Take your DJ to the dealer. There is a fix for the radio startup volume issue.

My understanding is the radio is in the dash behind the screen. The screen is just for display. So I don't believe the screen will be replaced. I hope the new radio solves my issues. So far, uconnect has been the only disappointment with my DJ. Crossing my fingers. . .

I still think the DJ looks cooler than most other crossovers. A refresh is probably a good thing though. The thing in the article that struck me is that there may not be any V6 DJs after the refresh. Dunno. Love the 3.6.

Sirius radio went to preview today. Called Sirius. They attempted to resend the signal. No response. Long story short, when the service rep checked the radio ID, no match. Added a security question to my account today. Hope that doesn't continue to happen. $#!7, what next? People suck. They will steal anything.

My kumhos were perfect for 43000+ miles. Smooth as glass. Still had probably 5000 miles left, but I replaced them before winter with Continental DWS tires to get some new tread under my DJ. So far they are good, but need rebalancing after less than 5000 miles. My kumhos were pretty darn good.

I considering upgrading now. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to stuff like this. How good are the instructions? Did you do everything yourself?

Those do look pretty good. How " plug and play" are they? More than 20 mins install time per side?

redtomatoman got a reaction from V6DJ in 283hp versus 305hp?
Does it really matter? I have raced a challenger just for fun. It must have been a V6 because I managed to beat it with two bikes on the roof, 2 passengers, and a third row full of mountain biking gear. Terminal velocity over 100mph. Evidently, there is no real difference between 283 and 305. The only difference is the cocktail party banter? I used to think a tune would be simply bad ass, but now I realize the real strength of the DJ is utility. With a little vinegar mixed in, of course. If you want a challenger, get one. Our DJs won't ever be a challenger. DJs are cooler,IMHO.

I posted some pictures in my redtomatoman photo gallery of adding a grille emblem to my engine cover. It looks pretty cool and adds to the engine dress up kit that I have installed. I used the snap-on honeycomb grille type as that's what I happened to have. If I was to do this again I'd definitely use the push-on type with the metal push caps on the back. I used 3M tape to secure it in place. My initial plan was to drill the holes in the engine cover so that the emblem would "snap" in place in addition to the 3M tape. Turns out the shape of the snap-on pieces on the back of the emblem are tapered and this affected how big the holes had to be so it wouldn't "snap" into place. I had to drill and re-drill the holes until it would fit into place. I hope the 3M tapes holds and stands up to the engine bay temps. Time will tell. . .
It looks clean and is solid today, so I'm hopeful. I'd love to hear comments.
    Peace.

No. You don't need any codes. If you did you'd have it in the manual for use when you needed a new battery.

Jiffy lube is fine if you don't let them do anything except the oil change. My Dakota has 244k and has been to jiffy lube nearly exclusively. I do have a good mechanic though.

8 mpg in a vehicle rated for 19-21 overall mpg? K&N isn't going to help. You've got problem and it needs to be diagnosed by your dealer service center. Best of luck.

Sure. Why not? I talked my dealer down from over $33000 USD to just over 27000 for my 2011 R/T. It took me two weeks, but I got it done. These dealerships still make money. They won't do a deal that is bad for them. Price dickering is a scam, fixed pricing is a scam, driving a new car off the lot and losing 5 grand in a day is a scam. Pick the car you want, get a deal you can live with, and never again discuss it. That's the idea. Everyone loves getting a new car! Enjoy.

I don't work for Sirius radio, I promise. The other thing I really like is a the variety of talk. News, Howard, NFL, sports, NPR are a few of the easily accessible channels on Sirius that I listen to often. Whatever. If you don't want it I get it, but to all those who have the freebee now, check it out fully before you decide.

Never said kumhos were superior or equal to winter tires. I'm saying that the set of kumhos that I had were just as good as any other all season tires that I have experienced. I'm going out on a limb maybe, but my experience with those kumhos leads me to believe that they are a good as any other all season tire. Notice, I didn't say the kumhos are as good as slicks at the racetrack or as good as mud tires off road on a rainy day. Just sayin'. Ha.

I liked my kumhos. They weren't the best tires in terms of wear. I got 42,000 miles out of 60,000 mile tires. I felt that the straight away street traction was pretty good and the rain/snow performance was as good as any other tire out there. Tires depend on driving style. Some people really push their vehicles hard. I think the relatively soft sidewalls on the kumhos were both their greatest strength for some b/c they provide a great ride and greatest weakness for others b/c they flex and wear on hard turns. Some people buy summer tires and expect them to grip in 6" of snow. Not gonna happen. Then they complain about it all over the interwebs. Ha.

Ha! Hockey players are super tuff. What else can I say? I'm just not that tuff. I don't feel like I want to break the ice on top of the lake to swim either. Maybe I hate winter because my DJ doesn't have the heated steering wheel option? Not sure.
    Peace.
