  1. Hey guys,

@Lobitz68 Thinking about the Morimoto H1 kit with the full size Gattling Gun shrouds.... That head lamp spot for the low beams looks/looked huge! Will have to take a look at it again and get some measurements when the extra set comes in to be sure it will all fit.. I assumed, and we all know what happens when you assume LOL... Going with the XB 6500K 35w HID kit, with the canbus adapter of course... Lots of poorly lit roads around here... Need the nice wider beam and brighter lights... Don't want the really blue lights(or any HID color lights) just not my thing... :) Probably some Diode Dynamics LED bulbs... Cant remember the part number but they are around 120 bucks **sigh**.. Just something to match the headlamps and get rid of the damn yellow, since most people say our fogs suck anyway from what I have read...

The bowls are plenty big, just not as deep as they look. I have Mini H1 6.0's and they fit fine. The 7.0 that is out now is supposed to be the same size, just with a longer threaded shaft, so it should fit just fine. The 7.0 looks like a lot nicer unit too. If you are going to spend that kind of money on fogs, I would suggest the Morimoto XB (type M) LED fogs, they are Dodge specific and fit the factory fog mounts on the Journey.

  2. I might just end up throwing an aux. lamp in the high beam, something powered by high intensity LEDs that can turn night into day with the high beam, and run on lower power as DRL that I can wire up myself and not have to bother with the dealer. My project will start in February, after Xmas and my cruise are paid for and my credit card is able to relax lol.

TRS has some small flood lights that may work... It doesn't have dimension listed, but in comparison to the plug on it they look fairly compact. They aren't cheap though!

  3. Yeah I already googled it and thats what ended me up here where I wrongly thought I might find the answer but that was stupid of me to think I would find any useful info on the internet, almost as much of a waste of time asking a question here as it was to ask a mechanic at the dodge dealer.

The answer is clear as day if you googled it... do you often feel the need to have others validate the info you already have, or once in a while do you make a decision on your own like a big boy? Coming here looking for help and then acting like an ass hat isn't going to get you any help; not sure why you are surprised by the responses. I actually tried to help rather than attack (which was my first instinct after your pissy school girl remarks) and you still have an attitude. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

  4. Welcome to the forum. I put halo/projectors in my Nitro, but could never get used to the weird cut off and blue tint at the top. I took it to my Dealer's Body Shop to have them aim them. Didn't do much to solve the problem. I'm keeping the stock housings and may change to a whiter bulb.

The cutoof and blue colr along the top can't be aimed out... The blue line is caused by the shield inside the projector. Interestingly enough, that is the look most people are after when they put blue or purple HIDs in their vehicles. They mistake the flicker of color for the light being blue, when in fact the light is usually a shade of white.

  5. I agree that the overheating and battery are two seperate issues.

It does sound like a blown head gasket BUT that doesnt mean you need a new engine. You need new head gaskets (replace both), check the heads and block, change the oil and filter, BUT you must find the reason for the overheat. A thermostat or bad water pump are very suspect. Check the waterpump while the head gaskets are changed. Id change the thermostat just because your doing all this work and t stats are cheap.

    Good luck!

    Couldn't agree more. This^^^

  6. As far as the gas gauge, after another week in the shop was told needed new fuel pump, sending unit and float assembly. Seems odd to be changing all that now with only 6k miles

Wonder if it got damage during the impact... I didn't want to start at the beginning of the thread and I don't remember all of the details from the first time I read it, was this happening before the tank was damaged?

  7. I can be the first this weekend tomlet us all know if we can use the 6.0 in the highbeam spot. ProbBly really tight and might not fit. My 7.0 are on the way and from.my accident I have an extra set of headlight that I can tinker with now. I am using the panamera LED DRL shroud with a switchback behind it. Don't want to many lights on this one. Want it clean looking

Post up your results... Was thinking of throwing my 6.0's in the high beam bowl.

  8. Never got into hunting, which is odd since I live in sportsmens city in a sportsmens state... My old man didn't hunt, so it never got passed down. I do however enjoy drinking and shooting clays (don't worry, I where ear protection :)). A buddy of mine in town owns a winery/apple orchard and has a big lot. We will go over there and someone will launch they clay pigeons with a hockey stick while the other shoots. I am actually getting 2 sports in at once that way!

I do enjoy shooting though and have contemplated purchasing a firearm to go to the range with or out in the sticks where it is legal to discharge a firearm.

  9. I am using a harness with a large capacitor inline to absorb the PWM signal that the vehicle gives. The pulse width modulation doesn't give a steady 12 volt signal to the relay which will cause some relays to open and close rapidly. Basically, the signal will pulse from a lower voltage signal to a higher voltage signal constantly. I also have a resistor wired in on the passenger side to avoid light out warnings.

With the relay harness are you getting them to work at all?

The harness I have is the Mopar specific harness from TheRetroFitSource.com and is built well. I purchases the resistor and a plug for the passenger side separately. There are some relays available that will operate on less than 12 volts too, which may also help.

  10. Well I love that my brand new journey has really low miles as in 378k/m as of right now.

The nice new car smell but I'm already missing my 09 dodge journey SXT because it was fully loaded.

One of the things I am not liking about the new one is the 4.3 screen in it. I was hoping to change it out with a after market DVD olayer but turns out I can't.

Other then that it rides nice sounds great love the dark interior and not the light gray color the 09 had haha.

I will for sure be adding all the extras my old journey had over time and will post updates and what not in the right section on the forums.

So the way I am reading this is that you have the 4.3, correct? If so Metra (I think??) has a kit to put in an aftermarket stereo. Look into it...

  11. If your fluid is that low check your pads. Brake fluid doesnt just get used up. When your pads are new, the fluid will be at the full mark. As the pads get used up, the caliper piston stays further out, lowering the level in your master. If you are below the low mark either 1 you may have a leak or 2 your pads need replacing. Adding more fluid wont really hurt, but will make a big mess when your brakes get done. If you dont know about brakes, take it to a trusted garage and have it checked. Not something you want to mess with if you are not familar on how to do brake repairs. Good luck!

Good point... That warning isn't just telling you that your fluid is low (assuming that's what it is), it is telling you it's time to replace the damn brakes! Let us know how it shakes out.

  12. A brake warning light will fail. That is a problem with the braking system itself. ABS wont. At least not yet. ABS is still an option on many vehicles and, until our wonderful, bloated government mandates ABS, they can't fail you for something that is optional.

ABS isn't mandated and rear view cameras are (about to be)?? That seems odd.
