Yes, my understanding of an "EGR valve" is that it opens a cavity between the intake and exhaust manifolds to facilitate Exhaust Gas Recirculation. I'm thinking if it has coolant coming from it, and it IS the EGR valve, you have bigger problems. And, according to what I have found, that IS the EGR valve, but again, no logical reason for it to have coolant coming from it.

When you sprayed it, did you work the arm pivot back and forth to loosen it up? It worked on my van when I had a similar problem.

This is exactly the problem I had with my mini-van. Pivot on arm seized up.

Try spraying the spring and hinge pin with some WD40 or similar product. Sometimes the pin area gets rusty and does funny things to the blade.

Probably a bad connection. Electronic media devices don't "skip" like CD's.

I'm having mixed feelings on this... if only due to the name change. I didn't like the first Pacifica, but they sold everyone they made.
Styling looks pretty nice on this one, at least from the side view. Haven't seen the rear, so can't comment. The Pentastar engine rocks, as we all know from the one in our DJ's. I hope the fuel economy continues to improve. I owned 3, the last was an '07 and that was always my biggest complaint. A family vehicle and it got such crappy fuel economy. And, one the new one, it looks like the roof slopes down a bit at the back, which might mean that there is lower ceiling height and a smaller opening. Not good for moving stuff, which these things really shine at.
Hopefully it will shine and everyone will love it. 4,999 of my fellow employees are depending on it.

They COULD but they have zero motivation; Engineering an access port from the interior would involve mods to the design for each and every vehicle and would increase their build cost - and car manufacturers count pennies.

The few that die under warranty cost less for them to repair than the cost of modifying the design. And they don't really much care if the ones that need repair after the warranty expires costs more to repair than it would otherwise.

I had issues with my sunroof as well. When I went thru the car wash, water would enter at the rear of the sunroof. Not a lot, but enough, since there should not be any. 2 trip to the dealer for adjustment and it was taken care of. Take it in... it's under warranty.

BrianS got a reaction from dj cowboy in 2011 SXT Front wheel drive in the snow. All season tires
I've heard it said that you can ALWAYS pick out the ones with 4wd as they are the ones furthest from the road..
I too have never purchased snow tires. My FWD vehicles(#7 now) have always performed flawlessly in the snow, and I don't expect any less out of the DJ. It truly is the driver in a lot of cases IMHO. If one uses common sense, you normally won't have a problem.
We've had one rear wheel drive vehicle recently, a Dodge Charger, that was absolutely horrible on wet or snow covered road. A great car otherwise, but I don't think snow tires would have helped this one in the winter.
And we also have a Dodge Nitro 4WD that absolutely shines in deep snow.
@bramfrank I enjoyed the story about the 4wd getting stuck. I have a neighbor like that. He has a Nitro 4wd and got stuck in the snow next to his house. He said "I had to stop. My motor was starting to overheat" He did the same thing... put it in 4wd and floored it. By the time he was done, he had dug down and, since he melted the snow, when he stopped it froze again so he was now stuck on ice. I let him dig for 30 min and when he still couldn't get out, I put some kitty litter under his wheels and drove it out for him.

BrianS got a reaction from dhh3 in Engine oil dipstick
Hot, cold....doesn't much matter IMHO. Oil will expand a bit when hot, but it's only 4.5L, so not going to make a huge difference, Wait 5-10 min, as Ohare-Fred indicated to allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase and then check it.
As for the dipstick, I think this is a Chrysler thing. Lots of broken dipsticks on the Mini-van forum (3.3L,3.8L). If it's difficult to remove, don't twist it around in a circle to get it out. Gentle twisting, maybe 1/8" turn each way should be enough to get it out.

I have an 09 with the 3.5. That dipstick can really be tight! I thought I would break mine I had to pull so hard and I do not jam the thing as far down as I can either.
You can check your oil cold, but dont fill it to the top of the safe line. Best to check warm ( driven till normal op temp, then wait 5 mins) is how I was taught back in the 70's and how I do it now. Better to be a little low on oil than too much!

BrianS reacted to OhareFred in 12 volt power fuse keeps blowing
Which are you using when it blows? DO NOT USE A BIGGER FUSE. The wires cannot handle a 30 amp draw, you could start a fire. If your dvd player is blowing it, check what its draw is supposed to be. Replace with the proper size fuse, dont plug anything in for a couple of days, see if it blows. If it blows while being used, its more than likely the device. If it blows by itself, its the vehicle. Ive used mine in my 09 for all kinds of stuff, never blew the fuse...let us know
