  1. I'm gonna remove the mirror cap from my current one and put it on the newer mirror, so color doesn't matter for me. Still confused about the code. As long as the electric connector is the same, and the basic functions of turning the mirror around and heated feature work, I'm okay with everything else.
  2. I have a 2015 SXT that needs a passenger side door mirror. It's a 1-touch down mirror, heated, with manual fold-away. Seems like the code is JPD (Can anyone confirm?) There are some salvage yard in the area that have a 1-touch up-and-down mirrors (JP3?) mirrors. Can I use the JP3 in my JPD vehicle? Does anyone know if it is retro-compatible? As in, are the wire connectors the same? I'm asking because I'm not exactly 100% sure whether mine is JPD or JP3. And I don't know if salvage yards label the mirrors accurately. Thanks!
  3. Ah, that's what "Exc" means! That makes sense now! Mine is 2015 SXT
  4. According to Rockauto, a handful of them have the same features, but some are twice the $ as others with identical features. What gives?
  5. In need of right side rearview mirror, but rockauto and Mopar parts giant have over a dozen part numbers listed - 1CE28, 1CE29, 1CE34, 1CE35, 1UD78, 1UD79, 1GE01, 1GE00, 1CE20, 1CE21, etc.... Seems like the 5th digit is "left" or "right" What do the other numbers mean? I'm looking for a heated, powered mirror for an SXT. Redline 2, but color probably doesn't matter, since I can swap the panel trim. How do I know which one to order?
  6. If all bolts are tight, and all joints are well lubed without freeplay... I can't think of anything else. The spring can sometimes rotate a little in the top hat while turning. Perhaps that? Just to rule out the possibility, have your wheel alignment checked/corrected. Or else, check the cradle mounts. Or the cradle itself. As long as all the welds are good, and cracks anywhere else, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  7. Have you checked strut mount top hats? Or strut mount bolts?
  8. I talked to a local CDJR salesman late November, he said that 2020 would be the last year for Journey. Apparently they expect a lot of Journey shoppers to buy Jeep Compass or Latitude instead. And those who need the 3rd row would probably consider a Pacifica or Voyager. So for us, either it's a used Journey, or larger SUVs - Explorer, Highlander, etc. It's a shame that small 3rd row SUVs will be extinct soon!
  9. Fellow Moparheads, need your help again: I am aware of misfire issues on early Pentastars (until mid 2013 I think...?). I believe there were revised heads to resolve the problem. How do I tell if an engine has the revised heads? I'm looking at a 2013 SXT, manufactured June 2013. So I'm not sure if this has newer heads or older ones. P.S.: I heeded your warning and staying away from 2.4L
  10. Thank you all! I have to rethink the 2.4 option then. Was the misfiring issue ever resolved on the older Pentastar engines? Or better question is, how common is the misfiring issue in Journeys?
  11. Hi, After researching and test driving a handful of vehicles, I have narrowed down to a pre-owned Journey. Mechanically I can do anything that does NOT involving dropping the engine or transmission. Also not very comfortable with electronics and electricals. Most I can do with electronics is to replace sensors! I couldn't find every piece of info on the internet - so here is my list of questions. Please be patient! I'm looking at a 2019 Journey FWD with 2.4 engine. Although it's a 4-speed, I felt comfortable enough. How is this powertrain when it's loaded with 4 adults and 2 kids? (I couldn't test drive it with my whole clan) How reliable are the engine & transmission? I can do most maintenance work by myself, but can't drop the engine or transmission. If I keep up with regular maintenance of brakes, oils, etc., how much life can I expect from this powertrain? I heard the 40TES has a clutch pack instead of torque converter. How much life can I expect from them? When they need to be replaced, how easy is the job? I have a 400 lb motorcycle (plus the weight of the trailer) that I need to tow around. Can the Tigershark & 40TES handle this load? What are some common issues/failures to look out for in these SUVs? Regards!
