  1. I have a 2012 Journey Crew with the 4.3 Uconnect. It will not pair my phone. The radio/climate and all other features work correctly just not the Uconnect. It just displays the "Ready to pair Device" Icon. but when you got to push the button nothing happens. We did a hard reset by unplugging the negative post off the battery and kept it off for half an hour. Hooked the wire back up and the Uconnect worked correctly again...but for about 2 days....then it went back again to what it was doing above. Does anybody have any suggestions?...or has anybody run across this problem? I really don't want to go back to the dealership, even if I knew what part number to buy (I am thinking it must be some kind of module, or stand alone unit) that would be a help. Or if I buy a part does it have to be programmed at the dealership in order to work correctly??. (This is out of my mechanics skillset so I am hoping Journey Forum can come through!!) Thanks....
  2. On my way to work earlier this week, cruising along the interstate at a nice smooth 72MPH when my cruise control kicked off, my traction light came on, my ABS light came on, and the service AWD message appeared in the display. The traction light and abs light has stayed on since then, and the service AWD message resets everytime I turn the car off. When I start it up and get to about 10mph, the service message pops back up. I have unhooked the battery and left it unhooked for an hour but the ABS and traction light won't go away at all. I have read post after post regarding this issue, and at the moment I assume it's a wheel speed sensor. My question is, how do I know which one it is that needs replaced? I have a cheap OBDII scanner that doesn't show any fault codes. I assume that my scanner is only reading codes from the check engine light since I'm getting no codes from the other lights. Would a parts store like autozone or advance be able to use a scanner to see what sensor is bad (if in fact that is the problem), or does this require a diagnosis from a Dodge Garage? Thanks for any advice.
  3. Hi, My 2012 Dodge journey won't start. I tried to start it this morning and it just didnt start. The brake pedal is hard to press, when I attempt to start the car all lights from the dash would go crazy blinking and the car would make a rattle noise (not the engine, it sounds more like electrical system), and the temperature displayed on the dash shows as -40.Any idea of what could be happening? The battery was replaced about a month ago and had worked fine so far. I'll have to tow the car to the dealer to repair. I uploaded some videos:
  4. Replaced the alternator on my 2012 Dodge Journey SXT, new battery, and vehicle now is showing no power whatsoever. Don't know what else to try, really in need of help with this.

  7. Service AWD

I purchased a one owner 2012 dodge journey sxt with awd. It had 19,000 miles on it when bought back in May and now has 25,000 so still under warranty We got some snow last week and when we took out the journey it started out fine but a soon as we hit some large hills we started to spin and the service awd light came on. When this light was on it was like we only had front wheel drive and got stuck. We turned around and was able to get home but could not get it into the garage which has a very slight grade to go up and I mean slight. A little later I started the car and the service awd was not on and it just went right into the garage without issue. So to see what the heck is going on here I took it back out and found a flat parking lot with just a dusting of snow, started to drive slow at first then started to drive faster and caused the suv to spin and lose traction. The light came right on and I was back into the same condition where it just seemed like fwd only. Drove slowly for a bit and the light went off and all seemed well. I have talked to a couple dealers and also Chrysler customer service and no one has heard of this happening. I feel like I may have bought a lemon here since this is not the only issue. Other issues: - Clock is always 15 minutes or so ahead even after you reset it - Radio will some times be at the highest volume when you start the car - Ball joint or something else that makes a banging sound when on the brakes from the passenger side. Has been to two dealerships and no one can find an issue with this noise. I have even recreated it for them I attached pics of the service awd on my dash. On one of the pics you will see that I turned off the traction control or what not but even when in this condition the traction indicator comes on and then the service awd. Any info would be appreciated (it goes back to the dealership soon)
  8. Hey! It seems like i'll be purchasing a 2012 Dodge Journey (37k km) but i've been reading about a lot of problems people have had with the 2009-2011 Journeys. So it leads me to some questions: Have the problems that were persistent in the older models been upgraded/fixed in any way (specifically brake pads/rotors)? Should I be weary of buying a 2012 Dodge Journey for any other reasons or would you recommend this car?

  10. Here are some new pics of our 2012 DJ SXT V6. Just finished adding the WeatherTech hood deflector and had added the WeatherTech window deflectors just prior to Christmas (front only). Really like the look of the wrap around hood deflector vs. the OEM that stops at the hood line. The window deflectors are awesome - they just snap into place. No double sided tape anywhere. They are an absolute requirement on the DJ due to the way the windshield meets the pillar. When it's raining and you put the wipers on, water just pours into the interior - not anymore :whew: Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics - have any questions, ask away. Previous to the new Hood Deflector...
  11. Just bougth 2012 Journey SXT 3.6. So far I like it but one thing annoys me a lot - vibrations on idle - either when on park or drive - I have only 1600kms on it. The funny thing is that those vibrations are very random - some times I can drive all day and everything is super smooth, next day I'm sitting in traffic and everything is shaking - even passenger can feel it.. Had Mitsu Endeavor before with 190000kms and almost no vibrations at all. I heard that this can be cured by some engine software upgrade and it is a common thing with 3.6 Pentastar. Any thoughts? BTW as for mileage computer shows 14L/100km (I'm driving 99% in the city) - did couple of trips using highway and it showed 11L/100km - I'm guessing it's pretty much normal. Thanks!
  12. So, I have a 2012 base model, and today I got the oil changed, and on the way home the low oil pressure light came on (super short drive). I have had it changed multiple times and the light has never come on after. I just checked the oil level and it doesn't seem to be measuring unless the engine is on, so I don't think the oil is flowing properly. Temperature of all the systems are just fine and not hot at all. I also got the tires rotated, I know its a reach, but could they have knocked a sensor loose or something? Should I just give it time or go back and see the shop again? New to Las Vegas, so I have never used this shop before, and car only has less than 15k miles.

  14. Hello all, We have had our new 2012 DJ SXT for 3 weeks now. Loving it by the way. Would like to ask for some advice and/or input on the following. I have had the hood up a couple of times and am not impressed by the hood support rod. Not sure about other model years but on our 2012 with the Pentastar V6 we have a cheap hood support rod. I want to convert this to strut(s) if possible. Are they available for the DJ? What size strut? One or two? Is there mounting support already there? So far this is the only thing that is bugging me. I have read they may have changed due to wind, price or strut failure - whatever the reason, it sucks. Any part #'s or advice on the correct size of strut to purchase would be very much appreciated. . Thanks in advance, LRD
