mydodgejourney Posted August 23, 2010 Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 Hi all, Im just curious as to the ownership demographic of the Dodge Journey who are we all, what do we do for a living etc, is there a "typical" Journey owner ? I will start off by saying Im married, Im 50 years old have a 3 year old daughter and work as a Television Producer and Photographer for an independent Production company in London U.K. I bought the Journey (R/T 2ltr Diesel, fully loaded 'Auto, Deep Sea Pearl Blue) because I wanted a 7 seater that did not look like a Van, plus it carries all my photo and filming equipment with ease. lunch break by a railway siding just outside of Bucharest, Romania August 2010. I am a miner and work in a gold mine in Northwestern Ontario about 16 hours away from my home in Sudbury. I needed a vehicle that was large enough to haul my DJ equipment for the occasional gig that I still do, comfortable enough for the long trip to and from work (although I usually fly), and decent mileage (too bad we couldn't get a diesel in North America). Tiptronic Posted August 23, 2010 Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 Not too sure where to start--Quick history!! 65 yrs old , took early retirement on medical grounds ( Bladder Cancer--all cleared & cured now!) at age 62. Had over 30 jobs since I left school . Divorced 35 yrs ago , havnt seen my ex wife or 2 daughters for over35 yrs. Me & my lady partner have been together over 20 yrs she has two grown daughters , the eldest one lives in Switzerland & the youngest lives just 9 miles away with her 13 yr old son ( My best mate) I have been involved in retail & wholesale management , Security, Motor Trade. I have had Pubs, Clubs , Hotels & Wine Bars, also market trader, Antique shops with my partner, site manager for a large office block complex. Until I thought I would do some thing easy to retire on , I got my PCV Big bus licence & drove municipal buses for Stagecoach for 6 yrs. I then took a job as a Special Needs school bus driver. When I had cancer diagnosed ,I carried on driving for some time , but I needed some big Operations so I packed it all in ....... malnik Posted August 25, 2010 Report Share Posted August 25, 2010 53 yr old living in Suffolk, England. 3 kids this time round, 2, 5 and 12. Married 3 times, (not my fault...its that 'love' thing!), got 10 kids in total scattered over the planet! In contact with them all and their Mothers who when i visit i stay with with! Nomadic by nature, lived in many different places and have been in UK this time 10 yrs which is too long and i'm thinking its time to move on! My wife isnt! I commute to London each day and when i'm on shift i am responsible for keeping one of the Underground lines moving in London. Sometimes in winter i never see daylight for days on end. I guess you could say that as a kid I used to play with toys in the dirt or a sandbox and now i still do I just don;t have to make the noises with my mouth any more... Work has consisted of Communications for 10 years, then Education for the past 16 years. I bought my journey to replace my Ford Ranger Edge, which was not convenient any more for transporting a baby in a car seat. I also wanted something that did not look like a minivan (did those for 15 years), but seated 7 and would haul camping equipment and dogs. My wife loves her Journey as well. Previously we had been leasing vehicles (her's a Patriot, mine a Compass). Our leases were up and she was debating on buying out her lease or purchasing new. She hadn't seen a Journey until we were at the dealership and as soon as she sat in it, she new she wanted one. That would be great. When I was looking around for a car, it was my wife who kept the Journey in mind after we had driven it. It just seemed to be the best we tried out and the extra storage places really sold us. We have over 70,000 kms on it and it has served us well to date.
