  1. The A/C will come on to cool the car when needed if it is set for Auto. Don't forget to check the rear climate settings; if they are not synced to the front then it might still be producing heat for the rear of the car while the front zone is trying to cool it down.
  2. It is perfectly safe to drive. The AWD is disabled when that message is showing. It may even be off on your next ignition cycle, but it should be diagnosed at your convenience.
  3. That is sooo nice! I can't believe Dodge does not sell every one of these that they can make. So cool looking!
  4. These meets are loads of fun, I have heard. My friends over at the 300M Club have been doing it for years and the pictures they post always look like a good time.
  5. Welcome to the Forum and enjoy your new Journey - looking forward to some pictures.
  6. Can't say I have an all-time favorite, but "Got To Get Better In A Little While" by Derek and the Dominoes gets my fist pounding on the steering wheel while the speedo needle hovers around 90 or so...
  7. The software level and feature content varies between model years and trim levels. This is why there isn't a blanket upgrade to correct certain performance issues with electronics. And not everyone experiences issues with their electronics. Mine have worked perfectly since day one, but since I work for a dealer I updated my software to the latest release anyway since I had the disc and a few minutes to kill while waiting for my youngest son's baseball practice to end. You can check if your 8.4/8.4N software qualifies for an update here: https://rsur.extra.chrysler.com/rsur/Uconnect.do
  8. This TSB came out a month ago - the issues that it is designed to correct are listed. 9. Any software updates to the 8.4/8.4N are done via CD's which are sent to the dealers as needed.
  10. Some dealers add them while in inventory and place an additional invoice next to the Monroney Label (window sticker) showing the extra charges. I should have clarified that there will be extra charges listed. Often times these extra charge items are negotiated off the price to make a sale. But that may explain why some people had cross bars attached to the rails when they took delivery. Cross rails are a US Market Mopar option on current models.
  11. Checked your VIN, and just like every other 2014 I've checked, I cannot find a sales code for DRL. I don't understand it. When you go to your dealer on Tuesday, ask them to do a vehicle scan and see if there is another way to enable them. I would expect them to do this as a courtesy to you since you've only had the car for two weeks, yes? Please keep me posted. I've been wanting to hook up one of our 2014's in stock and see for myself, but there simply has not been any time for me to do that.
  12. There is a sales code which corresponds to DRL in US model Journeys. Even though the option is there on the radio to toggle them on and off, they will not work unless the sales code is added to your vehicle's code database. Adding the sales code is a three minute procedure, then the car's software has to be reconfigured before the new code will be recognized by the car. It's like when you perform Windows updates to your home PC. They don't take effect until you restart your computer. A vehicle reconfiguration is just like a computer restart. It only takes a few minutes to do. Most dealers charge for it. If you have a good relationship with your selling dealer, they *may* do it for you at no charge.
  13. Roof rails are standard on certain US models, but the cross bars are optional. Some dealers simply add them to the car while in inventory; this would explain why some of you had them on the car at the time of purchase and some did not. They never come standard from the factory with cross bars, at least not in the US market.
  14. D1 is a code assigned to a particular vehicles' production status. "D" means that your car's order has been put into the system after passing edit (making sure what was ordered is still available and was done correctly) "D1" is a step closer - it has been placed in production sequence which means now they can estimate when it will be shipped from the factory. "KZ" status means invoiced and released from the factory. That is when we start getting psyched for delivery If you would like to provide me with the VON, I can give you updates as well.
  15. What is your key fob's proximity to the car when it is parked in your driveway or parking space? Normally, you must have the fob within five feet of the car to unlock it with the door handle.
  16. There is an engine coolant temp sensor -there are two, actually, on your 3.5. I reviewed ECT diagnostics and cannot find anything to support a no-start due to ECT input.
  17. Amusing to me, because we tow a small pop-up camper. I used to tow it with my 300M and all I could see through the rear window was the camper and nothing else. Now with the Journey, I can see clear over the top of it and behind as well which certainly instills a lot more confidence! Like yourself, we love the car more and more as the time passes and the miles accrue (now 16,000 and 10 months). Also like yours, zero problems. Driving to see my folks tomorrow and I'm looking forward to the 100-mile-each-way drive almost as much as the visit itself!
  18. That's a good-looking Caliber. The 18" wheels and tires really make a difference.
  19. Did you go to the car wash this evening, and if so, was the leak repaired?
  20. My feelings about keeping my Journey clean are well documented on this forum! http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/4855-i-have-an-obsession-with-cleaning-this-car/
  21. I re-checked tonight and yes, your dealer has reported the car sold and in your name. However, I do not find a sales code for your VIN in the database. I'm seeing this pattern for 2014 vehicles. There must be a change in the configuration for this year that I am missing. Please see this thread: http://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/5509-drl-for-my-2014-journey/#entry35424
  22. Debra, this is fantastic news! And wow - a Citadel along side your beautiful new R/T. An enviable driveway, for sure. Your story has come full circle. Now enjoy the car as you have deserved to do all along. Armand - stay positive. Chrysler is building a good product and as long as your dealership takes the time to properly diagnose the source of your leak, it will get resolved. It is imperitave that they water test the car and find where the water is coming in. With a brand new car like yours, I can almost guarantee you that either the glass panel is not properly adjusted or the seal around it is allowing too much water past it. It's really not old enough to have a clogged drain unless there was some type of extenuating outside influence during assembly or shipment which allowed them to become restricted. Not likely, though. Please keep us posted.
  23. I checked your VIN, rolandgregory - there is no sales code listed in your options group for me to add DRL. I'm starting to see a pattern here, though. I've checked a couple of 2014's for people on this forum. All the 2014 VINs that I have checked have no DRL sales code to add. I got curious and checked one of the 2014 VINs in my dealer's inventory. Same thing, the sales code does not exist. Googled Arrigo Dodge down in West Palm (HUGE dealership) - they still have six 2013 Journeys in stock. Checked a VIN from their inventory and sure enough - for the 2013 VIN there is an option to add DRL. Started poking around on DealerConnect (proprietary site to dealers) for technical info or changes regarding DRL. Nothing. Went on the sales section of DealerConnect and built myself a nice 2014 Journey Crossroad ( I would LOVE to have one of those!) and found that DRL is listed as part of the Popular Equipment Group. Reluctantly deleted my order I played with the configurations a little more. The system still allows me to start an order for a 2013 but won't allow me to submit it. I re-built my personal 2013 Crew. Popular Equipment Group apparently is included in the Crew model. There is a standalone option box for DRL but it cannot be selected on it's own. I assume then that's why I was able to just reconfigure mine so that the DRL's work. Now, I'm not drawing any conclusions here yet, but I'm beginnig to think that in order for a US Journey to have DRL may have to be ordered from the factory (U.S. models) with the PEG if it does not already include it, and then get them configured once they are built. Never mind. I just went back to the SXT in my inventory and checked - it has PEG and yet I can't add the sales code to the VIN. So much for that theory. OK folks, I have no idea why we can't turn them on at this point! I'm on this post about an hour now and I have to get some sleep! I think the only thing left to do is to try connecting one of our in-stock SXT's to the Wi-Tech (our diagnostic computer station) to see if I can configure the car's DRL to come on. Not sure if/when I'll have time to do that - we'll probably have to try that once one of them is sold and comes in to be prepped. Sorry folks - I'll keep you posted when I come up with a factual answer!
