Woah322 reacted to probak118 in transmission fluid change
If it was just a flush you would not be changing filter, you must drop the bottom of the pan. By doing so you also get to examine / clean the magnet that collects and holds any small metallic pieces in the fluid. Plus wipe away any buildup lying in the bottom. The old gasket must also then be removed and a new one installed. Not a difficult job if you have the car raised but does involve a little time and elbow grease to remove old gasket material sometimes. Not sure if $300 is worth it but, it is not simply a flush.

Twice a year seems more like operator error. Replace the components with quality aftermarket parts, not dealer parts. Will last a lot longer as long as you don't keep driving it like you stole it.

CV joints click when they begin to fail. Check the boots for tears. If torn, the oil/grease will leak out, and the CV joint will fail.

Amazing, had 3 Journeys already and couldn't tell the difference between them and now any hopes of change are shot till 2018, 2019. People are going to loose interest in the vehicle if it doesn't change with the times and modernize

Same setup as mine, only difference is I don't like that the wire harness is just hanging there, they make a bracket to secure it better.

When I started mine at Church today, a friend walking by the car told me I needed power steering fluid because he could hear the pump howling. I told him that it was the idler pulley bearing!

I doesn't matter whether you send the card back or not. It's only purpose is to stop the recall notices from coming to you.
That you get them simply means that whoever bought your vehicle hasn't bothered register his vehicle with FCA - his problem, not yours since you probably don't know who it is anyway.
When (if) he ever takes the vehicle to an FCA dealer for service they'll catch the outstanding recall. At least it isn't as if the vehicle is going to blow up this time around.

I already threw the card out, didn't realize I should have mailed it back. I didn't mean to to be funny towards the new owner, meant it more like that I thought it was funny that I didn't get the recall on my current vehicle only one I sold.

There is a card on the notification letter that you need to fill in, and mail back to FCA as you no longer own the vehicle. FCA can then send the new owner the recall. I do not think that the possibility of losing one's ABS deserves an LOL.

Woah322 reacted to DodgeCares in clunking noise in front end on bumpy roads
I think jkeaton is right on the money with this. First, I would do as jkeaton says and take a ride with a service advisor in order to specifically demonstrate your concern to them. If you still have issues after this, I would try another dealership. Unfortunately, if a dealership really can't duplicate what you're experiencing they won't be able to diagnose or repair your vehicle.

Do it yourself. Wheelskins are specifically made for the size of your wheel. They come in an assortment of colors; some 2-tone. You have to sew it on. The kit comes with a big needle and the thread is HD and comes with a coating of wax. Take your time, and don't twist the thread. It will look professional. I have done 3.

I got a heated steering wheel, have never thought about having a cover, at least not in the winter months, would just defeat the purpose

Woah322 reacted to JRodMTB in clunking noise in front end on bumpy roads
I started a thread a while back about the issue we're having with my wifes 2014 R/T. Sounds like the same issue you're having. We've been in and out of dealers 4X with little success. With the help of DodgeCares (who's been awesome), we've had the LH strut, isolator, LH control arm and sway bar bushings replaced. It didn't fix the problem. The only thing that slightly worked was having the isolators greased like crazy, even then it only worked for about a week.
It has gotten better but it still sounds like there's a bucket of marbles when we pull into the driveway and when the car hits certain bumps - the problem is it's not something I can force to happen. It's disheartening because she's got 33k miles on her car (started around 12k) so we're almost out of warranty. We've also heard it on 3 of the rentals we've had, so I don't think it's an isolated issue.
Here's my thread if you want to see it... http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/6440-front-end-clunk-while-braking-over-bumps/

I agree that the overheating and battery are two seperate issues.
It does sound like a blown head gasket BUT that doesnt mean you need a new engine. You need new head gaskets (replace both), check the heads and block, change the oil and filter, BUT you must find the reason for the overheat. A thermostat or bad water pump are very suspect. Check the waterpump while the head gaskets are changed. Id change the thermostat just because your doing all this work and t stats are cheap.
Good luck!

I don't see any relation to the car overheating and having a problem with the battery and starter. Sounds like a head gasket issue but try a different mechanic or the dealer as that mechanic seems to quick to change parts rather then disgonse the actual problem

Woah322 reacted to Dusty256 in Gas Tank
I find this strange , the first thing I would have done is to contact my insurance company . New car or sometimes you hit things (same reason you buy the road hazard warranty on tires ) . Never ever heard of a gas tank just popping open , a lot of testing goes in to gas tanks . The polyvinyl tanks are pretty tuff so you must have hit something with out knowing it .
gas gauge problem is most likely just a loose wire (happens). Just figure avg 20mpg and watch your odometer till you can bring it in .
If I was driving and heard a loud pop , com mom sense would tell me to pull over and see what caused it .

It is not helping that you continue to drive said vehicle with theses issues and find yourself a competent mechanic
