  1. 2/4/6 are on the driver's side, which is the head that goes bad. More than likely it will need replacement. Your plugs aren't due unti 100K miles. How many miles on the car now?
  2. Quoting almost verbatim from the warranty guide - tires are the only item not covered by the New Car Limited Warranty, and are covered by the tire manufacturer themselves. With 23,000 miles now on my Journey, the OEM Kumho Solus KH16's (225/55/19) are still every bit as smooth, quiet, and balanced as they were on day one. The car tracks straight and true with absolutely no vibration. I've rotated them twice and have never had to balance any one wheel. The current tread depth is at least 6/32" (they were 10/32" new). Barring any road hazards, I'm on track to go 40K miles on these before replacement. We'll see. I have read about all the problems people have had with them and have expected the worst, but I've been very fortunate, I guess. None of the problems I've read about have materialized thus far. I've always loved Michelins and both my 300M's wore them as OEM tires, but if these Kumhos continue to wear and perform as they have to this point, I would replace them with the same ones again, no questions asked. Very satisfied so far.
  3. I honestly do not know. Electrical wiring and schematics is not an area that I am trained in. The wiring specifications and their intended uses are not explained in detail in the manuals unless that specification directly pertains to a diagnosis. Otherwise, just the wire color, its intended path, ohm value and pin connector location are given as that is usually all that is needed to trace a problem.
  4. Hello again - Sorry, but no luck. The sales code LMK which is needed to enable the DRL is no longer present for 2014 models. No one at Chysler has confirmed this for me, but my belief is that LMK is now an option that can only be added/configured at the factory if the code is selected as an extra-charge option when the vehicle is ordered by the dealer. I have seen some 2014 DJ's with LMK in the Options field of the build sheet, as opposed to the Dealer Added Options field which is where it used to be found when added by a dealer. Sorry that I couldn't help, and yes that would annoy me to no end if I could not enable/disable it as the manual instructs. It's like a tease.
  5. Sure - I'm happy to at least give it a shot for you. I've has no luck with 2014 models - there's been some unexplained (to me) configuration change on US models, but I'll give yours a look.
  6. There have been transmission software updates along the way. Yours may need an update. I also have a 300M (two of them, actually) and they shift more smoothly and predictably than my 2013 Journey. I like the extra ratios but the action is a bit abrupt or busy. I have learned to live with the shift quality but it is the only performance characteristic of the vehicle that I don't care for. Intermittently inoperative cruise control is also a common issue. Most times the root cause is traced to the steering wheel switches. We keep them in stock at my shop for this reason. Not just DJ, but Grand Cherokees and Durangos as well.
  7. Wow, that is beautiful! So, did it come with the 110V power outlet?
  8. Well, had my first problem with the Journey today since we got it. Went to enter an address in the Nav screeen and got two messages - "Can't Unlock Maps" and "No Map Data Available". Scanned all the modules at work - no fault codes. Reset the radio - no change. Re-installed update discs that I used last spring - same. Contacted Chrysler - i need a new radio. Amazing to me since everything works normally except that my map data appears to be corrupted somehow. I figured that I could re-load the maps onto a memory stick and download them into the unit, but apparently I have to replace it. It's for this reason that I bought a Lifetime Maximum Care service contract. I'm not worried about the engine and tranny failing; it's the damn electronics!
  9. I'm the same way, guys. My 300M is running testament to the benefits of frequent oil changes. Every 3500-4000 miles and it does not smoke at start-up and uses maybe a half quart of oil in between. 292,000 miles and the engine is quiet. The Journey is the first car that I ever used synthetic oil in. Every 5000 miles I change it - way more than needed, I know, but I just can't let it go longer than that - even though I tell my own customers that it's no problem to do so! Interestingly, the oil change reminder came on for the first time at 9500 miles. I now have 22,700 miles and it has yet to come back on again. I haven't found any discussion about how the interval is calculated other than it being a complex algorithm that takes multiple factors into consideration to produce an oil change message.
  10. I am not finding a sales code for Auto Headlamps. We've never added the switch to a car that didn't have it. Restoring the configuration might pick it up but it also may be tied to the body controller as well. Did you have remote start added to your DJ? There is a Mopar Accessory Kit which adds remote start and supplies you witih two new key fobs which contain the remote start button. When the kit is installed in your DJ, the sales code is added by the installing technician and then a restoration is done which picks up the sales code and enables the remote start system. Your're very welcome, by the way. I wish I could have enabled your DRL for you. I've contacted Chrysler three times regarding the matter and have still yet to be given a firm answer on the matter. It *appears* to me that sales code LMK for DRL has been relegated to the factory only. In other words, when the vehicle's options are programmed at the factory, LMK can only be added then and no longer by the dealer. I assume this is done so that DRL can be sold as an option when the car is ordered. I don't know if this is factual or not, but I can't see it any other way and no one at Chrysler has been able to say affirmatively either way.
  11. It's tough. I've done it twice and the time goes by so........slow...............
  12. Your Journey is in Buffalo now. Still has dealer ETA of Wednesday.
  13. At least your battery is fully charged!
  14. Mine is also FWD. Our pop-up camper weighs 1200 lb. dry. With all our gear, bikes and the family we're probably over 2000lbs but the car handles it with ease. Much more responsive and stable than towing with our 300M, which wasn't bad but you definitely felt it. The Journey never feels burdened in any way. It remains responsive and controlled despite the load. It feels like it could tow a lot more, which is nice - never feels like it's near its limits.
  15. Check the parking brake pedal to make sure it is all the way up. Try gently pulling up on the pedal to see if it moves toward you at all. Then, check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir before you drive it again. If it is low, call roadside assistance and have it towed to the nearest dealer as there may be a leak. If the fluid level is full and the brakes feel normal, then it may be an indication issue only. Schedule an appointment to have it repaired - this should be a warranty matter.
  16. The engine will not shut off unless you turn it off. The only exception to this involves the remote starter, which runs the engine 15 minutes and then times out. Otherwise, the engine should never shut off on its own unless done so by the driver. To do so otherwise could shut it down while driving, and that could have disasterous consequences as I'm sure you can imagine.
  17. We now have over 22,000 miles on the car and the brakes feel exactly as they did when it was new. I'm very impressed. No vibration, no pulling, no fade. My 300M is equipped with the Performance Handling Group which includes stiffer calipers and higher friction pads. They stop the car well but usually by 20K miles there is some noticeable vibration. The Journey's brakes just feel more powerful and are smooth and quiet. I know about the issues they've had in the past (my customers have let me know that in no uncertain terms!) but I think I can say that Dodge has put those issues to rest.
  18. When I copy and paste from the dealer website to this forum, it kind of jumbles the info together - must be a copyright issue - sorry. I tried to save the image to my desktop and then load it to Photobucket but that didn't work either. Hope this helps somewhat.
  19. I have to say that I'm kind of mystified by the number of complaints on the audio system. I find the sound to be clear, articulated and relatively natural - with the right source material. My biggest disappointment was with the quality of the satellite radio. This is my first experience with it and the quality is terrible, but researching the issue about compression of satellite bandwith has answered that question - not that I'm happy about it, but at least I understand. But, with a CD or with my phone connected via USB, I find the sound to be quite excellent. If I had one complaint, it's that it won't play loudly enough - there are times when I really want to crank it up but the output is electronically limited. I'm not one to drive an amp into clipping, but let me have the option of doing so rather than blocking it altogether. Now, about the wiring connectors - try this: AMPLIFIER-RADIO C1 Harness Family: Body Cavities: 40 Color: NATURAL Gender: FEMALE Part Description: 13592526 Engineering Name: Mod_Audio_Amplifier_12_Ch_8_Ch Connector No: D3804A Option: Standard Available Views: Location View Pin Circuit Wire Color Gauge/Size Function Option 1 Z908 BK/GY 1 GROUND 1 Z908 BK/GY 16 GROUND 1 Z908 BK/PK 16 GROUND 2 D467 GY/DB .35 CAN(+) PRIVATE BUS FOR AUDIO TELEMATICS 2 D467 GY/DB 22 CAN(+) PRIVATE BUS FOR AUDIO TELEMATICS 3 NO N/A No Connect 4 X51 DG/DB .50 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (+) 4 X51 DG/DB 20 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (+) 5 X52 GY/DB .50 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (+) 5 X52 GY/DB 20 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (+) 6 X53 DG .50 RADIO LEFT FRONT AUDIO (+) 6 X53 DG 20 RADIO LEFT FRONT AUDIO (+) 7 X54 GY .50 RADIO RIGHT FRONT AUDIO (+) 7 X54 GY 20 RADIO RIGHT FRONT AUDIO (+) 8 X298 GY/LG .80 AMPLIFIED RIGHT I/P SPEAKER (-) 8 X298 GY/LG 18 AMPLIFIED RIGHT I/P SPEAKER (-) 9 X299 GY/YL .80 AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) 9 X299 GY/YL 18 AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (-) 10 NO N/A No Connect 11 NO N/A No Connect 12 A931 RD 1 FUSED B(+) 12 A931 RD 12 FUSED B(+) 12 A931 RD 16 FUSED B(+) 13 D466 GY/YL .35 CAN(-) PRIVATE BUS FOR AUDIO TELEMATICS 13 D466 GY/YL 22 CAN(-) PRIVATE BUS FOR AUDIO TELEMATICS 14 NO N/A No Connect 15 X57 DG/OR .50 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (-) 15 X57 DG/OR 20 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (-) 16 X58 GY/OR .50 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (-) 16 X58 GY/OR 20 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (-) 17 X55 DG/BR .50 RADIO LEFT FRONT AUDIO (-) 17 X55 DG/BR 20 RADIO LEFT FRONT AUDIO (-) 18 X56 GY/BR .50 RADIO RIGHT FRONT AUDIO (-) 18 X56 GY/BR 20 RADIO RIGHT FRONT AUDIO (-) 19 X208 GY/DG .80 AMPLIFIED RIGHT I/P SPEAKER (+) 19 X208 GY/DG 18 AMPLIFIED RIGHT I/P SPEAKER (+) 20 X209 GY/OR .80 AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (+) 20 X209 GY/OR 18 AMPLIFIED LEFT I/P SPEAKER (+) 21 NO N/A No Connect 22 NO N/A No Connect AMPLIFIER-RADIO C2 Harness Family: Body Cavities: 28 Color: BLACK Gender: FEMALE Part Description: 175966-2 Engineering Name: Mod_Audio_Amplifier_12_Ch_8_Ch Connector No: D3804B Option: Standard Available Views: Location View Pin Circuit Wire Color Gauge/Size Function Option 1 NO N/A No Connect 2 NO N/A No Connect 3 X301 GY/WT .80 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 2 (+) 3 X301 GY/WT 18 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 2 (+) 4 X206 DG/LG .80 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (+) 4 X206 DG/LG 18 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (+) 5 X295 GY/DG .80 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (-) 5 X295 GY/DG 18 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (-) 6 X390 DG/BR .80 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 1 (-) 6 X390 DG/BR 18 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 1 (-) 7 X202 DG/VT .80 RIGHT FRONT SPEAKER (+) 7 X202 DG/VT 18 RIGHT FRONT SPEAKER (+) 8 X201 GY/VT .80 LEFT FRONT SPEAKER (+) 8 X201 GY/VT 18 LEFT FRONT SPEAKER (+) 9 NO N/A No Connect 10 NO N/A No Connect 11 X391 DG/WT .80 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 2 (-) 11 X391 DG/WT 18 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 2 (-) 12 X296 DG/GY .80 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (-) 12 X296 DG/GY 18 RIGHT REAR SPEAKER (-) 13 X205 GY/LG .80 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (+) 13 X205 GY/LG 18 LEFT REAR SPEAKER (+) 14 X300 GY/BR .80 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 1 (+) 14 X300 GY/BR 18 AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER 1 (+) 15 X292 DG/YL .80 RIGHT FRONT SPEAKER (-) 15 X292 DG/YL 18 RIGHT FRONT SPEAKER (-) 16 X291 GY/YL .80 LEFT FRONT SPEAKER (-) 16 X291 GY/YL 18 LEFT FRONT SPEAKER (-)
  20. Went to Hither Hills again last week in Montauk, NY. Wonderful time with the family and I really like how well the Journey handles our pop-up camper. It never feels overburdened in any way, not even close.
  21. I don't think so. 115V outlet is standard on Limited and R/T. I checked your build sheet and don't see it. You have all the other outlets - one ahead of the shifter, one in the center console, one on the back of the console for the middle row passengers, and another in the tailgate area on the driver's side.
