OhareFred got a reaction from 2013R/T in hid lights installed pic
Unless you are going to have your high beams on for a decent amount of time, installing HIDs in the high beams may not be such a good idea. The constant on-off short cycles will 1-shorten the life of the hid bulb and 2-the bulbs take a few seconds to come up to full brightness. If its cold, you may lose any advantage of having HID because they take so long to brighten up. You might need those few seconds. You might be better served with something else. Just something to think about.

Got an 09 with the 19" Kumho tires. Can't wait to get them off. I've had problems with slippage in rain and the are terrible in anything over 1/2 inch of snow. Have 41,000 on them and they are starting to show the wear indicators, so I'll be going Michelin (if I can get them in a proper size). I will say I never had a leak or flat, but was not impressed with them from day one.

Don't know if it will work but try pulling the fuse for the radio, wait a couple of mins and put it back in, maybe it will reset. Can't hurt anyway!

I usually don't comment on things like this but unless you NEVER use the rear seats, you could be placing someone in extreme danger in the event of an accident. Head rests are not there to rest your head, but to act as a safety device to prevent or minimize head and neck trauma in the event of an accident. It doesn't take much to cause major neck trauma which could result in paralysis! Even small children or adults will benefit from them. Is it more important to see where you have been or to protect those in the seats?
Ok, I'm off my high horse and done with the lecture! Thank you for reading, take it for what you will!

OhareFred got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in Proper Brake Bleeding Order? 2012 Journey
Unless things have changed, always start at the furthest wheel from the master cylinder. So you should go passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front. Now I learned how to bleed brakes waaaayyyy back in the 70's, but as far as I know it's still the same. VERY IMPORTANT NEVER LET THE FLUID LEVEL IN THE MASTER GET BELOW THE LOW MARK!!! If it does you could introduce air into the system. If that happens you may need to go to the dealer and have them bled due to the anti-lock pump system.
    Good luck!!

OhareFred got a reaction from Dre in I've had it with this 2011 Journey and lack of service! (LONG POST)
    Dre,
Come on man, you buy a new car and expect it to work!!!???? :hysterical2: What do you expect from an "American" auto maker who assembles their cars in Mexico????
I hope by now you realize I'm completely on your side. Dealers are becoming less and less dependable (most anyway) and if you ever find one that is worth anything stick with them. I agree completely they should be figuring out whats wrong with your car not you. If your house is on fire does the fireman ask you how to put it out?
By the way, I didn't think steel belted radial tires got flat spots anymore, but I've been wrong before.
Hope you have some better luck. Keep the faith.......

Did you try looking under the seat, from the back seat, and see if you can see/feel the latch? If you can, pull it towards the rear of the car, maybe it might open. If you can see your tab, try putting some pressure down on the seat while you pull the tab. Maybe you'll get luckly.

OhareFred got a reaction from symbasys in Upgraded to HID headlamps
    Hello all!
Just wanted to put this out there. If you are thinking of upgrading your headlamps to HID, you really have to watch what kit you get. I went through three different manufactures looking for a conversion kit that worked. I have an 09 R/T and let me tell you about my problems.
The first kit I purchased (via the internet) claimed everything was included. Not so. After I installed the unit (2 ballasts, 2 bulbs) the system didn't work correctly. One lamp would light, or both would light and then flicker. Very annoying. I discovered that I needed a relay harness. I ordered that, installed it. It solved the problem of both lights not turning on, but not the flickering. Also, a new problem showed up. The relay buzzed VERY LOUDLY. I was then told I needed "cancelers". So I bought them, installed them, and still had problems! Now I'm into this to the tune of about $130 US. So I send it all back, get a refund, and try another company. Pretty much the same problems, only this time the relay not only buzzed but kept getting stuck in the "ON" position. This setup also was about $130. Send it all back. Now I try a third company (thinking this had better work or forget it) because I'm out about $15 in shipping costs. I ordered from

XenonHIDconversionKit.com after speaking to them on the phone. They assured me their kit, with "canbus" ballasts, will work fine. They weren't kidding. Of all the kits, theirs was really plug and play, uses the factory headlamp connectors

(their unit acutally draws less then a 55 watt halogen bulb, so no issues there) no relay harness. Took about 15 mins to install and haven't had an issue. Paid $110 US with shipping.

I have nothing to do with this company, don't know anyone from this company, and am getting nothing for free from this company. I just put their name out because I am really pleased with their product and hope I can help someone else avoid the

problems I had. Look them up and decide for yourself.

Hey there. I have an 09 as well. I have the REN radio, but had the same problem. All my dealer had to do was install the UCONNECT module, which they got right from Dodge. It just plugs right in and they install a mic. They put mine on the drivers side A pillar, but I moved it to the drivers side of the overhead counsel (where the dome lights and sun glass holder are). Plenty of cable for that. You can also get the IPOD cable from Dodge, but I've seen them on EBay as well. There was a post in the past with the part number for the cable, but I couldn't find it. Good luck!

I've got a Garmin 340C which fits nicely in the upper storage bin (the one at the top of the radio stack). Open it up, place the Garmin in and your done. Picks up the sats just fine, and the popup cover for the bin shades it nicely. No telltail suction cup marks on the windshield! I just put it in the passenger seat storage bin and close the popup cover. You never know it was there!
