BrianS got a reaction from dj cowboy in 2011 SXT Front wheel drive in the snow. All season tires
I've heard it said that you can ALWAYS pick out the ones with 4wd as they are the ones furthest from the road..
I too have never purchased snow tires. My FWD vehicles(#7 now) have always performed flawlessly in the snow, and I don't expect any less out of the DJ. It truly is the driver in a lot of cases IMHO. If one uses common sense, you normally won't have a problem.
We've had one rear wheel drive vehicle recently, a Dodge Charger, that was absolutely horrible on wet or snow covered road. A great car otherwise, but I don't think snow tires would have helped this one in the winter.
And we also have a Dodge Nitro 4WD that absolutely shines in deep snow.
@bramfrank I enjoyed the story about the 4wd getting stuck. I have a neighbor like that. He has a Nitro 4wd and got stuck in the snow next to his house. He said "I had to stop. My motor was starting to overheat" He did the same thing... put it in 4wd and floored it. By the time he was done, he had dug down and, since he melted the snow, when he stopped it froze again so he was now stuck on ice. I let him dig for 30 min and when he still couldn't get out, I put some kitty litter under his wheels and drove it out for him.

BrianS got a reaction from dhh3 in Middle seat slider issue
    '15 Limited w/7 pass. seating
As problems go, this is relatively minor and as soon as Christmas is out of the way I am going to get it into the dealer. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this.
The bottom of the middle seats are both supposed to flip up and the whole seat slide forward to allow easy access to the rear seats. One of mine does not move at all. The larger one, the passenger side, slides forward and back, and flips up as it's designed. The smaller one, behind the drivers seat, does not slide at all.
Not a big issue... had it almost 8 months and this is the first time I've used it.

Hi Aramno. Welcome to the forum.
Call your dealer and ask them. Every dealer seems to be different. You could also check Ebay. I've not looked for one for the Journey, but I've seen lots for my Dodge Caravan.

You "recently" purchased this? How "recent"? A "recent" purchase should not be making noise when the brakes are applied, especially considering it would have had to pass an mechanical safety test in Ontario. The battery is a non-issue, normal maintenance. As you said, it's 6 years old... it's had a good life. The cables can be cleaned, or have new ends installed.. not a real big problem. The brakes are normal maintenance as well, altho, again, I question them going bad so quickly after the safety inspection.
As for the website about the complaints about the Journey, I wouldn't pay it too much mind. Pretty much the only people that you hear from are those few that have had problems. The majority, that have little or no issues, never say anything.

My Crossroad claims to have an alarm. I have no clue whether it works or not and I don't care because even if it does go off no one pays attention to these things anyway.

BrianS reacted to ajharris35 in Can I? How can I listen to radio while kids watch dvd?
All you do is get the movie started, have the people watching put on the headsets. Turn them on, and turn the volume up. Ask them if they can hear the movie in the headsets. If they can then all you do is hit your radio button. The movie will continue to play through the headsets while you are listening to the radio or media player. The headsets should automatically be paired to the dvd player. I know mine were.

    Hi Jason, and welcome.
Yes, it is very possible. My granddaughter listens to movies, wife and I listen to whatever we want. Very easy to do, unfortunately I can't tell you how without being in the DJ and doing it..... sorry. Only used the DVD a couple of times so still have to feel my way along.

YOU SHOULD REALLY TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK SO YOU STOP YELLING AT PEOPLE.
A common leak problem with sunroofs is the drain tubes. They get plugged with leaves and other debris and are unable to drain off the water. Not sure on the DJ as I've not looked at mine, but I think they are at the front corners and run down the A-pillars.
