Found this forum after doing a little research on what to expect from my recent purchase. I'm a 30 year old guy from a Detroit suburb, and I was just sick and tired of climbing in and out of my 2003 Saturn L200 (I'm 6'3" with back pain, no fun). I started looking around for affordable SUV's and landed on this Journey in a Ford dealership lot. I've always liked the front end look of the newer Dodges, and I was hoping to find something black, up higher, and relatively sporty. With 18,000 miles on it, heated leather seats/steering wheel, Alpine stereo, one owner and a clean Carfax - I was able to close on it for $16,300. I think I got a pretty good deal! Just posting on here because of excitement (I've never owned a vehicle that was under 8 years old), and looking for any feedback from other owners on their experiences and opinions. Thanks! I bought mine in December and while I did like it, it took some time for me to be able to LOVE it. I say that because in time you find all the nifty little features more and more useful as time goes by. For instance, I didn't really appreciate all the little cubbies until I went to a Jimmy Buffet concert, where I stocked up all the beer and ice for tailgating in the floor coolers under the second row. Also when suddenly a group of 5 became a group of 6 or 7... As time goes by you'll find that it's great at being versatile and adapting to your needs. Plus since yours seems to be within the factory warranty you may be able to purchase an extended warranty (unlimited miles and years) direct from Dodge (well, mopar). I would be sure to check on that as soon as possible because with all the electronics in cars a single repair can easily be the cost of the warranty itself. But in reality, people don't come to the boards to say "i didn't have any issues today". They come to these for help when they do have issues as well as options and opinions on upgrades. I've had mine for 8-months now, put on about 10k miles already and not a single issue. I really enjoy driving it and it does everything I need it to do. Medabum Posted May 22, 2017 Report Share Posted May 22, 2017 Congrats on the new car, and yeah I think that's a pretty good deal considering I bought a new 15 with about the same mileage as you have now for way more than that! Like you I'm 6'2 and this is a comfortable car. Being in Michigan, be sure to turn your heated seats and wheel to auto on upon starting with the outside temp being below 40 degrees. This is a feature that if someone asked "would you like this for "x" amount of dollars?" I would have said NO without even thinking twice. Now that that I've had it and experienced it, I wouldn't have a car without it!. Also, with back problems, its really nice that the new heated seats just don't heat your ass.
