  1. With the engine covered under the 5 yr/50k powertrain warranty, have you taken it in to your local dealer? Your car is 3 years old at most so you shouldn't be having these issues. Let them figure it out... and pay for it.
  2. Interesting product. I have a pair of ramps that give me more than enough room to work under the car. Makes it easy to just drive on up, or jack the car up and slide them under the tire. Under $100 for decent pair (or under $50 of your a gambling type).
  3. There isn't anything out there for this, but maybe you can use the picture attached to see the clips and screws holding it in. I would assume you have to pull the entire seat out to get to the lower screws. Take some pics of you do dive to get it done.
  4. Yes Google can help, searching this forum can help, a mechanic can help. You need to give more info if you want more help. Start here...
  5. @probak118 great job getting this all done and keeping us updated. Always great knowing how things worked out.
  6. Welcome to the group... glad you're able to respond to some of the posts (even the 10 year old ones ?). Anyway, good looking DJ.
  7. Isn't it under warranty? Just have them look at it and do the work. I just got some warranty work done on my Ford...$4000, nothing out of my pocket.

    Hi All

    Welcome to the group...
  9. Wish I could be of more help on this, but in talking to my mechanic buddy, he says there really is no easy way. From what he remembers, you have to take off the under carriage (?) to access the PTU. No room otherwise. Keep in mind that this is not from personal experience so hopefully someone that has done it will state differently. Good luck.
  10. It's called the lower valance for the front bumper. It should only be clipped on. https://www.ebay.com/itm/09-18-Journey-Front-Bumper-Lower-Spoiler-Valance-Air-Dam-Deflector-Apron-Panel-/174502923178?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  11. If you want your car specifically, you can put your phone down, turn on the video and drive slowly over it. Don't run it over (feel like I have to say that). Then you can run the video and pause as needed. Not sure what you are looking for specifically. Or invest in a selfie stick. Otherwise, here is one...
  12. From what you posted... that's amazing that those were your only problems in 8+ years. I'm betting the battery change will help with your current issues, and reading through the forum can definitely help with your vent issues. The radio issue, may be the gremlins people talk about in here. Guessing you finally decided to join to get some advise... welcome. The search button is your friend.
  13. As mentioned, get the battery and alternator checked. I assume you got a good price for it and got it checked before buying? Seems like you have had issues from the get go. A fresh battery seems to do wonders for these cars.
  14. @DodgeaWrench great job getting the change done yourself (as I get older and my patience gets slimmer, I would have probably paid). Thanks for the update... let us know if this took care of your original issue of high RPMs? Curious as to how much the fluid affected that.
  15. Did this with a bike i was restoring. My buddy YouTube also showed me how to do it, and it worked out pretty well.
  16. A chance, but slim. I had the same thing happen to a previous car and after a new head, a bit of reboring part of the block (I think that's what it was that they did), and replacing a few other parts that over heated, the car was good. It was that @ $3500 or a little over $6000 for a full engine replace... used at that. Sorry that happened to you.
  17. Just curious, what are they calibrating? I hear them when I turn the car off, and if I sit in it for a few minutes, I hear them once again. What exactly are they doing?
  18. OK... who the hell knew that moose liked to lick cars? I guess I need to get out more
  19. Get your battery checked at the same time. Just because it's 2 years old doesn't mean it is still charging correctly. If it was a bargain battery or possibly a defective battery, you may need to replace... possibly under warranty.
  20. You sound like me a few years ago when I had 5 vehicles in the driveway with only two drivers. We're down to 4 vehicles, with 4 drivers, and after a slew of different cars the DJ has been very good to me and most of the drivers in my home also enjoy my DJ over their cars. Although I do keep looking at the Durango now that the Explorer changed its body style. Only because I'm looking for more towing power. Good luck on your hunt.
  21. Welcome!!! Lots of good stuff in here.
  22. MPG... my latest observation in my area (SF Bay Area - over populated). Since purchased, daily average with minimal highway driving, I get around 15 MPG. I work 5 miles away and most driving is within town so no need to get on the highway. When I go on trips I average 24 to 25 MPG, which I am very happy with considering I am not a Sunday type of driver... typical CA 75-80 MPH on the freeway. Since March (Covid Era) my average has gone up to 17.5 MPG - non freeway, with most people around here working from home. Of course I only go to the office twice a week, but my average has surely gone up. Coming from a 11-12 MPG average van, I have nothing to complain about with my DJ, but would definitely like to get to 29 MPG like probak states (guess I could slow down )
