  1. I'm wondering if any of you consistently have lots of passengers in your Journey and how that's working for you. Much of the time, I am alone in it. Other times it's just hubby and me. But a time or two a week I have 3 or 4 grandkids in it, and yesterday we had 6 adults. I volunteered to ride in the back as I am the shortest. The ride in the back was fine, but getting in and out of it is hard. Maybe that's more a sign of my age than trouble with the car. Times like these I am questioning my sanity in getting rid of my larger Buick Enclave.
  2. Guess I need to look and be sure the cord isn't getting pinched. Along these lines, my hubby plugged in his iphone in his 2007 Jeep, and it works the same way as it works in the Journey. Took us long enough to figure this out:)
  3. Ok, you've lost me when you talk about plugging your phone in under the dash. We tried plugging our in in the cigarette lighter thing, but then the phone didn't work. I wish we could plug it in on the dash-is kind of cumbersome to have it plugged in the center console. I nicely called our sales person at the garage and told hm we finally got the phone to work in the car. I thought maybe what I've figured out will help someone. He told me no one at the dealership knew it would work that way if plugged in. I haven't looked at the music situation yet, although we did ask Siri to play a certain artist from the phone and it worked.
  4. Dhh3- were you the one that posted a link to a car phone holder that goes in cd slot? I read that somewhere-but can't find it again. We got a vent holder las night, not sure I like it though. One of the big perks of this is that I'll be able to unplug my phone, go in the house, and it will actually Not still be connected to my car:)
  5. Oh my gosh, dhh3, you have made my day! My phone and car and now doing what I want them to do- all it took was plugging in the phone to the USB hub in the middle! I can use the navigation on my phone,I can say Hey Siri- and send a text. I can play music from my phone. I'm just in awe! We've had this car 18 mths, and none of those things worked. For fun, I used Navigation on my phone to get me to the store- just couldn't believe it worked. Called hubby and told him to come out of the house- he had to go for a ride with me. I have an IPhone 6, IOS 8.2. I need to see what My Gig is. Thank you so much!!! Would have been nice if my dealer had a clue about this!
  6. I'm wondering if anyone here has a phone that works properly in their Journey. We have a 2014, with the 8.4 screen, no navigation. Maybe our expectations are too high, I don't know, but it's frustrating. I saw another poster state that they use navigation on their phone, and the directions will come over the car's audio. Mine will not do that. The audio won't come over the phone or the car. Many times after over been in the car I look at my phone and see I've missed a call. The phone is still connected to the car,and no sound is on my phone. I have to go in and disconnect it from the Uconnect to hear calls or texts. On occasion I've tried sending a simple text in the car by talking to Siri via the car's audio. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I also have calls drop on occcasion in the car. Hubby had it happen the other day. He feels strongly it's the fault of the Uconnect, not the phone. He took the phone off Bluetooth and didn't lose the call again. All the time he had a good signal on the phone. Would any of this work better if I had the phone plugged in to the USB port when in the car? Thanks in advance for any input on this. The dealer has been of little help.
  7. I'm assuming the climate control works like my last car in regards to air conditioning. If I have it set to Auto, will the A/C come on automatically to cool the car if needed? I don't need to push the A/C button? It's been a bit warm the last few days, and as I turned the temp down, it didn't seem to cool much. Just thought I'd make sure I'm understanding this. I'm learning it makes more sense to ask here, than to get our the book or ask the dealer:)
  8. I have no idea why Seri is now working... Course, I could swear to you that the daytime running lights didn't work a while back, but they now do, arms I can't explain that either. A few more of life's mysteries.
  9. I don't know how I got 2 identical posts here... I spent some time talking to the Uconnect people today. My radio is an 8.4- does not have nav. She says my radio will never do texting. I did at least get it to allow me to talk to Seri on the phone today and make a text. I don't really ever txt while driving either, nor do I want or need to, but it just bugged me because I thought it was supposed to do that. I do use it via Bluetooth to make and receive calls, and it loaded my phone book just fine. It is what it is....the next time i get a car I will study the radio/ Bluetooth situation better. Thanks for the input!
  10. What I meant to say was it appeared to us that the Durango radio was more sophisticated than the Journey radio. We've been studying things about the Uconnect system online, and the impression is given that the Journey radio can be used to send and receive texts. I'm wondering if this is so...iPhone or android? I'm not a Starbucks kind of gal, I drink cheap convenience store coffee, for whatever it's worth. I do like techy things that work, though.
  11. We're frustrated with how the radio and iphone don't work together. Mistakedly drove a Durango before we decided on Journey, and that radio did more with iPhone. Issues- can't control the music on iPhone at all. Only is capable of playing music, you can't choose which music. Can't text. With my old car, I could tell Seri, by pushing the iPhone, to send a text. Can't do that on Journey. We called Chrysler once and asked if it would ever work better, got nowhere with that. Any ideas? We can make phone calls fine though. That's something,I guess. Other than this, I love my Journey. This really isn't that big of a deal. It just feels like a step backwards, though.

  13. I do drink coffee in it, and for the most part don't let the grands eat or drink in it. Actually, the black carpet shows the dirt more than the light leather.
  14. Gonna try the pic again. I can't remember ever liking a car as much as this one...well maybe my first new one:)
