I was looking into removing the headrests to have some embroidery done and after many questions and warnings, I gave up. Seemed too hard to me with the sensors and wires. I would recommend taking it to the dealer as my understanding is the headrest and airbags can deploy. Good luck.

I get it. Its just a suggestion, but really?!? A Hemi? Torque steer would be horrendous. And, why not save some money, buy a Hemi Durango, and go on a 2 week cruise with the money you saved? I like the DJ more than the Durango, but a Hemi Durango and a 2 week cruise is cooler. LoL.

My 2011 R/T averages about 26mpg US on the highway. Everything is a series of tradeoffs. For extra horsepower, all vehicles trade some efficiency. That's a fact. I like the DJ's power when I need it. The trick is finding the perfect combination that suits you. The other trick is finding that perfect combination in a sea of confusing marketing. Car buying is not easy.

I have been using the spray-on turtle wax after about every other wash and it works great. Just spray it on and wipe to a shine. Great stuff. I currently use the bottle of green cream turtle wax about every 6-8 months for regular waxing duties. Seems to do a good job. Is the Ice liquid supposed to be used in place of traditional wax or like the spray wax after washes?
Your DJ looks great BTW. I really love the Mango color. I wish the R/T was available in Mango Tango for 2011. It was available for other trim lines, but not R/T. Anyway, I got the Cherry Pearl instead. It looks great too.

redtomatoman got a reaction from rolly in Fuel Economy
The fuel economy on my 2011 increased significantly after 8000 miles (12,800 km). I wouldn't do anything until after the engine is broken in and you have had a few warm months to really see what the score is. Also the winter formulation gasoline is not good for economy. I think I agree with your dealership's advise. Good Luck.

Thank you Journeyman. DRLs are finally functional. I can turn them on and off through the touchscreen. Love it. Not sure why you were able to do this and the service department at Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque couldn't accomplish it on two different occasions. Thank you again, sir. You are a hero and a gentleman. If I ever meet you, I'll buy you a beer.

DRLs work. Thanks again Journeyman. 4 wheel alignment fixed the right side wander. The shudder is still there. Quite minor. I'm assuming its the tires from other's experiences. Not going to worry about it.

Make sure the vendor will take vendor will take a return if it does not fit, but I believe that 11-14 are all the same. A quick call to a dealer parts department will get you the part numbers and you can compare.

I'm not sure about other vehicles sitting higher. You may be right, but the DJ has nearly 8" of clearance. Pretty good for a "car". The question as to why Dodge would not lift the DJ further from the factory has a simple answer. On the same lot where the DJ is sold is a whole fleet of Jeep vehicles, all of which are intended, at least partially, for varying levels of off road use. There is no reason to equip the DJ for off road use. The aim of Dodge recently is to get back to its muscle/performance roots. While the Pentastar is no Hemi, it does give the DJ some muscle. Dodge is leaving the off-roading to Jeep and the top luxury for Chrysler.

I get it. No one can know everything. BUT, Chrysler, as a company, has a responsibility to either KISS or be sure that their employees are up to speed. Why eliminate text functionality from any vehicle? Why have an 8.4AN and an 8.4N anyway? Just make all the top tier systems the 8.4AN or whatever. Of course there is a place for differing component levels, but make all the 4.3s the same and all the 8.4s the same. Uniformity is simpler than trying to train employees about the differences. That said, it wouldn't surprise me to find out that there's a reason for the differences, but from a consumer's POV, more functionality would sell more cars. It does not seem that adding or subtracting a feature would cost Chrysler much at all. Sometimes its one simple feature that is the most important. I don't really need the text feature, but it would be nice. For another DJ buyer it may be the difference between purchasing a DJ or moving on to the next vehicle on their list.
Anyway, I feel your pain in all the education. I get it all the time at work. It seems like you do quite well with your continuing education. Thanks again for clearing this issue up for all of us on the forum.

Finally. Someone who has an answer to this question. I have spent hours updating and monkeying around with my phone only to see this option fail time and time again. My dealer and the Chrysler help line consistently told me it was my phone. Three phones later, no text in my DJ.
Since we, evidently, cannot rely on dealers nor the Chrysler help line for accurate info, Chrysler should spend a lot more time on employee education and/or create a position for someone to review the owner's manuals so that they are correct. I was also told when I purchased my DJ that my vehicle would support text. Again, poor employee education is likely at the root of that statement.
I love my DJ, but that $#!+ pisses me off!!

If u guys really want a CAI, why not just get the mopar CAI? You can have the dealer install it and it will never be blamed for any future problems like non-dealer installed mods. Or at least if it is, you still have the mopar part and dealer install to back u up. If I get a CAI, I'm definitely going mopar even if it costs more up front. I prefer the peace of mind.

Yes. I would definitely say that is a warranty issue. If it were mine, I'd be sure that it gets fixed and resealed if resealing is possible. I'd consider keeping the bulbs and making the dealer replace since the water, which should not be in the light, likely caused the failure. Good luck.

Haven't even had to do brakes in 33,000+ miles. Still have the OEM kumhos on with more than half the tread left. I drive my DJ 70%/30% highway/city.
