cskmom got a reaction from dhh3 in Lo and Hi beam replacement bulbs for 2014 CVP
Does this mean you will require a kit to make it fit?

Hi guys......
I can't seem to find the previous thread where advice was given as to why not to purchase Sylvania silverster, and instead go for a Mopar HI R something?
Reason that was given is that the Sylvania version is no better than the factory lights on the 2014 CVP??? I want the cheapest option possible for brighter lights to be used for Winter driving. I am in Canada
Thanks

cskmom got a reaction from dhh3 in Sneak Peak....DJ 2014
Hello folks.....update to this car Canadian Value Package
- Had another driver go into the side of me last December. I haven't fixed the driver side (mid way / bottom part) door yet
For Winter Tires......what size options do I have to replace the tires in the pics for Winter driving? 17" are expensive and I don't want to spend a lot of money as I am on a budget.
- If I was to buy just two for now, where should the 2 be installed?
Thanks

I'll like to thank you again for suggesting this.....I found something out later on, if you buy the extension and it's not the Grey one like the actual rack, it won't fit...strange how they didn't just make it generic
Here is a pic from today, I like how I can lower the rack to reach the boot (trunk)

Hypothetical question.....why do people go out of their way to put emblems and names of a a manufacturer on a car that wasn't given to them for free? I can understand if you won the car and have to do free advertising for them
I see this a lot...someone will write dodge in big letter on the back window of a car.....I can bloody well see that.
One of the first thing I did was rip off the licence plate holder the dealer put on the car

In here in Ontario, they have now introduced fines close to $300 as well as demerit points for distracted drivers.
Honestly though, it's stupid to still see people texting and talking on their phone whilst driving.
My question to those that do this....if a distracted driver kills a member of your family, how would you feel?

The camera installs over the top of your licence plate.....am not going to post my licence plate up if that is what you are asking. Different cameras can be used with the lcd screen. Again...the camera is in the link provided to give you an idea of size

Before install the directions are garbage so look at them once and toss it. It's a pretty simple connection though red= positive, black= negative, green= brake line & the other is obvious video. Installing the back-up camera was of course easy: unscrew the license plate boom your done. Camera power cable just taps into your rear power line from the lights: Check voltage: and run the ground to a good spot and your camera is done. Running the wires was not too much fun but still not too bad just invest in some zip ties to secure the line. Of course mounting the unit on the already there mirror is easy. You sort of have 2 choices on the power: either go with an accessory line as long as you get 12 volts, below that equals a crappy picture. Or you can run the power to your battery and have the choice to turn it off and on every time you get in and out of the car. Please connect it to an ACC power line it will be so much easier. I just ran the ground under the dash where there were other ground wires: easy. Okay got the easy stuff done. Hardest part: Location of your brake wires. Luckily it's usually black and pink. And if you're lucky and have a trailer set up you can just connect into that line under hood or dash and good luck under the dash. Connected my video cables and battery put my ignition in the start position without starting the motor: put her in reverse and boom a nice bright view behind me in the Day Light. After snugging everything down and double checking everything to be on the safety 3rd side it was time to give it a test. During the day it works great and I have a nice clear picture behind me. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't have a too good of a peripheral vision to my right or left but it is acceptable. -

cskmom got a reaction from Journeyman425 in Bloody Well Excited
It was my Birthday last week, and I will be picking up the 2014 Dodge Journey CANADIAN VALUE PACKAGE / SE recently purchased this coming Saturday.....I have never owned a car off the ground before, and my current car is a 2006 hatchback bought brand new with almost 200k on the clock. (the driver side windows does go down, and I can't see which station am choosing but can play cds and listen to radio).
I ordered the following to be put on: Cargo mat, mud flaps and hood bug deflector.
Mod after pick (same day): Window tints....15% all at the back, 20 in front. Interior lights changed to Blue LEDs
Later Mods: Hitch, roof racks (not sure which one yet...but will like cheap budget ones)
I am glad I didn't pull the trigger on the Honda Civic I was close to signing on, sales guy was very pushy. I have always wanted a "bigger" car due to the fact that I grew up in Europe with "smaller" cars and roads. I looked around at the Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan etc...but came back to the Journey for practicality sake. My toddler will like it and road trips should be fun.
I am sure the US boder agents will appreciate too because now I can roll down my window as opposed to opening the door to give them my NEXUS card :-) Might take it for a spin down to Syracuse over the weekend.
***I'll post pics after
Open to suggestions, advice etc from you lot
Cheers
PS: Don't let the username fool ya, am actually a single dad in his 40s. LOL

cskmom got a reaction from rolly in Any issue on the new Journey 2014 ?
May be the OP does not have the 4k upfront to throw at the SXT......additionally, you can always add stuff to your car after the fact. I pick up my CVP next week, and it was a choice I made based on just me and a kid (half the time). I'll be having it tinted immediately to a % I want, deflectors will go on and other mods will follow. I already picked up a portable dvd player 9" at BB to strap to the headrest
Will also be getting a backup camera installed

cskmom got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in Any issue on the new Journey 2014 ?
Wow....you sure don't have anything good to say about these value pkgs do ya considering you haven't personally owned one, and your only journet is a 2010 sxt? Has it occured to you that perhaps it's just your neighbour who got a lemon or abused the car to cause some fo those issues? For a an ordinary family with just one kid on a budget, the Canadian value pkg could be a nice starter cross for them
Cheerokees have their own problems, and it can be read in teh folloiwng link
