  1. Ok. Well let us know how difficult or easy the install is. Make a vid if you can. Maybe I'll just go with the nav-tv set up if I can't find the used 8.4 complete. Either way, good luck Frank, I mean.. Ts1608. 😉
  2. Same thing with 5th, 4th, and even 3rd. The car can roll on 1st or 2nd, but won't roll on higher gears. If have it on 4th, and come to a complete stop, the car will down shift itself to keep from stalling. Then as you roll forward, the car will step thru its gears to 4th. It may roll off of 2nd, but it don't start on 4th. That's what am saying. It's more of a gear limiter. You can still have a little fun by downshifting. But it's far from manual.
  3. Everything is relative. If you're in a contract with a carrier, it's going to cost you 699$ for another iPhone. Not the discounted price. I would never pay that much for a cell phone myself, I'd wait till I'm done with my contract. If I want more features from a car, I'd replace it when i can.
  4. My friend... I have both of these cars parked right outside of my house. They are even both white. You can tap + a million times, if the car is not ready to be in 6th gear, it will NOT put the car in 6th gear.
  5. I think we're all getting into that APPLE update mentality. The fact is simple, it wasn't available in '11, and now it is. The LED tail lights were not available in '10.. Did they get the shaft? Sure, maybe they COULD add it as an update, but that's not how business run. No one had heard of updating phone software until apple did it. Even still, other manufacturers only update minimal details when android OS is updated. Btw.. I hate having to use an iPhone, it's a company phone, free is always great, but an android would be better. Just in case anyone decides to call me an apple fan boy.
  6. It's an auto downshift stick. You can demand it down shift, but you can't demand an up shift. Kinda works like a gear limiter. It won't up shift from what ever fear you have it on. Same on the caravan.
  7. Both. I drive an '11 grand caravan. My wife drives the '12 journey with the 4.3
  8. You're right s universal cam isn't directly compatible, that's what the lock pick is for. Provides cam in, front cam in, video out, ect.. It's simple enough if you're confident. I am. Nav is built into nav radios. RB5 is the radio code I believe. It's just software. I have the 4.3s. So it's wired with a sat antenna already. I also have the voice command option, so I'm also wired for Bluetooth. I'm in no rush, besides, what I really want is the back up cam. Nav is ehh.. My iPhone gets me better driving directions and it's faster to use than any car nav I've ever come across. I've pretty much taken my 11 caravan apart several times, installing numerous upgrades. All you need is time.
  9. Yeah 2k for each car is way too much for me. I'd rather source the OEM 8.4 nav radio and put it together myself. Actually that's what I'm doing. 😁
  10. so ALL freemonts in Spain have this happen to them at random times??
  11. I'm s very patient man. I'd be upset. My wife is -30 on the inpatient scale. She'd be furious if this was happening to her new car. I mean, that's why people buy new cars instead of used ones. To avoid problems with cars. That radio is outright broken.
  12. So.. How much for the kits?
  13. No. I think your car has an issue. Take it to the dealer if you're under warranty.
  14. The only real advantage over air is that nitrogen is dry. Compressed air is very moist, and most compressed air tanks hold a lot of water that can make its way into the tires. That causes corrosion on the tire press sensors.
  15. The most simple solución is the córner parking lights. You're already outside of the cabin. You don't want to go in to come back out. Then again, I'd also do a switch since I bet there might be a time when you don't want them on. Like when you're coming up to police check point.
  16. That's actually the reason for torque steer. And you'll only see this on a FWD car. The AWD journeys shouldn't have any torque steer.
  17. What do you mean? I've bought tires from eBay b4. Good tires, my bother in law now has that car, and they are holding good after 1 year. Yellow sea brand. Wait.. Are the tires used? 195 for 1, or for all 4? 4 tires for 195$ is too cheap. Even in my cheap ass eyes. LoL.
  18. I'd put some covering over those wires. Get some zip ties and keep them straight and tight. Looks like you're got big sound. I'm still trying to figure out how to put a bazooka on my grand caravan without messing with the stow and go's. Trunk is full of work stuff.. I'll tell you something else though. I like your ranch. Nice
  19. Yup. No manual gearbox here. Only a 4 speed auto on the gas 2.4 4 cyl, and the new dodge 6 speed auto with the gas 3.6. No diesels on this side of the pond even. Good luck getting your DJ fixed.
  20. I guess what I meant to say was how is the RT (awd) different from other SXT AWDs and crews AWD. The dealer specified that the RT was different.
  21. Oh yeah. I know that recall. Effected the 09-10 grand caravans too. Made the ignition kinda crummy IMO. But I guess it's better than your car shutting off. That rubber ring they put in it "feels" cheap.
  22. How does it sound? And what's your set up look like? I USED to be big into large 12s boxes. Those days are gone. 2 kids, one in the way, no room to give up for the sake of sound.
  23. I second that motion. The 3.6 is a really strong engine. They've finally fixed some major bugs on it. So I'd say jump in. Make sure you get all the things you want on it as adding features in the aftermarket can be expensive if available at all. I was able to get a 3.6 AWD SXT with Bluetooth and 3rd row for around 24.5k in late may. Wife loves it so far. (except the gas, we went from a 4cyl sonata to this).
  24. That Chinese radio looks interesting. Except you loose all vehicle info/menu and AC controls.. Bummer. You can add the back up cam to the 8.4 but not the 4.3 unless its the nav-tv. And that's a pretty penny just for back up cam. I don't think u can add nav to your existing 8.4 either. The software isn't loaded, and I don't think they sell it. Your best bet would be to search for a used journey radio WITH the nav feature, then add a generic back up cam with the lock pick. Or the nav-tv with nav. Again, a shiny (really shiny ) penny.
