The navigator in the DJ uses both GPS AND dead reckoning (inputs from the wheel speed sensors and the compass data) to determine speed and heading. Most likely there is an issue with the cabling or the navigator, unless your ABS and traction control are also not working properly. A new TGM (the radio module) is most likely in your future. I happen to have a spare available for purchase if that's the case.

No accidents. The right rear side window spontaneously blew out a few years ago and was replaced with aftermarket glass. It has the usual stone chips and such. Brakes are good and there is a fair amount of tread left on the tires. No visible rust. C$14,000 (about $11,150 US) - I might want to pass the transaction through the dealer selling me my new vehicle, in which case I will pay the GST if the buyer is in Canada. - Front wheel drive - 3.6 engine - Heated seats and steering wheel - 5 passenger - OEM retracting luggage cover - 99,XXX KM (about 61,000 miles), so somewhat more than 15,000 km left on the warranty at this time. Hard enough just to swap the 8.4 from a Journey to a 4.3" equipped one. The Cherokee radio is not and never was the same as the one we have . . . so no.

Journeys don't have CVT transmissions.

As I approach 100,000 km and with 8 or so months left on the extended warranty for my '14 Crossroad I guess it is time to do some PM on the transmission. Dealer wants about $360 plus taxes and is pushing for a power flush, but I've heard horror stories about the after effects of those. Though hopefully any issues would show up before the warranty expires in mid-December. $360 sounds like a lot of money for what it is. Those are Canadian dollars, mind you (at today's exchange rates that is US$285). He HASN'T given me a price to drop the pan, clean the filter and refill the transmission, and he claims less than half the fluid will be replaced. So I am asking; Power flush? Or drain and refill? And, is the price he's quoted reasonable?

The Bluetooth module is not flashable. And they weren't going to change the TGM design for a single model of vehicle in its last year of manufacturer.

I certainly have and have had no issues with the various Android phones I have used in the 2 Journeys I have owned. The BT implementation in the Journey is per the standard, which is why good phones (such as the Blackberry series, which is probably the only phone ever sold that completely and properly implemented the relevant Bluetooth protocols) don't have problems. Toss in library-based implementations and a haughty attitude and it is no surprise that The Journey has issues with Apple phones. But I take issue with the claim that there are problem with 'later than Android 6', since my S20, running Android11 does everything properly, as did my previous S9, S7 and S5 phones. I realise that Apple doesn't actually properly implement the Bluetooth protocols (Apple likes to march to the beat of a different drummer in a number of diverse areas), and the blame for the lack of compatibility with the most current iOS versions is proof of that. That 'there is no fix' is because there is no way to reflash the Bluetooth module to change the way it interacts with devices. Complaints should properly be directed to Apple.

They delivered it with a problem - they have to fix it - warranty or not. I hope that the warranty you purchased was from the manufacturer and NOT a third party. You are probably able to cancel it without penalty if it isn't. And chances are you will find the cheapest factory warranty extensions online.

I can't speak to 2013, but my 2014 certainly can. No music details displayed onscreen, mind you. I use Android devices, however - they are mostly closer to the standard than Apple. The only devices I've found that are completely complaint to the BT standards are older Blackberry products. Those were the cat's meow before the two major operating systems took them out.

They offer 2 batteries in that group; one is a cheaper traditional wet cell and the other, more expensive is AGM technology. You can also get away with a group 26 IIRC.

Wow - talk about engineering products to a specification!! Which of the 2 Sam's Club batteries did you have installed - I'm at 2 years with mine - for what it cost, when the border re-opens and as soon as there's a sale I'll drive down and have them swap it out again.

Chances are there needs to be feedback from the mirror to the BCM for it to work - likely a different wiring harness and mirror assembly. If my ride was newer I'd perhaps have invested in this - making the speedo a bit more accurate would have been nice - I assume that the LED setting either adjusts, or disables the current sensors for those bulbs and nothing more . . . .since there's no way I'd put LED conversions in the headlights and nothing else ever seems to burn out, that setting is of very limited utility to me personally. Note to Miguel - if you use the appropriate size tires there is no adjustment required when switching from one size wheel to the other - they have the same circumference.

Fair question; uConnect is the name of the vehicle user interface, which includes the radio, air conditioning, heated seat and inverter controis and Navigation (if you have them) as well as the settings interface for things like the remote start, automatic door locks, headlights and more. Bluetooth is an optional feature. If you don't have the voice buttons on the left side of the your steering wheel, then your unit has no factory Bluetooth. My first Journey had no Bluetooth, so what I did was to put in a Garmin navigator that provided voice activated Bluetooth - the big thing was that I had to manually turn down the stereo when I wanted to use the phone - it worked quite well. My current Journey has both Bluetooth, since the trim level included the feature and the factory navigation - much better integration, but similar functionality.. Enjoy your ride.

Did you also change the antenna? If not, then that is probably going to be a required - unless somehow they put in a satellite antenna into your vehicle. The only other thing is that you'll need an unlock code for the radio once it is installed in the vehicle - take note of the serial number of the radio module and mark down the VIN from your vehicle - those two variables go into calculating the code.

actually there was nothing wrong with the 4 cylinder except when trying high speed passes, and even then it has no problem hitting 90+ mph, it just takes a few seconds longer to get there. One might expect that with the simpler engine and transmission designs the 4 might be more reliable than the Pentastar with the 6 speed. All I know is that my 4 cylinder 2011 never had any problems and neither has my 6 cylinder 2014. Towing a motorcycle? Ride the damned thing and let your wife drive the cage.

As pointed out; Sorry to have to tell you, but that is NOT the OEM camera - unfortunately LOTS of Chinese providers claim OEM status for their junk - this is just another one of them. There are several threads on this board and a number of videos on Youtube describing what's necessary to upgrade to the 8.4" display. In summary, you will need to replace the TGM (radio module) with the RE2 or RB5 (if you want Navigation). If you don't have Sirius now you'll need to add the satellite antenna and related cable to enable that and/or the navigation. The profile of the 8.4 is a bit different from the 4.3 and you'll need to replace all of the bezels for the center stack. If you don't have auto-air now you need to add or replace the temperature sensor (that ball in the center of the dash top) and add the wire for it. You'll need to unlock your new TGM, add the sales code for the backup camera and possibly for automatic air conditioning as well - if you don't the screen controls for temperature won't work. Having said all this, as of 2018 all vehicles have backup cameras - yours must be earlier production; I have no idea what might be involved in upgrading the system to support the camera on the 4.3" platform, but it is likely to be a lot less expensive than doing the 8.4" conversion.

Looks to me like the GPS board has bit the biscuit. There is a service that will 'fix' your unit. I don't recall what their rate was. Search for it.

Bluetooth isn't 'uConnect'. The entertainment system is what uConnect is. Bluetooth is . . . Bluetooth.

If you don't see the more button (behind which is the Travel Link) it usually means that your vehicle is flashed as a Canadian unit - and they can't (or won't) change the relevant sales code if that's the case As to updating the software? I wouldn't bother If the unit doesn't show the 'can't unlock maps' message you probably have a unit that works fine, or which was one of th troublesome ones, in which case it will already have been updated. I leave mine at CTP13 - no reason to put it up to the current version..

It is one of the two connectors identified as #4 - and they are interchangeable, so AFAIK the only real way to tell which is which is to disconnect one of them and see if that takes out the Bluetooth - if it does, you have found the right one. Note, for the sake of being careful it is a good idea to disconnect power before removing connections from the module. It isn't likely to hurt anything if you don't, but one never knows and these things are expensive.
