Johnnyh got a reaction from rolly in where are you mounting radar detectors?
In CT and NY there are so many drivers that exceed speed limits by 20+ mph going 10 mph over is easy to not have a problem. The police watch for the highest overspeed drivers. No need for a detector. The town I live in the main road into town is bottlenecked down on both ends so its clear you don't speed in town. My friend is Town Supervisor and told me about one driver that was ticketed for 60 in a 30 and was so pissed he was stopped at 60 on the return trip through town the opposite direction. With idiots like that there are so many speeders we don't have to worry for a few miles over.

When I buy a quality item I buy it from the manufacture or a company I have brought from before. The Weathertech mat I bought for my DJ came from Weathertech. I wanted the proper fit for my year and not one of the Amazon dealers would confirm it fit my car exactly. It cost $127 inc. shipping same as most. Both Thule and Yakima car racks say locks are not included but if you want them they sell them. Don't buy something expecting anything unless you have gone and investigated the purchase. I bought my latest rack at EMS on sale including a six pack of keyed alike locks. Nothing wrong with saving money but when it doesn't work out suck it up.

The Thule setup is a sweet setup. The Thule Crossroad mount connects securely to most factory side rails. I have also owned an equal amount of Yakima racks and equipment mounts and they are great as well but I favor the Thule on a vehicle with factory rails. The only thing I will add is if you want to lock your mounts and rails or your sports equipment you need to buy locks with either Thule or Yakima brands. One topic on this forum the people were upset that locks weren't included. There was never a mention of getting free locks anyway. I am tired of quality products getting bad ratings because someone didn't read what was included and expected things they weren't promised.

I ride a front suspension MB. Helps with my back after riding for years on a rigid Harley.

I totally think the importance of a CIA in most applications is a visual thing. Now a days engineers know the importance of a free flowing intake and exhaust for power and economy. I have put K&N filters in all my cars, trucks and Harley's for the last 25 years. I really don't know if I realize more power or MPG but its cheaper to run one and clean it annually compared to purchasing a new one yearly. I have had hot rod cars and Harley's with all types of intake systems but think you are throwing money at nothing putting $350.00 into a CIA for a simple family SUV. Spend the money on bigger brakes or something that keeps your family safer.

That sucks, the heated seats and wheel are nice features. So far I like my DJ. I think the front end is noisy over bumps.

The Homelink was listed on the window sticker. The auto headlights were a feature listed on the Dodge website that stated the 7 differences between a crossroads and a crossroads plus. I printed both out and all I need to do Is be the squeak that doesn't go away and I will get them.

Will someone with a 2016 Crossroad Plus AWD tell me the exact badge wording on the rear of their SUV. I have on the left rear JOURNEY AWD. I have on the right CROSSROAD. I don't see plus but I don't know if it should say plus. I am having a situation where I was sold a Crossroad Plus but dealer isn't sure if its actually a Crossroad Plus. There were two things a Plus should have as options included but didn't on my car. Thanks

I have the Thule mounts that grab on to the stock Dodge rails and have the square tube Thule cross rails. I put mountain bikes and kayaks on them and have never even had a worry. They are locking and absolutely top shelf. Have had the same setup on my Nissan Rogue for 6 years.

I'm New and confused, a bit. I have a 2016 DJ and a 8.4 Uconnect. I want to install a rear camera using the Dodge tailgate mounted camera. I can install without issue. Now, does the basic non nav and non camera 8.4 unit came with the DJ allow me to install the backup camera with a dealer flashing or do I need Lock Pic. Seems the the dealer unlocking the Uconnect will be cheaper.

Johnnyh got a reaction from dhh3 in what oil filter
Its illegal for a manufacturer to void a warranty for not using OEM parts. Thats backed by federal law. You do however need to use a product that is equivalent in specifications. Also keeping records of oil changes and receipts for oil and filters used is important. One is the OEM filter that has a check valve can only be replaced with a filter with the same feature. I went to Auto Zone today. The guy behind the counter said a 2009 Nissan Rogue used 5-20 oil when it was new and at 50,000 miles you should switch to 5-30. He added every 50,000 you should increase oil weight. The Nissan Rogue used 5-30 from the factory so he was wrong. Don't listen to everybody when you look for service info. Look at a reputable website or printed materials and you will be fine. I have a 16 DJ for less then a week and at 3000 miles I will buy a 1/2 case of Mopar cartridge filters.

I will never believe oil will last longer than 3000 miles, I change the filter each time as well. There is also dust, hot weather and stop and go driving that effects oil life. I keep track of three cars at 3000 and my Harley at 5000. I always use synthetic oil and a top rated filter. Conventional oil is fine too but use the correct one. If you don't believe me regarding oil life at least use top rated filters.
