Congrats on the new DJ.  They are sweet SUV's and very versatile.  I too think I would pass on the slotted rotors, just not enough benefit but it's your money.  I'd spend my first dollar on tinting the front 2 side windows but that me.  Welcome to the site!

I wouldn't even consider a 4cyl in my family of vehicles.  They almost never have enough power.  The 4 cyl equinox isn't turbo charged either but is also under powered for the vehicle.  I had a 2010 3.0 v6 equinox and although a nice vehicle, I like the 3.6 v6 in the  Journey.

I'm pretty sure the dealer will have to provide the sales code and install that update.  I did the camera install on my 2016 but I did go through the dealership for everything.  It cost me right around $400 for all I believe.  Works great and can't see having DJ without it.  For me, it was worth just having the dealership do it.  The installation isn't all that hard but from what I've seen, you've gotta take alot out to get the wires ran properly if they aren't there already.  Then the sales code, it was just easier for me to let them deal with it incase there were any hickups.

Also food for thought, if you read the boards, you'll see alot of what seems like many issues for the DJ's.  But in reality, people don't come to the boards to say "i didn't have any issues today".  They come to these for help when they do have issues as well as options and opinions on upgrades.  I've had mine for 8-months now, put on about 10k miles already and not a single issue. I really enjoy driving it and it does everything I need it to do.

    Congrats again!

Lookin good.  Nothing like a fresh coat of wax to make your SUV look good. Invest in the cali duster, it helps during pollen season if you haven't already.

Thats not what the dealership told me but it wouldn't be the first time the dealership was wrong.  Mine is "nav ready" so they say and said $495 to install it.  I'll buy a portable garmin for $100 with life time updates before spending that if it was even an option.

I'd have to say it's due to the fact DJ's havent really seen a full update in quite a while.  I think for the money, they're hard to beat quite frankly.  Most recently I had an Equinox v6 AWD LT2, and the Journey is leaps and bounds ahead of that in almost every area.  My wife and I are really happy with the Journey so far.  The v6 doesn't quite get as good of mileage intown as the Equinox, but on the highway, the Journey does better so it's a little of a trade off.  The Journey is far more exciting to drive (v6 form) than the Equinox.  The Journey has more room for passengers and with the 3 row option, that isn't even a choice in the Equinox.

I'm happy with my choice regardless what those consumer reports people say.

Although it doesn't get used alot, the 3rd row has really came in handy a few times for me since we purchased the Journey.  Most days, the third seats are laying flat to provide a larger cargo area, but I really like having the 3rd row.

Super simple. Disconnect the exhaust from the the hangers. Bolt Holes line tight up to the brackets on the hitch. If you can, use a wire to pull the bolts into the holes. The furthest back bolts should have a shim that guests inside the frame, then tighten all the bolts 100 lbs and your Golden. Reattach the exhaust, Your done. I just added one to mine couple weeks back.

So I've got nearly 1000 miles with the new filter and it's holding 24-26 mpg. I'm pretty happy with the results. I just tooknow a 500 mile round trip and got 26 down and 25 back. 500 miles on a single tank.

So, I recently picked up this 2016 Journey Crossroads AWD v6 and fairly new to this forum.  I drive on average about 400 miles per week between my commute to work and misc trips in the evening.  My previous SUV was a Chevy Equinox v6 awd.  My mileage in that averaged 23 miles per gallon.  The DJ is rated for 24 mpg I think highway but I was only seeing 20-21mpg driving the same speed, same roads.  I've read the complaints about the DJ before buying and seems like alot of people complain about the mpg not being so go.  I too was seeing this and figured its was par for the coarse.  Still really like driving the DJ so mileage is what the mileage is.  Since the SUV has almost 12k mileage on it, I figured I'd swap out the air filter. I personally like to swap them around 10k or clean them at that point if I have one that can be cleaned. I thought I'd try AEM Dry filter (28-20470) in the DJ and see if it helps/hurts/stays the same.  Over the years, I've used performance filters in almost all my cars and mostly used K&N drop in's but since they're oiled, I've been using dry filters that are cleanable.  I have the AEM dry filter in my SRT and saw really no noticeable difference mileage or performance but peace of mind for me that I can clean it and really never have to buy another one.  I pulled the original filter out, and it was dirty, but true be told, I've seen worse.  I installed the new AEM filter, I fueled up and off to work I go.  Instantly I'm seeing 24 mpg running 73-75mph.  So.. fast forward 3 days of travel and a couple local trips and my average is reporting 23.5 mpg!!! Same speed, same road, same trips.  Obviously I'm going to continue to watch it for a while but first impression shows a solid 1-2 mpg improvement.

I'll keep you posted if anyone cares and report back my findings after a couple weeks and fill ups.
