It seems odd that you mention it still unlocks and locks your doors but will not start it. I know there's a lot backend stuff going on in that little thing, but needing to buy a new one is frustrating. Not sure if you have tried this one, but my mechanic buddy suggested this one. Says it helps on Chrysler cars. While in the car with the doors shut, hit unlock, then lock, then unlock and lock again, and see if it starts. There was a lot more conversation as to why, but it supposedly re-established the connection to the FOB. Hopefully it turns out to be something simple (and cheap), but let us know. Good luck...

I always like to stay with the simplest thing and go from there... - Did you buy a quality battery for the FOB? I bought a cheap battery from CVS, and had issues a week later. Replaced it with a Duracell, one year with no issues? - Did they check the ground connection when they replaced the battery? You get corrosion on the terminals (focusing on the ground) and cars act weird. - Did you get a quality battery for the car? These cars are temperamental, and don't like cheap batteries. If you have someone that can lend you a good battery charger, you can get that tested along with the alternator. - Try disconnecting the battery, then reconnect and jump. If this works, then yes you might have internal issues. I'm sure there are other suggestions coming, but always stay with the basics of you haven't already done so.

Uh...I read most of the manual. You'd be surprised what they put on there. Very informative and nice when you are sitting in the car waiting for the wife or kids. Would avoid a lot of those "Where is the fuse box?" Or "What's this light mean?" type of questions.

So was the problem in the contacts of the switch itself? I had a key FOB that wasn't working and a new one was over $100. I bought a new pad for $3 and boom it worked. The contacts were not connecting anymore. Makes me wonder if there was some corrosion in your switch that made for a bad contact. In any case, glad it worked out and was a cheap fix. Thanks for keeping us posted. ?

I'm waiting for the restyled Journey... it's coming right? Seriously though, I went car viewing over the holidays (Jeep, Kia, Tahow) and scared the heck out of myself thinking about having a car payment again. If I did buy another vehicle, I'm buying a Range Rover for the wife (yeah, I know all the comments). With about 50% down, the payment will be just under $700...ewe.

Asking the same subject...I go an hour out of my way to go to a dealership or of my area for my Ford cars. They aren't as busy (or they're very organized), and they treat everyone very well. Good point made here ?

Have you tried just cleaning the connections? If they work intermittently, it may just be a bad connection.

Pictures, take lots of pictures. That will be helpful in your documenting everything. And it will be well appreciated. Good luck ?

I know the battery was just replaced, but just to check some of the basics, check the grounding connection. You may want to make sure you have a good connection at the ground (not the battery end) with no corrosion or crud. My old truck went through this and after cleaning it really well, it started with no issues.

Well, from what you describe you should start with your battery. Those all seem like signs that it is dying and is putting out very low voltage. The clicking is from your vent doors probably struggling to move and the no start is most likely from the battery being to low to start the car. Get it jumped and go to a parts store that will test the battery AND alternator. I would guess you need a new battery which will take care of those two issues. Assuming you meant 'front' tire... that sounds like your wheel hub needs to be replaced. You can search that in the forum for more info.

Most likely not related. If you get your oil changed, they will most likely have a reader and read the codes for you. If you are more of a DIY type of person and do your own oil change, I would suggest buying a reader.

@Bignosedog, yeah that is a good feeling... you're a top dog when you get the Family car fixed. Little grease under the finger nails and maybe a scratch here and there (I digress). Anyway, glad it all worked out and you did it right. Now go enjoy your DJ!!!

I can honestly say that my third row helped me in a few situations. Plus I hate the price difference compared to the other options out there.

Hopefully it's not the same as my situation, but I had the same symptoms back in October of last year and ended up having to replace the transmission (i was still under warranty). I received that code and a couple others after limping home twice at about 30MPH and it took the dealership about 2 weeks to make the determination. It was a bit of an ugly fight. From what I understood, the transmission was failing and causing that code, and after they changed the sensor it actually got worse. If you are not happy with them, see if a local transmission shop will take a look. Good luck
