest better rotors, pads and even calipers for this under-designed braking system.
  4. Does anyone know if there is an extended warranty or any kind of relief for the brake issues on the 2012 or earlier Journey's..???
  5. Thanks for the info....I've been doing a bit of research....and have found that in particular, the rear caliper design prematurely wears out the pads/rotors. In fear of having this happen again in another 30 to 40 thousand km.....what rotor, pad, and perhaps caliper combo would the wise on this site recommend...I'm sure there are superior parts to the garbage that Dodge uses.
  6. Well I was pretty happy with the overall performance of my 2.4 litre journey, until yesterday I started hearing a slight scraping from my rear passenger-side wheel. My vehicle was new , on-the-road in August 2012 and I had a once-over everything in August 2013 before my basic warranty expired..... Well..!!!!! Peel Dodge took off the rear right, then all the tires and declared that all of the 4 rotors had to be replaced, as well as the pads. Vehicle has 46,000 km on it, I drive like I'm a hyper-miler (90% hwy, 10% city)....coast to lights, etc. I'm blown away...!!!! Does Dodge make such cheap and prematurely wearing brakes..?????? Anyone been through this similar issue and remedies from Dodge Canada or elsewhere..???? Anyone's commnets or assistance is appreciated.
  7. I DECIDED TO KEEP AN ACCURATE LOG FOR A RECENT TRIP FROM THE TORONTO AREA TO ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA....... RESULTS: 3070 MILES TOTAL ( 2840 HIGHWAY, 230 CITY)......HIGHWAY AVERAGE SPEED....60 TO 65 MPH........TOTAL FUEL USED: 95.94 U.S. GALLONS (COVERTED FIRST AND LAST FILL-UPS FROM LITRES TO U.S. GALLONS).......NO PASSENGERS, 250 POUNDS OF GEAR.....NO A/C.....TIRES ALL 39 PSI (COLD) 32 MPG (U.S. GAL) OR 38.4 MPG (IMP. GAL)
  8. The only gripe I have is the passive entry system in regards to the rear doors having no power locks.....other than that I find that the vehicle is excellent value for the money and the ride beats all the other cuv's I test drove....I'm about to give it a good 5000 mile test drive.....and I'm hoping to break the 38 mpg (imp) barrier.....another gripe I thought I would have had and don;'t....is the snow traction with the stock wheels and tires....it is excellent...!!!!.....I'm sure the narrower tires with the weight of the vehicle is the key to the good traction I'm experiencing......
  9. Gooday Journeyers.....well I've put 6000 miles (app 10,000 km) on my 2.4 litre, 2012 journey and when I'm over 90% highway, I'm getting 7.6 litres per 100 km and when I'm over 90% city, I'm getting 9.5 litres per 100 km. All above done with an easy foot on the gas pedal and I changed my oil at 2000 km. For my driving habits, the 4 speed auto seems to have its sweet spot at around 105 kph, with it turning at 2200 rpm's (doesn't downshift into 3rd, going up hills) Anyone switched to synthetic oil and noticed a mpg increase..??????
  10. Gooday folks.....2500 km on my '12 with the 2.4 litre engine....just talked to the service dept....they do not recommend synthetic oil till 25,000 km minimum....and they definitely did not recomment 0-20 oil.....any thoughts on these statements.....
  11. Hi Folks.....well I've had my base Journey for a month....two fill-ups.....exactly 33.4 mpg (imperial)...for both....75% highway, 25 city....still can't get used to this fob (without key) thing....anyone figured out the BEST way to keep a fob in the car...so that if all else fails....the valet key will get you in......scenario....have fob with key....battery is dead....you can open the door, but no start as battery is dead....keep a battery hidden in the car..???....I cut a door key.....and keep it in my wallet.....if i hid a fob and battery seperately in the car.....I could get it to go.... I love the ride of this vehicle......wish it had slight better mpg on the highway (coming from a Toyota Echo, 5 speed).....not a fair comparison....wonder about the durability of the brakes....what are people demanding from their dealership.....if within the 3 year warranty..???

    Hello

I'm 6'3".....and I found the Journey driving position the most comfortable....plus the price...!!!! On the road the base Journey was $8500 cheaper....they've been having a fire sale on base Journeys up here in Canada.
