  1. Thank FleshWound. Anyone know the location of the external filter. Would be very cool if it's a spin on, like an oil filter.
  2. It's a 2010 but by sealed, do you mean no pan either? No filter to replace? I know that there are completely sealed transmissions out there, my Jetta had a sealed lifetime unit, which was the most ridiculous this I have ever seen. The second the warranty ran out the transmission failed. I hope the dodge 4 speed is not like that, unless dodge found a way to defy the laws of physics. thanks again,
  3. Has anyone done a transmission fluid change on the 4 speed auto? Is there a drain/fill plug or does the pan need to come off? I would like to put in RP Synthetic. Thanks everyone.
  4. For those interested: http://www.canadiandriver.com/2011/01/26/fiat-announces-dodge-based-freemont-for-europe.htm Looks good... would be nice if NA had the turbodiesel option...
  5. I agree with email4walker. The second I noticed vibration (around 8000km) I went out and purchased high grade rotors and did the swap. Didn't even bother with the dealer knowing they would just swap out with the same garbage rotors. Not worth the time. Any of the online stores carry rotors for the Journey, $40-$60 for good quality. Pads even less. It takes about 15 minutes per side to do the work. Remember, every time you get warranty work done, the dealer get paid by Chrysler, in this case they're getting paid to put faulty parts on your car. my 2 cents
  6. Very nice.. thanks a lot Now, just to verify with a different pair of eyes... Fig.50-1705 picture #25 - is this the lcd screen cowl ?
  7. 39 yrs old male, married, 2 year old daughter, 1 more on the way... Have been working at a university in North Vancouver BC Canada as a network administrator for the last 13 years... 2010 DJ SE Canada Value Package 5 seat. Pretty good, cheap ($), transportation.
  8. Amsoil Full Synthetic with WIX filter...10,000km and oil is still clean on the dipstick. poz
  9. I'd buy one in a heartbeat... You now have 2 confirmed orders... poz
  10. I have been searching for this part number for a while now.. even the dealers are unable to help. I have a 2010 SE with the pop up storage bin in the center console... i want to replace with the lcd screen cowl... http://suvs.about.com/od/dodg1/ig/2009-Dodge-Journey/Journey-Dash.-1QU.htm Does anyone know the part # I want to put in my own screen and do the dvd hookup. any info appreciated

    Where do you live?

Vancouver, BC, Canada... where $500,000 get you a nice house only 4 hours outside of the city. 2010 SE Canada Value Edition
  12. 2010 Journey SE 2.4l getting 22mpg around town and 30-34mpg on the highway. I purchased an Autometer Ecometer guage that plugs into my obd2 port and gives me instant mpg, average mpg (car did not come with the information display). The car only has 6000km on the odo, so mpg should only get better. I do have to say that i'm a very easy driver and usually stick to the speed limit. Very happy with the vehicle so far.. no problems...I did however change out the front rotors as I did notice a vibration starting to develop... So for all those who wondered about the rotor issues still haunting the 2010s, yes it's still an issue. FYI, i put on Raybestos professional grade rotors, about $50 each from rockauto. The weight difference between the originals and the Raybestos is quite significant.
  13. For all those looking for a cargo cover... https://www.globaldodgeparts.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getJointLocator&siteid= 215457&chapter=&sectionids=0,51909&groupid=2706&subgroupid=8725&componentid= 28684&make=8&model=Journey&year=2009&catalogid=2&displayCatalogid=0 sorry for the long link cheers,
  14. thanks for the time dp360, that was my understanding as well but for some reason it won't display ECO with the engine on...maybe it has to be enabled as part of Freight/PDI and they forgot...considering my tire pressure at day of pickup was 45psi in each tire I will check with service next time the car is in
  15. From owners manual: ECO / ECO-on (Fuel Saver Indicator) — If Equipped The ECO-on indicator will illuminate when you are driving in a fuel efficient manner and can be used to modify driving habits in order to increase fuel economy. The ECO display will toggle between ECO and ECO-on depending on driving habits and vehicle usage. Press the Odometer / Trip Odometer / ECO (Fuel Saver Indicator) button to change the display from odometer to either of the two trip odometer settings or the “ECO” display. When i turn the key to the on position (engine not on), i can switch to the ECO mode in the display.. However... when I turn the engine on, the option is no longer there Anyone figure out how to turn this on ? Another issue... the express window down feature (press and hold second click (unlock) on remote to open front windows). Is this a standard feature on all models... I have the SE Canada Value Package and can't seem to get this to work. thanks
  16. After getting my new purchase, 2010 Journey SE, home I decided to check the tire pressure... All 4 tires were at 45PSI, the door sticker states 32PSI. Nice to see that my Freight/PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) which cost $1200 is being put to good use... lazy, lazy, lazy.. dealer didn't even bother to check tire pressure. I tend to run a bit over what is stated since 90% of my driving is highway. (35-38PSI)
  17. I have the 5 seater with the attachment points in place... I called the parts department and they have verified that the cargo cover is not an accessory but a replacement part... only $400cdn...lol.
  18. I'm wondering that myself. Found this link... http://www.jeepcommander.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8734 Looks promising...(you do yours first, then let me know how it went...hehe) poz
  19. The last couple of days the car has developed a hard downshift. This only happens 1 time in the morning when i pull out of my garage. It upshifts fine to 3rd or 4th but at the first red light when coasting to a stop there is a very noticeable, hard, downshift at about 20-30km/h. I assume it's downshifting to 2nd? The car is brand new with just under 500km on the odo. Any thoughts? Should I be worried or do you think I should give it a bit of time. Since it's so new maybe the computer is still learning driving patterns. PS. It's a 2010 2.4L with the 4 speed auto. Transmission fluid is right on the money. thanks poz
  20. Does anyone have one of the sliding rear cargo covers they wish to part with. My Journey did not come with one and I can't seem to find one anywhere online. It's not even listed as a Mopar accessory, which is odd. thanks poz
  21. Welcome Wayne, I just got back from SA 3 weeks ago... spend a little time in Margate, Cape Town and Honeydew (west of Joberg). Did a side trip to Ai Ais in South West, way too hot, 48 in the shade, lasted 2 days. The whole time I was there I did not see one Journey on the road. Nice to see you getting the ball rolling. poz
  22. I agree with Sam. I have the 2.4L and it does the job, just, for me and 2 passangers (daughter, wife) I would not buy the vehicle with the 4 cyl. if you are planning on seating 7 passangers or do a lot of mountain driving, you will regret it. Fuel consumption is pretty much bang on to the Energuide figures, 11-13L / 100km city and 8L / 100km highway. I did drive the V6 and there is a big difference, it definitely has grunt, but you will pay for it in fuel, especially in the city. 15 - 18L /100km i'm guessing. poz
  23. I think the list price was $19995 with $500 loyalty bonus (traded in a 07 Caliber) and $750 consumer cash. $18,745 got an extra $500 knocked off - $18,245 + freight/pdi +tax so just over $22000 (never pay the document fee or any other bull$#!t fee they spring on you). Most of my driving is highway, no major hills, by myself. I have a 1.5 year old and my wife is 130lbs, so the 2.4L does the job. I would say max 2 adults, 2 kids, stroller, luggage. The seven seater I would not even try with the 4cyl, it would be a chore. poz
  24. Do you or anyone still have one available... My Journey did not come with one and I don't see it as a Mopar accessory. Thanks poz 2010 Journey 2.4L
