  1. Are you asking what brand or what type? Google gives you a ton of choices but if recommend name brand plugs and coils. Stick to OEM and you should be good.
  2. @danyboy are you just asking out of curiosity or are you having an issue with the new battery? Personally, I wouldn't use shims on a new battery. I would get the right size to start with. I've used a shim in the past for an old battery with corroded terminals in order to save money, but ultimately became more of an issue than a fix.
  3. @Sandy a hummm is usually your starter not engaging and just spinning, creating a hum. If you have other symptoms, get your battery tested to make sure you have enough juice. Also make sure the battery is fully grounded and that the connection is clean. From there you can have the starter tested.
  4. Some good and some bad... Went on a trip that was a little over 500 miles. DJ did great for the most part. - Unbelievably, I got 29 MPG, which is the best I've ever gotten. - On my way up the CEL came on when the temperature got to under 30 degrees. Apparently I need a new thermostat... not a big deal, I'll change it myself. CEL got reset. - The bad...I went through a car wash and as I drove off, down a busy street, the car just shut down while doing 30 MPH. I managed to put it in neutral and coast to a stop (brakes were hard 'AF'). Put it in park pressed the brakes, pushed the start button and it started right up...WTF? Got to my location, hung out for a couple hours, then got back on the road. Drove 3 blocks and it completely shut off again. This time I shifted to neutral and hit the start button while moving and it started right up. No CEL and no stall at all. Freaked the hell out of me because I was getting ready to hit the road back home. It was late in the day so nothing was open and of course my tools are at home. Decided to take off anyways worried it would die going through the mountain roads, but it made it home with no issues. I've read a couple of similar issues, but none had a solution. This has happened once before, like 3 years ago, while I was in the car wash. Has anyone seen a solution to this issue? Could something be getting wet and shorting out? Car runs great otherwise, but not comfortable with it just dying on me.
  5. This could be a short in the system somewhere or an issue with the FOB itself. If the FOB got wet, it might be sending a signal without you pushing the button. If there is a short on one of the actuators, it might be causing the remote module unit to think it needs to lock the doors (hence unlock then lock). If the remote module is going bad, this might be your sign. The last thing to check (or the first one) would be the fuse to the remote module. It's cheap, might just try to replace it. We had a similar issue on another car, turned out to be a bad module.
  6. Did you two ( @5rebel9 & @2late4u ) team up to buy the same years? Lol Just did a 1k mile trip on my '15 DJ, and she did great. Still loving mine
  7. I'm at 80k on my 2015, with approximately 65-70% of brake life left. Shocks me every time I get a service and am told... but thankful as well. No squeaking or vibration. Keep thinking my pads are going to outlast my rotors.
  8. I'm not too familiar with cold weather batteries, but instead of a larger battery aren't there other factors to consider? Better quality battery (same size)? Check the connections to make sure everything is clean and making good contact? Oil viscosity? My daughter moved to Oregon where it's been in the teens a few days and she had trouble starting without a jump. On my last visit we cleaned all of the connections, tightened them, and added some connection protection (grease) on the terminals and she's had no issues since. We had replaced the battery about a year ago - with a good intestate battery. Don't bigger batteries cause electrical issues?

    Hello

Hello... new to the DJ family?
  10. @NavalLacrosse congrats on the new car. Hope them deer stay out of your way...?
  11. Mine was doing the same a couple of weeks ago along with the CEL coming on telling me to change the thermostat. Mechanic told me to clear the code and drive it a little longer. He told me it could have just gotten stuck. No code or issue since then - lucky I suppose.
  12. @HeavyHaulSabre welcome (to the dark side apparently)... I've been pretty happy in there myself. If it's been maintained, you should be happy. I'm still really happy with mine - 6 years now. It does what it's supposed to and it does it well. Mine served it's time hauling around the six of us, and now that I'm mostly solo in mine, I enjoy zipping around in it. Congrats and enjoy.
  13. Today I hit another milestone. My girl and I hit the 80,000 mark while towing my new toy. I still love my choice with going with my DJ and she hasn't let me down yet. She's my daily driver, my family road trip car, and my utility vehicle when needed. I did have a P0128 code last week, but then it went away. Apparently that's a thermostat code that is sometimes tripped by cold weather(?). Either way, it's clear for a week now and running great. I hate to hear of all of the issues some people have with theirs, but I thank the moto Gods for getting one of the good ones. I fully maintain her meticulously and will probably do the 100k service a little sooner than recommended. If I ever do decide to take on another car payment, I will have a hard time letting my DJ go.
  14. Good luck to you Tim. Thanks for all of the input and knowledge and of course, glad you are OK after that incident. Hope you do come back with a pic of the replacement car. Sounds like the DJ turned out to be a decent investment for you, hope the next one works out just as well. @NavalLacrosse
  15. Hello Rex, welcome aboard.
  16. Hit the famous milestone and had to make an attempt to get the famous 7's on the screen. Almost had the temp at 77, but ended up being one off. I got stuck in some traffic right at ...75, so had to slow down a bit and then take off to hit the speed - sorry to the dude behind me (I guess all the folks behind me) ? Here's to another 77k ?

  18. Interesting. Do you notice an improvement on performance?
  19. Nice job, good upgrades. What happened to the windshield?
  20. China may have debadged the DJ, but Mexico has kept the name. It's back and actually has a new look... https://www.thedrive.com/news/42589/the-dodge-journey-is-back-in-mexico-baby
  21. If you are hearing a click only, make sure battery is fully charged. Get it tested if possible. If fully charged, a click is usually a bad starter. Was this a sudden event where it stopped starting? Is everything else turning on? Have you checked your fuse?
  22. Whatever happened to a bag of ice? Two bags are cheaper than a new battery... just saying ?
  23. Hmmm...I say battery, maybe, possibly, probably, most likely. When you have to get it jumped... first stop should ALWAYS be to get the battery tested ? Unless you left the lights on...
  24. Your profile shows you have a 2019 model. You should still be under warranty, unless you put a lot of miles on it and depending when it was sold. Have you taken it back to the dealer? 6k over your oil change?!?!
