The easiest way I found to add more HP was to put one of these on.

?????? For what? He was just explaining what happened when the ballasts fired. There is a rumor out there that the firing of the ballasts creates an initial power spike that is unsafe for oem wiring...

They haven't used plug wires for some time... They are coil packs (black squares with what appears to be potting on the top). The wires leading to them are much thinner that a plug wire too, so if you don't know what you are looking for it may be hard to see. On the image on the left side of this page (http://www.allpar.com/mopar/phoenix-engines.html) the coil packs are the 3 black squares on the top with the 2 bolts in them...

Sounds like maybe a joint somewhere... Probably easiest to have a mechanic diagnose it if you aren't pretty handy.

This statement really has no fact, just opinion... Fact is that the manufacturer suggest intervals based on engineering and systems knowledge. I can agree doing it more often doesn't hurt, but to suggest that the manufacturer requirements are not stringent enough is really nothing more than opinion, likely not based on anything other than word of mouth, habit, etc.

I believe that if you get a loaner on your own they only reimburse a certain amount per day. Every dealer I've ever had has had their own rentals and I've never had that issue. Warranty should cover it in detail.

Both of my current Dodge vehicles oil change lights go on when a change is necessary... I would get it checked out because it certainly shouldn't go that long... BTW, no manufacturer has an accurate OCI indicator... Its all a guess based on different characteristics of your driving. The ones that give you a "percent oil life" are a gimmick at best.

Agree 1,000%... Use good oil and filters and stick to what the manufacturer requires...

I do mine when it tells me... It is different every time. Oil is always clean coming out and I have no concerns with going 8,000 miles if it tells me it's okay.

I change mine every 8k miles just like the computer tells me to do (+/- a few hundred miles). New engines aren't what they were decades ago. People are just throwing out money by changing it twice as often!

What I don't get is what is getting reset... If the light isn't on yet then there is nothing to reset. I'm pretty confident it will still come on when it thinks the oil should be changed and ignore the fact that it was changed early and that the change interval is off...
A lot of people don't get that the machining processes these days produce vehicles with very tight tolerances and that the manufacturer recommended oil changes are more than sufficient to keep the engine running just fine for a LONG time... This isn't the 60's anymore, no need to waste time and money changing fluids that don't need it.

Same process for the Journey, but if you are changing it early there is nothing to reset. To me this sounds like a nightmare to keep track of, but go ahead and change it if you're really that concerned. I would wait for DJ to tell you it's ready though personally...much easier to manage and well within the warranty requirements.
BTW, the process is in your manual, you must be looking in the wrong place.

I'm going to the meat market after work to see what they've got, but I'm thinking some spares and maybe a couple of fatties...
In case you're not aware of the all mighty fatty, it is basically a mix of ground sausages that are rolled out thin and topped with whatever you can imagine (favorites are buffalo chicken, breakfast, and cuban) and then rolled into a log. The log is then wrapped in a bacon weave and smoked for 3-4 hours. They are then cut into 1" slices and served with whatever other crap is on the smoker.
One of the most versatile and amazing things I've ever made on the smoker. You are only limited by your imagination...
