This is my girlfriends cars, she slacked on the oil changes for sure. My dad and I did confirm that the timing marks are lined up correctly, there is NOT any damage or etc either, my dad used to work on cars a long time and is doing the grunt work with me. He swears everything is lined up correctly. The vehicle has 95K miles, and sadly the cars warranty ran out at 90K, we tried taking it in multiple times when it was under warranty but they stated if its working/running without a consistent check engine light it can't be covered (multiple places told us this)...as the check engine like would go on and off on occasion. Yes, the plugs are getting wet from gas and we tested the coils for power, ground, but it is NOT getting a signal from the computer to start (according to codes and research we did thats normal).

We ordered the VVT solenoids but will probably install those tomorrow, and yes we will continue to watch youtube videos haha.

We have a low voltage code still even though we replaced the battery, so there is a possible battery sensor/ground issue somewhere. I believe this is giving us the code which is preventing a startup, we are getting power to the coils, but no signal for startup (we were told thats because of the codes).

Previous post: https://www.dodgejourneyforum.com/topic/19766-battery-died-now-it-wont-start/#comment-106151 I replaced the crankshaft/Camshaft sensors, and got the Xtool D6s for the relearn, and it was denied and still no start. So today we decided to Crack open the valve cover and take a look at the timing chain...see pics below. The timing chain is tight and doesnt have any wiggle room, at all.

Is my issue the timing chain?

I ended up getting the XTOOL D6S and it wouldn't clear the codes, or do the relearn (denied it) I ended up opening the valve cover, will post the photos in the next post

Get a better scanner that does relearns.....will order it now. Thank you for letting me know that the relearn can be done while the engine is off and while the car doesn't start, that is very helpful and was gonna be my next question. I'll wait for the scanner to come in and get back to you asap with my results.

UPDATE: crankshaft position sensor - replaced Exhaust camshaft sensor - replaced Status: Crankshaft (No start) Codes still present: P0016 – Crankshaft/Camshaft Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A) P000B – Exhaust Camshaft Position Slow Response P0562 – System Voltage Low I am now checking for spark, there is no spark in Cylinder 1.

What if I change the CPS and it doesn't start? Whats my next step? What if I erase the codes and it comes back? Im still getting the system violated low code too.

What do I do after the crankshaft position sensor is replaced? I read a few different things online....one said disconnect the negative for 15mins, another said immediately start? If doesnt start erase codes?

Will check them first thing.

So the previous cooling issue was a HUGE pain the ass, I ended up replacing the fan which worked but still had the issue of HIGH not kicking on when needed, so I replaced the radiator fan resistor which seemed to solve that issue. There was also a little bit of sludge in the radiator, which I'm going to assume is from oil shops using different coolant, but I drained it and use MOPAR coolant now and it seems to be running smooth. Sadly I think all these coolant issues started happening at once and made it difficult to pinpoint what exactly was going on. I am planning on replacing the radiator after getting this issue sorted. The car has 95K miles on it, and yes the spark plugs have been replaced. I'll check my log to see when I last did it when I get home but I try to stay on schedule. I just received the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft sensors yesterday. So I will be replacing the crankshaft position sensor this weekend. Any tips and or suggestions is appreciated.
