  1. Did you make a video for everyone? I hear that would help others. Glad that worked out for you... and it was relatively cheap. Did you have to get the sales code added at the dealer?
  2. It's still early. Assume he got it started and is out enjoying his DJ right now. Give him a chance... don't be mean...lmao!!!
  3. www.google.com Tell us what you find and did, then you'll get great help.
  4. Welcome. Most I've seen (as opposed to read about) is 212k. Hoping mine goes that far, considering it got a new tranny last year.
  5. Welcome to the group and congrats to your daughter...lol. Glad to hear the DJ is working for you. I still get happy with mine (4 years now) after driving something else.
  6. I am just curious, not calling you cheap or being mean (some of you will know why), but why didn't you get a factory replacement battery knowing it is a great battery. A battery that lasts 8+/- years would be worth a little more money. I've bought Costco batteries in the past and I have never gotten close to 8 years on them. As far as the OP, go get everything checked... as @2late4u states, "better safe than sorry".
  7. I hear the Subaru forum is nice
  8. Never assume it's something that was just replaced. If you don't want them to investigate the issue, you can get the engine washed yourself and try to find it yourself. Any suggestion would obviously be just a guess. Good luck.
  9. I'm reading all the suggestions, but I don't see anywhere how the electrical is hooked up. Did whomever hooked up your hitch and wiring use the factory connection or did they use an OEM connector directly to your tail lights? In either case there seems an extra step was missed. Call whomever installed it to find out if necessary. If connected to the factory hookup, it needs to get reflashed (your choice where to go). From what I read, if they didn't use the correct connection (there are a couple), out may not work regardless. If OEM connector, you need to make sure they used the proper wiring harness with the resister AND it had its own power source directly to the battery. If you want to check yourself, follow the wiring harness and see if it ends up by the spare or by your left tail lights (usually). Spare tire is factory, left tail light is OEM. When I installed mine I was told I did not need the resistor, but with the LED lights you do need the resister. Figure out which connection you have and you can solve the issue. If you don't do one of those things, the brake lights will not work.
  10. Welcome to the grou... Hope you share some of that knowledge.
  11. @mschmu73 do you know where the bolts were installed? I've lubed mine in the past but the creaking has never really gone away.
  12. Thanks for the update. Out of curiosity, is it the converter or the fuse for the converter that went bad. It should have a fuse at the battery end that you should maybe check if you have kept it connected. Just a thought before you go changing the entire unit.
  13. Oooh... you're right. Well, hopefully you have the 3.6L. Then you'll be fine.
  14. Ask the folks you bought the parts from. Parts stores have that info.
  15. Can you clarify? Are you asking mechanics (and you're doing the work), or are the mechanics actually looking and testing the car? From your video it does not sound like a clicking, but more of a thunking from the engine. This would be a bigger animal than just your charging system. If it is a clicking, it's usually the starter or bad ground (although replaced, it could be bad, or bad connection). If you have been taking it in to a mechanic, do as NavalLacrosse suggests.
  16. I'll admit, I'm just completely confused about what this post is about. Is there a thump under the car or in the engine compartment making you think it's a belt? Would like to help, but not sure how it all comes together - could just be a slight imperfection in the tire itself.
  17. At that weight you should be fine (guessing you have the 2.4). I would also suggest when coming back down the hill to use the Auto Stick function to control your speed. If the hills are curvy, use the function going up as well.
  18. Take a picture of where it comes from... maybe someone can trace it to the other end. Include some specs for your car.
  19. Are you thinking of buying a wrecked journey, or is that your journey that got wrecked?
  20. Welcome to the forum. I haven't had any issues with it, but I'm sure someone can help.

Welcome aboard. Nice to hear of a well running, high mileage DJ.
  22. Nice job. Some nerf bars would add to the black accents. Or even a bumper guard. Anyway, just thinking outloud.
  23. That's great that it worked out for you from some free adviser from that mechanic. Might be nice to tell everyone what he suggested that worked. And might be nice to give him props for helping you in case someone else in your area might want to use him. Always good to hear a positive comment on a mechanic.
  24. Why not delete all connections if your main one (presumably) isn't working. Other choice, call uConnect for help. I've called them twice and they have been very helpful.
