  1. I, too, have a 2014 Journey Crossroad. I have had it a little over a month. Right after I purchased it, I made a service appointment to have the DRLs turned on. I drove into the Service Aisle, and went into the Service Advisor. He told me that there was a change for 2014, and that they could not be turned on. The car was never taken back to the Service Bays; so nothing was looked at or done. 2014 Journey Crossroad, VIN: ET264901. See if you can work your magic. I have the option on the radio screen to turn them on, but they do not come on. Thank you.
  2. I went to an auto parts store to find sockets for these. They are not universal. So, I contacted the seller on ebay. Initially, I found the lights on ebay by searching: dodge journey mopar. They snap in just like the reflectors. Anyway, I contacted the seller for a set of bulb sockets, and the only thing that he could find was a harness: $181.00! And, there is no harness for the Journey. I had to send him my VIN. So, I went to my local dealer. I brought the lights with me; still in the Mopar bags with a part number. He asked me if I was installing rear fog lights. I said yes. He said that these were for export only, but then asked me if I had back up sensors. I told him no sensors, only a camera. He found a harness for $68. It is not in the Chicago warehouse, so I have no idea how long it will take to get here. Initially, I was going to wire them into the rear power port; but then they would be on all the the time. So, I took the left rear light housing off and there are 3 wires: white with a silver stripe, white, and black. I'm guessing that the black is ground, and one white is for brakes and the other tail lights. I figure that I could wire them into the tail lights because I have my front fog lights set to come on as soon as I turn on my lights. Anyone know which wire is which? The listing on ebay says nothing about export; only that they fit a number of mopar vehicles. The seller has been very helpful answering all of my questions except the last - which wire is which on the tail light. I'll ask my dealer when I pick up the harness. More than likely there is another harness that runs to the front and somehow plugs into the fog light circuit. I was very active on the Dodge Nitro forum, but I do not have a clue how to post a link on this forum.
  3. No! Just the great looking color with blacked out wheels and neat stitching on the door panels.
  4. You have to disconnect the battery for at least 1/2 hour if the problem is radio related. Not sure how long you waited.
  5. The girl from Uconnect did not tell me when they stopped working with Gracenote; only that they did. I'll call Uconnect again and see if there is any progress, around the end of the month. Missing my RBZ more and more every day!
  6. Has anyone replaced the reflectors in the rear bumper with fog lights? I found the housings on ebay, but am unable to locate the bulb sockets. There is not a universal fit socket for the housings. I will try my dealer on Monday. I did notice that the Fiat Freemont (Dodge Journey in the EU/UK) has a different rear bumper, and thus different rear fog lights. These housings are a direct replacement for the bumper reflectors.
  7. Dodge finally called me because I took an owner's satisfaction survey, and gave low marks to connectability issues. I lady named Rose called, and she was clueless. Then, I finally got a response to my online question about artwork not displaying, and he was happy to hear that my problem had been resolved with the phone call from Rose! WTF! Rose was kind enough to give me Uconnect's direct line. The girl was somewhat helpful. Uconnect no longer works with Gracenote, and they are working on a fix. I am to call back in a month or so.
  8. I will try to find an update while I'm waiting for Dodge to respond. BTW, what year did they start using the 8.4 in the Journey?
  9. Gracenote is the embedded file on every CD which is the album artwork. When I started copying my CDs to my computer, every once in a while I got a message asking me if I would share my information with Gracenote. Obviously, they did not have some of the artwork files for some of my older original CDs.
  10. My RBZ Mygig was out of a 2014 Town and Country - dealer take out. As I mentioned, all of my art displayed copied directly off of each CD. I will see if my 2014 8.4 has this setting. I spent another hour with Apple Support and they could not figure this out. I emailed Dodge through my owners support page from their website. No word yet.
  11. I downloaded 27 songs to my iPhone, directly from my iTunes library on my computer. These 27 songs happened to be ones that I purchased at the iTunes store. The list on my iPhone showed the Artwork from the 3 albums that the songs came from. Only 1 of the 3 album artworks showed up on the 8.4 Uconnect screen. They are no longer called Mygigs, and either come with Nav or not. Otherwise, no difference. When I had my Nitro with the RBZ, I loaded all of my CDs directly to the hard drive; one by one. A long and tedious process! About 99% of the artwork copied with each CD. The new 8.4 Uconnects have no hard drive. There is an SD slot, a CD slot, a powered USB port, and an AUX port. There is some memory for Favorite Artist or Song, but I don't know how much. I went back to Best Buy today, as suggested by the Apple Tech, and spent about 1/2 hour talking to the Apple Guru. His only conclusion was that the Album Cover code on the 2 that did not show up on the screen was they were old files, that iTunes have not updated. Out of curiosity, I put a CD from 1988 - original, not remastered - and the artwork displayed. So, I find his answer to old artwork files perplexing as the 2 albums whose art did not display are both a lot newer - both from the 90's, both directly downloaded from the iTunes Store. The artwork displays fine on my computer and phone; just not the 8.4 Uconnect. I texted the Apple Support Tech, as she wanted to keep up with my progress, and she gave me the iTunes direct 800 number. I will call them tomorrow. Since my iPhone will not hold all of my music, I will have to get an iPod. I am confident that 99% of the artwork should display because I have now loaded all of my CDs onto my iTunes library on my computer, and should copy to the iPod and thus display on the screen.
  12. OK. I have spent the past two nights, and many hours on the phone with Apple Support. I did find out that once the album artwork is copied into iTunes, it becomes an Apple proprietary file. Therefore, it will only copy to another Apple device. I went into Best Buy to look at iPods, and spoke to the Apple guru there, and he agreed that the files would only be copied to another Apple device. I do not want to spend $250.00 on an iPod if there will be issues with the Artwork displaying on the screen, instead of the generic music note in a gray box. Here's the kicker: while on hold last night with Apple, I came up with the idea of loading a song onto my iPhone 5s to see if the artwork would display on the screen. The Apple Tech was very nice, and wanted to see how the process would work. She called me back on my land line and stepped me through the process. I tried to copy 1 song. When I got out to the car, I had 27 songs, from 3 of the Albums that I downloaded from iTunes in the past week or so. I plugged the phone into the radio; all the songs showed up on a list but only 1 of the 3 album's artwork displayed. The other two showed up as the generic music note. Again, these were downloaded from iTunes. She talked to many people at Apple, but no one had an answer. She gave me her contact information and told me to let me know if I make any progress.
  13. Does anyone know how to copy an iTunes Library to an SD card and include the Album Artwork? The music copied fine, but all I got was the generic music note to display on the screen. I called Apple Support last night and they told me the only way to copy the music and art was to copy it to another Apple device, such as an iPod. Is this true? I realize that Apple only supports Apple products but seems odd that Dodge would add an SD slot if the Art would not display. Thanks
  14. Anyone installed these? I found a set of Mopar lights that replace the reflectors in the rear bumper.
  15. I was going to ask the same question because the controls for heated seats are located in the 8.4" screen. My Dealer has an accessory installer. The parts dept. left a message for him to call me, so I'm waiting to see what he says.
  16. Can heated seats be added to a 2014 with the 8.4" screen? The controls for the heated seats are located in the screen!
  17. I am having the camera installed as we speak. Tech thought that the car was already wired for the camera because there was a harness with a jack that plugged in. No good. Maybe this is for the back up sensors in the bumper. The camera replaces the black assembly above the rear license plate, including the lights. Can you give me more information on the heated seats, as they are controlled by the touch screen? Thank you.
  18. I read somewhere in this post about swapping HUs with the 8.4" screen. Right now, my 2 week old DJ has been at my dealer for 4 days to install a BU camera. All of the interior panels are either off, or loose on the driver's side. The third row left seat is out. The plastic storage area behind the third row is out. The control panel below the screen is out. If a sub is supposed to be installed on the driver's side of the third row, there doesn't look like there is enough room for an 8" sub! Maybe it is a 6X9! LOL Back to the HU. The screen is still in the car. There is a silver box on the passenger front seat. It looks like the old Mygigs, but without a screen. This is where the speakers plug in, along with the antennas, back up camera and power. It also has the slots for the CD player and the SD Card. I do not know how it would be possible to swap out this HU. If you want to add an amp (I did this in my Nitro that I traded for the DJ), You cut the speaker wires as they leave the silver box (HU?), and solder in speaker wire-to-RCA jacks to the cut wires running to the speakers. Then run these RCAs to the amp. The return wires from the amp will be a speaker wire harness. This harness gets soldered to the wires running to the speakers. Swap out your speakers, and you are done. This operation has no effect on the CanBus. Try and find a set of speakers for the front that have a crossover to convert the dash speakers to tweeters only. I think that the speaker wires for the dash come from the front doors. At least my Nitro was this way. Or, just add one. Hope this helps you guys in some way. I was wishing that my DJ came with the system upgrade, but now I am glad it did not. Alpine makes a small, powerful amp that should fit under the passenger front seat; if that is where you are saying that the factory front amp is installed. There is a factory amp on ebay for $150, but I think I will pass after reading this!
  19. Before you go to the dealer, disconnect the negative terminal on your battery for at least 30 minutes for radio issues. This will reset the computer, purging any memory; sort of like a computer restart. Reconnect the terminal and see what you get.
  20. Welcome to the forum. I have had my 2014 Journey Crossroad for about 2 weeks. I keep the display in the middle on MPGs. So far, about 16.3, all city driving. 20 would be nice. We'll see as it breaks in.
  21. Thank you. I installed one myself in my 2011 Nitro which I traded for the Journey. I had previously installed a Lockpick on my RBZ Mygig, so it was very easy to integrate as the Lockpick supports up to 4 cameras. With the 8.4" screen, I did not have a clue how the radio worked. Now I do; and I should now be able to install anything related to the radio. I would like to add an amp, and upgrade the 6 standard crap paper speakers. I installed a sub in the Nitro and was not really happy with the sound; so, no need to install a sub this time. I was happy to give the Tech time to do the install correctly. In the two weeks that I have owned the Journey, I did not hear one rattle! So, I'm hoping for this again.
  22. bidstr got it right. If you open the lid, push the release button on the underside at the back, it allows the console lid to slide backwards. Then close the lid, and push it to the closed position. Then lift on the release button, but don"t pull up on the lid, and the lid will slide back far enough to fully expose that little tray that locks towards the front. This is what one of the salesmen told me today while I was having the camera installed. Now, to the camera. I found one on ebay for $288, but my dealer will not warrantee it. Parts had one in stock; sorry, I do not remember the exact price; maybe around $340. It replaces the black piece where the license plate lights are. The book says 2 hours installation: $178.00 quoted for installation by my dealer! Well, I brought the Truck (?) (Dodge considers the Journey a Truck) in at 8 am, thinking 2 hours. Around noon, the Tech was at lunch; I snuck into the service area through a back door! The plastic storage box behind the third row was sitting on the roof rails, the left rear third row seat was out, all of the interior pieces along the driver's side were either loose or out. The heater controls below the 8.4" screen were out, the trim pieces on either side of it were out were out and there was a big silver box on the passenger side floor. When the tech got back from lunch, I asked him what the silver box was. it is basically the radio where the CD and SD slots are. On the back were the female connectors for the power, speakers, and antennas; just like the old Mygigs but without the screen! I decided to take the shuttle home. The shuttle brought me back around 5 and a little visual progress was made. The camera was installed. There were already wires up front that would plug into the camera socket, but they didn't work. Maybe they are for the back up sensors. Anyway, it is now Friday night, and my Journey is still in pieces in the shop. Hopefully, they will have it done Monday. The poor kid had never done one of the new Journey's with the big screen. My dealer has always been fair and treated me well, so I am not mad at all - just car-less for the weekend. I did not ask for a loaner; they probably would have given me one if I asked. To be continued! LOL
  23. Hello. My name is Dave, from Fort Wayne Indiana and I just purchased a 2014 Dodge Journey Crossroad. So far, I love it. The one thing that I can not figure out is why the console lid slides backwards on two metal rods. I can't find this in the owners manual anywhere. The CD Owners Manual Crashed my computer, so I am going to ask for a new one when I visit my Dealer on Friday to have a back up camera installed.
