I got Sirius, free for a year, when I bought my 2917 DJ.
It's nice an all, but I can't see paying $15.00 a month just to listen to 3 or 4 stations.
I've got a USB mucrocruiser loaded down with enough music to keep me going for a long time.

Well, if that image with the blank ID has't been retouched, your first clue would have been the missing serial number.

If cycling power hadn't brought it back a replacement radio would have been the next step.

I did not renew my subscription when the traffic (which we don't normally get in Canada, but which I talked them into turning on) was shut down - now I use Waze and with 5,000 songs in the ipod in my armrest, miss nothing.

    Ok, update.

I figured I'd try just changing the bulb to see if that would satisfy my urge to "enlighten my Journey".(see what  I did there?)

I switched out the OEM bulb with a Sylivania Xtravision, link below.

I liked the output, it is much better than the original, but I think it could be better. Thinking of switching them to the Silverstar Ultras, link below.

    Haven't ruled out the HIR's.

well just remember you hear from the upset or pissed off folks alot more than you do from thoes who are happy with their vehicle, the only problems i had with my 2011 was from the undersized brakes and rotors and  false reading from the transmission, then i got my 2014 crossroad and have been tickled pink until about 45k and had a  oil sensor  started giving a false high pressure reading and that was fixed under my max mopar warranty and they treated me quite good on that....

All I can say...I miss the good ole days of almost no electronic controls, minimum sensors, and easy access to everything. I cross my fingers that mine will not have these issues every time I read these posts.

    klingoff,
Happy to hear everything was sorted out, thanks for posting the details.
As bigtsr mentioned, it grows the knowledge base for other members and may one day be the fix they are needing.
    Thanks again!

All of the directions are decently laid out in the owners manual. The pictures, however, leave a lot to be desired.

I have driven a lot of donuts in my time (and eaten even more). I have pushed them far harder than the recommendations written on the side. Though I am no fan of the stock Kumho tires (for the same reasons that others have addressed before) they sound and ride far better than the spare. I kept my speed at 65 on the highway all the way home and on to Discount Tire. Shameless plug here....Discount treated me very well, as always. The tire was fixed for free and installed back on the vehicle. The tire sensor reset within a couple of miles and all is well again. The smooth, quiet ride that was the selling point of the Journey is back.

Well that is what the "volume control" is for for "incoming calls".

"i cant hear who is calling me but they can hear me" is what was posted.

One of the most unread books in the auto industry is the actual car's owners manual, for the car OWNER to read and understand your car. Resetting the headrests is noted in there, in the 2013 owners manual it is noted on page 57 and up. If you don't have the owner's manual it can be down loaded from Dodge.com.

If you are spending the money to upgrade, I would go to the 8.4 myself. I personally have the Sirius option, but am too cheap to pay to listen to the radio. I connect my phone if I really need satellite type radio.

I know just what you mean... If it wasn't for the Dodge forum, looking for tires, and worrying about fishing this weekend, I wouldn't have a thing to do this morning.

Between my crossbars and roof top carrier from Sears (about $180...much cheaper than the Thule ones), family trips are much easier and roomier. I tried the canvas bag carrier, but it felt like a parachute (returned it the day after I got back). Highway miles dropped to about 19 MPG with the canvas one. With the new carrier, it stays at around 23/24 MPG. And I don't need to really fill it completely.

No need to pay a premium price for an overhyped filter when there are other options. Oil filters are oil  filters. Change your oil at the recommended intervals and use the filter of your choice.  Been following that logic for over 40 years now. Never had an issue.

Even my old dumb phone had issues with that USB port.  I ended up putting a flash drive in it with music (works great!) and have a 12V charger in the port in the console.  I switched the fuse for that port so that it is on only when the ignition is in ACC or Run.  Everything stays plugged in, no power drain, I stopped worrying about it.

I bought one from my dealership and installed it the second day of ownership. Seen them on Ebay but don't know if the quality is the same. The mopar piece is pricey but also of very good quality. Easy to install...only 2 screws...you remove the original with the hinged bracket and replace in kind. Just put some painters tape around the front edge of the quarter panel so you don't scratch your paint - removing is a bit tricky.
Haven't seen another Journey in Winnipeg with one...I like having it because it's easy to identify my own car from others. I added it plus the chrome mirror covers which I love, and also some R/T badges on the fenders to make it my own. Sets it apart from the pack...
