  1. I have a 2016 Dodge Journey R/T and the feature where you touch the door handle to unlock a door or doors is no longer working. When I touch the door handle, nothing happens. Is this going to be a long repair job?
  2. Just an update. I had been covered in the accident by insurance and I upgraded to an R/T because when the dealer went looking for a car, I had asked for a Blacktop, AWD, and a backup camera. He searched around to other dealers and came back with an RT, silver in color, with the AWD and backup camera but not a Blacktop. So I took the deal which meant moving up from a 2015 SXT to a 2016 RT. It is a really comfortable car driving on the highway and has most of the bells and whistles. Yes, I found out that you could get a Blacktop RT but it might have to come in as a special order.
  3. Does anyone have a link where I can get a story about the new "Blacktop" model? I may be purchasing one this week but I know don't much about it. I just like it. Well, especially since my wife drove our 2015 SXT off the road and totalled it. She came out with 1 confirmed scratch on her nose and lots of aching bones.
  4. Could this lead to a replacement for the Dodge Journey? http://europe.autonews.com/article/20150802/ANE/150739955/alfa-romeo-completes-prep-work-on-new-suv
  5. I came across this item tonight ... When it comes to Dodge vehicles, Reuters reports that FCA has also postponed full redesigns of the Dodge Dart and Journey, new versions of which were expected to be seen by the middle of 2016. These two models are now scheduled to receive mild makeovers, and will not be full redesigned until 2019 or 2020. Another bit of news, which will likely sit poorly with dealers, concerns updates to large cars from the Chrysler and Dodge brands, including the Challenger, Charger and the 300. These vehicles were originally scheduled to be fully redesigned by the middle/end of 2018, but are now expected to see replacements arrive in 2019 or even later, sources tell Reuters. 7. Check this out ... where is the "new" journey? http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1028786_2017-jeep-patriot-compass-replacement-spy-shots
  8. I think the Journey needs to be re-styled to some degree and new improvements made for a model to come out in late 2015. Dodge will lose sales if it waits till late 2016. There are a lot of DJ owners waiting for something to happen and we just aren't getting much in way of news. We are simply told to be patient.
  9. You're right ... the only thing I think I'm missing is that flash light by the back hatch ... but I have the 3rd seat and heat in the back that I didn't have with my Crew and I really like the heat in the back.
  10. Thanks for these replies. I don't think I have anything to complain about then. I love the Journey and have owned three since the first ones came out. All were good cars for me, no serious complaints.
  11. I just bought a 2015 DJ without knowing it had touring suspension. Can someone please tell me what the difference is between touring suspension and normal suspension on a Dodge Journey? Is one better than the other?
  12. I traded a 2012 Dodge Journey Crew in for a 2015 Dodge Journey SXT and it seems I went down in the model lines. I still wish I had the 2012 DJ Crew. If Dodge does an update in 2016, and I'm not sure anything is going to happen in that respect, I will definitely update or I maight even trade for a competitor.
  13. Does anyone know whether there is going to be a newly designed Journey for 2016? I cannot find any info on this.
  14. I have had two Dodge Journeys, both V6's and I am planning to trade for a 2016 when they come out. I did try out a 4 cylinder Jeep Cherokee last week but still prefer the Journey.
  15. I want a trailer like the one you have! I have a 1974 Cygnet and it is on its last days. I started putting a tarp over it for the winter a few years ago and found out you shouldn't do that. My unit really smells of mildew now and it's got to go. I will be looking for mirror extensions too.
  16. I traded up from a 2009 to a 2012. Went from an SXT to a Crew. The journey handles well, for my driving anyway, has lots of passing power when I want to use it, and is a comfortable drive. I say it has comfort because I have good support on the front seats whether driving or a passenger. Well, I have to keep an eye open when my wife drives! The only thing is I think my 2009 gave a smoother drive because it only had 17" wheels and the new one has 19" with a lower profile and I think I sense the bumps a little more. Maybe it's just me.
  17. Holy be jeezus ... I hate hearing about problems like that. So far with two Journeys I haven't had any engine problems ... just brakes and they weren't too hard to repair. I worry about what the cost of future repairs is going to be. Good luck with the engine and I hope you get to go on vacation ok, somehow.
  18. I bought a white 2012 journey and for awhile I thought it stood out and then I began seeing white cars and white Journeys everywhere. Now I am thinking of adding some stripes on it taking your idea of trying to stand out a bit.
  19. Hey, you have a great looking vehicle. The chrome really adds to the overall impression of a white van.
  20. A couple of weeks ago I decided to trade my 2009 Journey SXT in for a 2012 Journey Crew. It came with 19" wheels, heated seats, remote start, Pentastar V6 engine, and the usual options that go with the SXT. Many of the settings for heat, radio, telephone, etc. are done by clicking on a touch screen ... computer I guess. I wasn't sold on the color. I've never had a white vehicle in my life.
  21. My Journey came with 225/55R 19 painted aluminum wheels. I kept my 225/65R 17" snow tires and rims from my 2009 Journey SXT and they work well on the 2012 Crew. I am not sure about these "painted" aluminum wheels. Anything painted that I know of usually wears off. Need I worry?
  22. I just purchased a white 2012 Dodge Journey SXT Crew. My 2009 Journey SXT had over 100,000 kms. and I wanted one with the new V6 engine. I've only driven it for 2000 kms. and it has been ok on the road so far. It seems to be more truck-like than my 2009 was.
  23. I just traded my 2009 Journey SXT with 103,000 kms. for a 2012 SXT Crew. My 2009 SXT was the best vehicle I ever owned. No major problems and a joy to drive. I think I was lucky after reading about some of the problems some others have had to deal with. My new Journey is white and was not my color of choice. The dealer had one on the lot and gave me a good deal.
  24. I like the looks of the no chrome. I really like the looks of those rims. Good job!
  25. Still no sign of 2011 Dodge Journey where I live. A friend told me they are definitely coming in this month. From what I read, they are a good upgrade with a new V6 engine and better interior. The main thing I hope they improved is where the coffee cups are located!
