R4V3N got a reaction from RoseCotton in Can't Unlock Maps
Had read through all of the 8 pages. Wow! Just intrigued on why this can't be easily addressed by the dealer?
I do agree with the input that someone had raised to list the firmware that those had issues with. We could go a step further by listing the Uconnect version, map version, country version, etc. The more detail the better. Maybe to also indicate what other options are within the unit. Like for example mine has no xirius. Compile this info into a Ms.Excel/Ms.Word file for future reference.
I know its a long shot but at least through the above we can analize and see if the problem are happening to which unit, uconnect firmware, software/options installed within the unit.
Mine have not had any issues for 2 years that I had this car from new. Still bellow 30k. Yet this thread gets me worried as my warranty will end next year. Furthermore, what worries me more is that my dealership do not give extended warranty for Indonesia.
This thread had started since 2014 and still the problem persist. Would request moderator to put it as a sticky!

R4V3N got a reaction from Locosiete in Custom rear diffuser
This is work in progress.
After searching everywhere on the net there isnt much available.
Hence getting a custom rear diffuser to accompdate a double twin pipe for the DJ.
Since it is a SUV I didnt want to be too different than the original dif yet a bit more sporty.
Got some ideas I got from the C63 AMG in the attached pix. Please comments for something similar?

R4V3N got a reaction from jkeaton in Eibach Pro Kit
@lacosiete: That will be overkill for a DJ. Haven't seen one with air suspension before. This will be rather interesting. Good luck mate..

Thanks guys.. appreciated!
Depending on how you want your DJ to look, you will require to make a new the rear diffuser if you install a quad tip exhaust.
My DJ has the 2.4L engine (1 muffler, 1 exhaust tip), hence I had to make the new rear diffuser to accommodate the quad tip. For 3.6L engine it already has a twin muffler hence need not change the rear diff. Just to note that a mod is necessary only when the exhaust tip is larger than the rear diffuser cutout.
The sequence I did it was to acquire the double exhaust tip (in order to have an idea of the diameter size and its width). Bring it to a body shop to make a new rear diff. I will be handy to have a photo of a rear diff to show them. Put your own flair to it if you want to. For me, I just kept it simple. Once painted and installed, I then headed to a muffler shop to install the aftermarket muffler and quad tip. Fitment was no issue.
Hope this helps..

R4V3N got a reaction from dhh3 in Kicker/Mopar speaker upgrade completed
Hi RCman, I have a 2014 DJ R/T with the Alpine system. Do you have the pictures of the original Alpine speakers vs the Mopar/Kicker version? How hard was it to swap the in dash speaker? And how about the Sub, what did you change them into?

R4V3N reacted to RCman in Kicker/Mopar speaker upgrade completed
Hi guys, I just finished installing my new speakers today! I installed the Mopar/Kicker 77KICK28ab (component) in the front doors and dash and the 77KICK41 (coaxial) in the rear doors without any mods at all. The depth of the speakers weren't as deep as the info in all my research and they all fit like they were made for my car and they have the same OEM connector as the original featherweight speakers. The sound difference is definitely huge and I'm hearing more details in my music again. I haven't cranked the volume yet since I heard new speakers should be given a couple days of lower volume for breaking them in. I don't know if that's true or not but I figured it couldn't hurt to go easy on them in the beginning anyway and I don't want to chance damaging them.

THEY had to change it, but IT didn't have to be changed. I've brought these back from the dead and it is relatively simple to do. If you read what I wrote you'll know that I think it is an FCA policy for some reason, perhaps because the fix requires about 2 hours of someone babysitting the vehicle while it processes the data.
Supposedly they've got it figured out now (finally). The latest software for the radio and navigator have been incorporated into the R65 recall. The only problem is that if they DON'T have it figured out, the recall implies that this is a one-shot affair - they go at it and then you're on your own.
If you have the latest radio, a decent Internet connection, a reasonable 8 gig USB stick and a couple of hours to spend on it I can probably walk you though the repair and you can avoid going back to the dealer. I would need to know what firmware your navigator is running, which you can read as it begins to start up.

R4V3N reacted to dhh3 in 2014 journey speaker sizes?
No speaker in back hatch. If you have the premium system, there is an amp under the passenger front seat, and a sub on the driver's side, by the third row. The "premium" speakers are still paper, and there is no Mopar/Kicker upgrade for the DJ.
For some reason, Crutchfield keeps getting it wrong concerning the DJ. They have always been my "go to" guys.

Definitely black looks better than red! You should smoke the rear light as well to match. Hope that is paint. Film just does not look good. I had mine painted smoke candy red for all rear lights.

My only advice is to get the V6 Pentastar. I didn't see the engine specified. If this doesn't have it, skip it. Maybe AWD implies V6, not sure.
Peace.
