As an added benefit, the backup camera aims right down on the hitch ball, which makes hitching your trailer a quick one-person operation. I get the ball right under the camper in one, maybe two shots.

Side Mirror Switch

Should be a warranty matter - give your dealership a call to schedule an appointment to have it replaced. -
I paced like an expectant father!

Thanks! I love the color. So does my wife. It's highly subjective, though - there are many who can't stand it. It may be for that reason that we drive the only Copper Pearl Journey in our area. We have a Copper Journey AVP in stock at my dealership and I'm quite surprised that it hasn't sold yet. The sticker price is about 20K on it, and with all the rebates it costs about the same as a good used car. For a family looking for a good, roomy, stylish car with a respectable level of standard equipment, it's hard to beat. My store ordered that particular car for the local hospital's fundraising raffle. The lady in charge of the raffle committee saw my wife at the school bus stop in our Journey, loved the car and the color, and decided that is what should be raffled off this year. The winner of the raffle opted for the cash prize instead. So...the car remains unsold! Until then, we have the only one in town in this color!

Still in D1 status. I suspect it'll get built sometime late next week or next weekend - they have a tentative schedule for loading it onto a truck on the 28th of this month.

Battery Died... now check engine light
Journeyman425 replied to ckl's topic in Engine & Transmission
The low battery voltage code is common after a dead battery. The Autostick code P0957 is likely a glitch related to the battery condition, especially if all transmission functions are normal. Is your battery original? If so, replace it - after five years and a complete drain, it is done. When you disconnect the battery to replace it, all the codes will then be erased. -
Side Mirror Switch

I stand corrected - just came back from a short drive and the switch is indeed illuminated when the headlamps are on. 2013 Crew. -
Congrats and welcome - very nice car!

Side Mirror Switch
Journeyman425 replied to Woah322's topic in Glass, Lighting, Mirrors, Sun Roofs & Wipers
I *don't* think so - but my wife now has the car at work and won't be home with it until the morning. The window switches yes, but I think the only illumination in the mirror switch is when the left or right button is depressed, then an amber light illuminates to confirm that the side you chose has been activated. After a few seconds the light times out. -
Many salespeople do not know their respective lineups very well, sometimes not at all. The turnover rate for auto salespeople is very high. It's often hard to find the same person that sold you the car when it's time to trade for a new one. Small-town stores generally fare better in this respect but somtimes cannot offer the exact same number on the exact same car from a bigger store. Does the dealership you visited have a Journey in stock that you are interested in? Either way, consider re-visiting them near the end of the month with an offer of what you are willing to pay for the model of your choice based on your research. If they need another sale or two to hit their sales goal for the month, they will find a way to make you a deal. Once that sales number is reached (it is determined by Chrysler), there is factory-to-dealer cash retrocative to all the cars sold for that given month. Your sale could be the one that allows them to reach that goal. The pencils get surprisingly sharp in those scenarios.

There is also this STAR case which discusses aftermarket accessory installations and how they can affect your vehicle. This document would not apply if your vehicle is stock or uses genuine Mopar Accessories which fully integrate into the vehicle's wiring architecture. I'm posting it for everyone's knowledge and information: STAR Case This document does not authorize warranty repairs. This communication documents a record of past experiences. STAR Center Online does not provide any conclusions about what is wrong with the vehicle. Rather, it captures all previous cases known that appear to be similar or related to the vehicle symptom / condition. Case Number: S1308000232 Release Date: 07/31/2014 Symptom/Vehicle Issue Battery Drain, Multiple DTC’s, Aftermarket Installation, Conditions, And Causes Discussion: Special design considerations are incorporated into this vehicle's electronic systems to optimize the performance and operation. Any aftermarket accessory installations altering the operation of the current circuit functions including load shedding power sources should be considered and installed only by trained personnel. Aftermarket installations affecting our systems have involved, routing of wiring along with the connections to direct power sources, connections to load shedding power sources and grounding locations. Some documented symptoms created from these installations have been, battery drain, navigation system and cluster continuous boot up, erratic warning lamp illumination and potential multiple modules setting no communication DTC’s. These are some of the conditions that have been attributed to aftermarket installations. Review any suspect conditions combined with a potential aftermarket installation to define the appropriate repair action. In some cases identifying if the vehicle is going into a bus sleep state, vehicle off minimal IOD and remaining in that state as expected, can help identify any add on component issues. Verification could be done through IOD monitoring for power up and down cycles showing higher then expected ignition off draw. Also monitor ground and power side spikes of unwanted voltage. Some Examples : - Aftermarket alarm systems o These could potentially be wired in to some lighting system within the vehicle which could have enough draw to cause load shed mitigation - Aftermarket lighting systems o Examples: Off-road lighting (typically found on JK), interior lighting enhancements, or high power front headlamps. These could potentially be wired in to some lighting system (s), including ignition and ground circuits within the vehicle. Remove after market equipment to check for a change with the involved power supply circuits and grounds. - Aftermarket audio systems o Examples: Radios, Amplifiers, DVD Players And Screens o These could have enough draw to cause load shed mitigation (probably on a different circuit)

Found a STAR case today - this is something that should be checked while at the shop if it has not been already: STAR Case This document does not authorize warranty repairs. This communication documents a record of past experiences. STAR Center Online does not provide any conclusions about what is wrong with the vehicle. Rather, it captures all previous cases known that appear to be similar or related to the vehicle symptom / condition. Case Number: S1408000148 Release Date: 06/25/2014 Symptom/Vehicle Issue: Intermittent No Start, Battery Drained Diagnosis: Intermittently the vehicle will not start because the battery has been drained. IOD (Ignition Off Draw) has jumped above the acceptable level of 35ma. Repair Procedure: Check the vehicle for IOD draw while applying pressure at the glove door at the area of the contact switch. If the draw changes, adjust or add the required shim pad to allow full switch contact to complete. Use NVH kit contact pads by size required or individual parts 05109628AA, 68073904AA. Switch contact bumper on glove box door. Verification: Review for excessive IOD draw to complete.

Chrysler's DealerConnect site is down, so I can't check for any service bulletins or STAR cases which might help shed some light on your situation. Sounds to me like something in the car is "waking up" intermittently without any input from you, causing the battery to drain. When DealerConnect comes back up tomorrow, I'll do some more investigating for you.

There were several radio flashes that year. I checked the TSB's and none of them specifically mention this issue, but a flash may solve the problem regardless. Your dealer can plug into the car and see what applies, if any. If there are fault codes, then a diagnostic trace procedure will ensue based on the code(s) present. Keep us posted!

I really love the car. I have said this numerous times in this forum - I did not expect to like it as much as I do. I've owned a 300M for 14 years and always thought that car would be a tough act to follow (I still drive it). But this car comes very close in overall driving dynamics, and in some areas exceeds it. The steering is quick and and very accurate. The brakes are very powerful and the pedal feel is right on. The build quality is excellent and and I've only had one problem with the car so far. It now has 26,700 miles. It is library quiet inside. But really, the best thing about it overall is that it's a perfect fit for my family. We always have enough room and there's so much useful and thoughtful storage. We're very comfortable in it and it feels very safe.

Hi Ray - welcome to the forum! First let me thank you for all of your efforts at Chrysler over your 28 year career there - they have turned out some fantastic products with your help! I ran your VIN ( I work for a dealer) and your Journey went from D status (firm schedule, VIN assigned) to D1 which refers to what they call "gateline" - your VIN is now sequenced for production. No production date has been assigned but it will probably be built in about two weeks. MIne took about six weeks from order to delivery. Ordered April 6, 2013, built on the 25th, delivered to my store May 15. I was driving on the 18th. I'll watch it for you. Something's up with Chrysler's Vehicle Order Tracking System (VOTS) as mentioned to you in another thread, otherwise you'd be able to track it yourself. It's cool; I watched it on both VOTS and DealerConnect while mine was being built. The Crossroad is a very cool vehicle indeed; you will love it.

What make/model and size tires were they? 100K is unheard of. My first set of OEM 225/55/17 Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 lasted 70,000 miles on my 300M and still had 2/32" tread depth when I replaced them. I never expected that...and never duplicated it, either. Next set went 65K, and from then on they've never lasted longer than 50-55K miles.

It's a highly useful feature for a two-driver car like our Journey is. With the 300M, pressing the unlock button on the remote puts the mirrors, driver's seat and the radio presets all back to my settings. When my wife uses the car, they all go back to her settings with her remote. Certainly not necessary but it is very, very convenient. JKeaton is correct in that those features are usually reserved for flagship models. The Durango, Grand Cherokee, and Chrysler 300 represent their respective top of the line.
