Sorry guys, lost some friends in a car accident and I totally forgot about this post. Forgive me for not having the details, but I took it to a mechanic and was told that it was a wiring harness. The harness replaced and the rough run disappeared. Everything seemed to be going along fine but then the hesitation/sputtering came back. It is the same sputtering in low rpm that it did before the wiring harness went out. It feels like bad gas or water in the lines, but it only doe sit in low rpm (first gear or going up hill, even in cruise control). I bought a cheap obdII but it isn't reading the vehicle. I have plugged it into my other two vehicles and it reads out no problem, but when I plug it into the dj it just hangs at "waiting for vehicle". I am at the point where I will be taking it to the dealership to see if they have any idea, but I am not trying to spend much more on it. The wiring harness job was $240 which isn't too much, but on a teacher's salary it is more than I like to spend on a vehicle we haven't yet owned for a year.......

I'll post the code when I get the scanner tomorrow. I contacted the dealership I bought it from, it might still be under the powertrain warranty. I should get a call tomorrow. Hopefully I can get this sorted soon. Although I don't plan on taking this to it, I have a funeral to attend about 5 hours away and don't want to leave my wife and kids with it like this.

Bought this DJ a few months ago, did not purchase extended warranty (couldn't afford it), bought it with 104k miles. Ran good during test drive, no issues. Changed oil/filter a few days ago, went to start it up yesterday (it had been driven after oil change with no issues), engine sputters and dummy light flashed 23 times, then on steady. Engine allowed to come up to 190,degrees, all fluid levels are normal, but engine continues to sputter. Any clue what could have happened? I don't feel comfortable driving into town (we live 10 miles out), and I ordered a scanner that should be here tomorrow. Bought this thing in Feb and the wife wants to get rid of it.......
