  1. Alpine 2-way 6x9s. I compared all the 6x9s on the Best Buy "wall", and the Alpines put out the most bass. I was surprised, because there was a set of Kickers on the wall also. I changed out my dash speakers for Alpine tweeters with built in crossovers. I'll meet you 1/2 way, somewhere in Ohio, for a meet & greet! LOL
  2. The audio that comes from a sub is omnidirectional, in that you hear it but it does not come from any one location/source. So, the bass does not appear to come from under my seat. My underseat Kicker comes with a remote gain, so I can turn it up and vibrate the mirrors and my baggie jeans if I so desire! I keep it to a point where I hear/feel the punch, but I do not rattle the loose parts or vibrate the body panels of my car as some are prone to do; so everyone in the neighborhood can not hear me! This little box is amazing for what it puts out. Even the installer at Best Buy could not believe his ears; and I am sure that he has heard some way overpowered systems. I, too, need my cargo space, and I do have the third row. I had the rear view camera installed as part of my "deal" when I purchased my car new not quite 2 years ago. The passenger side third row seat was out on the shop floor, the left rear interior panel was out, as well as both door sill panels, to run the cables for the camera. There did not appear to be enough room to mount a decent sized sub enclosure behind the panel, to be able to move enough air; to be able to "punch" out the low level sounds. I believe that the stock sub is 8" and do not believe that there would be room enough to modify the enclosure for a 10" sub. I could be wrong. The interior panels in my Nitro were a breeze to remove, but I have never made an attempt to remove the rear panels in my DJ. All I can suggest is to remove the panel (you may have to remove the seat first) and go from there. Even if you were able to install a 10" sub, the crossovers in the factory Alpine amp may not give you the power to drive it properly. To be clear, I do not have the factory Alpine system. I have read both pros and cons on the forum concerning the sound of this system. I have never heard it, so I can not, in all fairness, make a statement as to how it sounds. As I started changing my system, step by step, the sound got incredibly better, and I am thoroughly happy with the outcome.
  3. I also got the trailer light wire harness that ends with a plug behind the spare tire. So as far as the Trailer Tow Group goes, I got it, except for the harness that they throw in the back of the car with the mats, front license plate mount, and the luggage net. I already had the harness installed. Just need the hitch.

    Sun Visor

I think that the connector is under the headliner, not in the visor. All good advice. ^^
  5. The only issues with rub issues would be the bottom spring plate on the front struts. I can not get my index finger between the tire (255/50R19) and this plate. No rubbing at all anywhere else. Plenty of room in the back.
  6. You need to have it activated at your Dodge Dealer. They have to activate the Sales Code which will energize the lights! The DJ had the most Mickey Mouse Trailer Tow Package that I have ever seen. I'm getting mine done next Wednesday.
  7. My back be damned! Hitch is going to be installed next Wednesday. Nothing in instructions about cutting anything. Just removing both exhaust hangers and replace once hitch is mounted. Picture to follow. Now, my search continues for a boat. Considering Bass Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW, with a Mercury 75 4-Stroke. I can add a second console and cover and it will fit in my garage length wise.
  8. I'd wait and get the new ones. Eliminates the worry of when they will eventually fail. And, they will.
  9. Read my threads. I do not believe that I am talking out of my arss. And, I'll bet that my system sounds better than the crap factory Alpine system.
  10. I was waiting for him to cut his toes off, by the way he was controlling the saw!
  11. My overhead console goes past the sun glass holder about 4". I believe that it is hollow and serves no purpose. The overhead vents for the second row must be more to the outside edges of the headliners, and don't have a clue about the controls. I do keep the adjustment of the rear HVAC Locked on the screen. I bummed. I really wanted a sunroof. I could get the shorter overhead console, but have no idea what to do about the vents and the controls.
  12. There is a Shop here in town where Katzkin Leather is installed, along with custom accessories. They also install Infala Sunroofs, which are the ones installed (?) at the factory. So, I have some questions: 1. Can a DJ come from the factory with a sunroof? 2. If so, only on a 2-row with no rear HVAC? 3. I called yesterday to see if they could install one on my DJ. They did a great job with my Nitro. First, he asked me if I had an overhead console. I told him yes. He told me that he would have to cut off the rearmost section, which actually serves no purpose. Then he asked me if I had roof vents for the HVAC. I told him yes, and he told me that I would loose the 2 vents over the second row. Last question was the killer. The controls for the rear HVAC are just above the backs of the front seats. This is when he told me that he could not install a sunroof in my DJ. If sunroofs come from the factory on the 3-rows, are the overhead vents and controls in a different location? Is the overhead console shorter?
  13. Since you have already replace the lock actuator, I'd check the wiring that goes trough the boot, between the body and the door.
  14. You didn't state what the LEDs were for, but after reading the next two posts, I'm guessing they are for the headlights. What is the reasoning between blue or yellow headlights?
  15. I use my lower ones as rear fog lights. I have them wired into the tail lights, so they are always on when my lights are on. The bulbs are brighter than taillights, but not as bright as brake lights. No need to tint my lights, as the inner housings are black, not chrome.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Did you get a service history on the vehicle?
  17. Anyone heard from Lobitz68? Did he sail off the end of the Flat Earth? And, what about the Likes Leaders posting? JK and Lobitz were in a tight competition for first place.
  18. People post on here all of the time with a problem, and then never re-post if the problem was solved and/or how it was solved. This post is from March. Another 1 post wonder!
  19. I like the look of the carbon fiber on your dash.. I did the same thing with my Nitro. With my DJ, I chose real burled walnut wood.

    Dash Camera

Really didn't pay for itself, because you technically didn't get your money back. But, you saved a bundle and that is all that counts!
  21. My Nitro came from the factory with 20" wheels. All was well when I fit the biggest oversized tire I could. Stock sidewall was too thin for a comfortable ride. One of the reasons I changed the tires on my DJ soon after I purchased it!
  22. I started the same thread on the Nitro Forum. Happens, and never can be duplicated! CanBus hiccup!
  23. A couple of years ago, Car & Driver took a bunch of Crossovers to the Dunes in Michigan. They burned all the clutches out and the Durango ended up towing them out. It has real transfer case with gears because it is basically RWD. Subaru's are a flat 4 (boxer) with a trans axle for the front wheels. The drive shaft for the rear comes off of the the rear of the transmission just like any RWD vehicle. I'm not sure if it is hooked directly, or if their is a differential (gears) or a clutch (plates).
  24. If the TPMS is mounted on the inside of the driver's side wheel (as if it were mounted on the passenger side) they are both rotating in the same direction. I do not get where you believe that they are rotating in opposite directions.
