newrollo got a reaction from dhh3 in Front End "Clunk" while Braking Over Bumps
I'm with ya animal mother. I worked in Detroit. So just some symbol of the old big three is all I can do. I've had good luck with most. They just put a "stop driving or selling" on 60,000 Subaru's for potential of complete loss of steering.

newrollo got a reaction from dhh3 in Where do you place you phone with the 8.4 touchscreen
I have a flip phone that goes in the lower center dash cubby. The wife uses the console side pocket. The side pocket, like JK said above, is on both sides. If you pair it to the radio, keep it in your pants, shirt pocket..don't text and drive.

Little pocket beside your right leg is where I keep mine. Or in the console cup holder. Use your imagination.

newrollo reacted to dhh3 in Crossroad Hitch Install
My back be damned! Hitch is going to be installed next Wednesday. Nothing in instructions about cutting anything. Just removing both exhaust hangers and replace once hitch is mounted. Picture to follow.
Now, my search continues for a boat. Considering Bass Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW, with a Mercury 75 4-Stroke. I can add a second console and cover and it will fit in my garage length wise.

newrollo reacted to Marc Howell in Did some modding..............
Over the last few nights I have been doing some modding to the DJ.
I have flyeyed the headlights, side indicators, rear lights, 3rd brake light and the fogs/reflectors. I also covered the centre console with some 3m glossy carbon fibre vinyl, I also covered some of the front grill with it also. I changed the rear centre console power point for a duel usb power points. Here's the photos.........

newrollo reacted to OhareFred in Rear wiper blade
I get Goodyear blades from Costco for mine. Last about 8 months and are 4.99 when they are on sale. Work great. As for the rear, I just went to AutoZone and got one there. Working fine for almost two years, no issue with lifting, etc. Dont have a clue what brand though. Obviously I dont use the rear wiper that much.....

newrollo got a reaction from dhh3 in General Altimax Artic with studs
Recently (June of 15) bought a cabin in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. It was a snowy and icy winter here. I put the Generals/studded on a 2014 2wd Crossroad in Nov. Honestly I was amazed at the traction in all winter conditions. Ground clearance helps of course, the Journey is good there. Snow packed ice and mountain runoff black ice, no problem. Some roads are extreme drop offs after the white line. In Michigan we could get by with just snow tires (studs are illegal). Would awd have helped, probably. But the fwd with studs was as sure footed as a mountain goat. The Perilis P7's go back on Monday. Should be a little quieter. Not that it was that bad.

Well my 2011 SXT is gone.
Just on my way to pick up my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited.
I'll be hanging around but have a new bookmark on the system.

newrollo got a reaction from dhh3 in BATTERY
the lead acid battery technology is over a century old. Mainly unchanged. Thankfully their not too expensive for a better one. Hope its not your charge system. I ran mine down one time when I left an inverter on plugged into the middle row 12v socket. That one is always hot. Jumped it and have had no problems with it since.

I use the change oil indicator in the dash. When it gets to 25% I start looking for a deal on oil and filter.

newrollo reacted to bramfrank in Center Console 12V lighter cover replacement
Simple enough to tell - the light on whatever you have plugged in will remain on - and yes, it is always live while the one in the dash is switched.

Probably left something plugged in and ran the battery down.

I think that "back of console" 12v outlet is always on too! Ask me how I know!

HP. Glad we can keep the world entertained with our mindless political and media frenzy. Who ever is "elected" will hopefully be made powerless by our dunderhead congress.

Gaz it's probably because the standard options on the comparable vehicles here (Craptiva, Territory) fall woefully short for the price you pay on a DJ. Xtrail ST-L is a decent choice but that is only a 4cyl with a CVT transmission.
I've found the Dodge to be a happy middle ground.

Hi All,
Helped a friend load a coffee table into their Kia Sporatge on the weekend. Well tried to anyway but the middle seats don't fold flat so the coffee table legs hit the roof . So it got me thinking about all the little things I appreciate in my Dodge Journey
Flat folding middle seats Under floor storage indicators that flash 3 times with just a flick Front head rest tilt forward at the bottom (so passanger can use a pillow on those 1000km trips ) I am sure there are heaps more that I havent mention, but it just goes to reminded me what a brilliant vehcile the Dodge Journey is

newrollo got a reaction from Trains123 in 2 years 25k miles 2014 fwd v-6.
38,000 miles on 2014 Crossroad. A lot of those miles are Detroit to Steamboat Springs Colorado. Heading west pulling a 1,700 lb 5x10 travel trailer. The Nebraska head/cross winds always put me at 14 mpg at 75-80 mph. the 3.6 never loses its power. It's a fwd and has studded snows for the winter. Pretty much a mountain goat in the Rockies until over 6-8 inches of unplowed snow then it makes a terrible snow plow.

it's the new Audi. Your right dhh3, the taillights in the hatch are stupid. Another expensive Journey clone in my opinion.
