larryl reacted to Summer Solstice in 2013 Journey won't play music from usb thumb drive.
The thumb drive needs to be FAT32 and the files need to be mp3. Sounds like you are already there but need to verify.

larryl reacted to John/Horace in Power Steering Fluid Leak
There was a dealer recall on the leaking power steering lines. Several years ago, search this site. Mine 2014 model was changed in 2018 by the dealer no charge. Check if yours had the recall done yet.

larryl reacted to 5rebel9 in Phone connect
Did you "pair" your phone to the system through the infotainment screen first? NEWER phones have a problem being recognized by the older systems in your year and my '13 journey. SOMETIMES mine will recognize and connect, but most times it won't.

The Blue Devil head gasket repair is probably not helping out at all actually makes things worse
As stated above get someone to look at it soon or it will be a throw away

larryl reacted to 2late4u in TPMS FAILURE
mine did me the same way, drove me crazy for a while as i tried to figure it out and but then it finally went out and I just replaced all 4 TPMS since I had a 2014, that fixed it right away as they batteries were getting low and the shop said the tpm rec module wont act right after they get so low,,,yes it is $$$ but it fixed the problem,,save yourself some $$ from using the parts cannon and just re[place them

You probably shouldn't' delay any of them as they are all pretty important to a safe and good running vehicle??

larryl reacted to 2late4u in Scottski
Most probably in the rubber boot in the left upper rear part of your lift gate, this is a weak spot on dodge journeys for wires to break or short out...look on you tube for videos on how and where to fix broken wires in this spot and please report back on what you find out was your problem and how you fixed it for others that might have a simpler problem..also check out the forum for more info on this has been asked before, good luck and Welcome to the group as well

larryl reacted to luzmina in 2012 dodge journey making engine noise please help
Is a 2.4 engine? if Yes, it sound like bad idler pulley or alternator decoupling pulley. Remove the serpentine belt and start the engine, if noise is gone then you know is any of the 2 choices.

How "good" is your new battery?
Are the connection's good and tight at the battery?

Found this on youtube for you LOTS of great videos and info can be found there,,,,,,,,,,welcome to the group

larryl reacted to 2late4u in Really bad noise
well first you need to find out IF you have AWD or FWD first, if FWD check out youtube videos to see if you have a cv axle going bad or also could be a wheel bearing as well, if you have AWD that opens the door to a lot more expensive problems towards the rear,,,check out the forum under Engine/driveline for more info

larryl reacted to 2late4u in Dent & Leak on rear muffler (Help)
Don't worry about it that small hole you see is the drain hole to let out water created by your exhaust, the dent might just now be the lowest drain spot due to being hit ,,that said it might rust out a bit faster in the next 4-5 yrs but i wouldn't be worried about it just depends on much salt they use on the roads up there.... all journeys leak water out of there...also welcome to the group

larryl reacted to ffavot@gmail.com in Suspension upgrade
I recently installed a pair of Moog front sway bar links. These are greaseable links with a fitment for an 18mm wrench to hold the link in place to prevent it from turning while tightening the supplied nut. The OEM link does not have a place to fit a holder wrench but has a rounded surface so that a pair of vice grips can be used. This process is barbaric and if I had access to an oxy/acetylene torch I would have cut them off. Maybe consider a heavy duty die grinder to cut the nuts too. At any rate, I went the way of the vice grip and it does come off using considerable effort to break the nut loose and do use penetrating fluid to ease up the effort of turning the nuts by hand. The top 2 nuts are removable with an impact wrench, it’s the lower 2 nuts that present the biggest problem. After the installation remember to grease the links. The left lower ball socket grease fitting is in line with the halfshaft so you will need to use a 90 degree service greaser or perhaps a needle greaser to lubricate that fitting. The noise issue I had is gone and I’m happy with the results!
