DodgeCACares got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in hesitation on acceleration
    jacfen,
    Welcome to the forum.
This shudder or hesitation could be caused by any number of components.
Considering this is something happening often, I'd recommend scheduling a visit to your local Dodge dealer for an inspection.
You'll be able to take a quick test drive with Service staff and determine what the cause is.
Keep us posted if you can.

    Blackout,
Hard to say what it could be without hearing the noise.
Based on your description though, it could be related to the power steering system.
I'd suggest getting over to your Dodge Service Facility for an inspection.

    Journey_SeXT,
You are correct in saying that the system cannot monitor the type of oil or the condition.
Essentially, the The PCM continually monitors numerous sensor inputs to determine the duty-cycles to which the engine is being subjected. A pre-programmed algorithm within the PCM then determines when to light up the indicator lamp.
So it's a bit more complicated than one might think however regular oil changes even if every 5000 kms is advantageous.

    Tropper,
This vehicle is very well equipped and is a dream to drive. The 3.6L engine is phenomenal all around and the AWD makes it ideal for all seasons in Canada.
Sounds like the vehicle has extended warranty which only adds to the peace of mind you'll be getting with this reliable platform.
I'd recommend this vehicle all day long, be sure to do a good walk around as with any used vehicle.

    Journey_SeXT,
I wouldn't recommend waiting until the maximum allowance if for example the vehicle is telling you to change the oil. The indicator system doesn't work at random like some may believe rather calculates all the relevant conditions affecting oil life in said vehicle.
In other words, the manual has a specified maximum allowance but your vehicle may require a change long before this increment.

I would strongly recommend visiting a Dodge Service Facility.
Any hesitancy at all is a good indicator that it's best to leave it to the pros so to speak.

The V6 is a great choice for the DJ, really brings the whole package together as I'm sure many would agree.

I would imagine this wasn't the Master Shield version of undercoating...
I'd caution anyone from getting any 3rd party Service Contracts or protection plans.
Chrysler Canada nor the dealership has any control over 3rd parties which can lead to some unpleasant surprises for the Customer.

Not bad fuel mileage at all!
I've found the DJ does very well on the highway, even at higher speeds. Makes for a good vehicle for traveling.

    whitesxt,
Out of all the Journeys I've heard start up, I haven't observed a single one that didn't have a slight noise on start up in cold conditions.
Now having said that, are you noticing this in other conditions such as warm weather or after having driven the vehicle?
There aren't any common issues to speak of however it would be worth getting this to the attention of your dealer in the off chance there is a real condition present.

DodgeCACares got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in Journey sxt 2013 rolling back on drve shift even on slight incline
    Armand Savet,
This is normal operation and nothing to worry about.
Some vehicles have hill assist so this doesn't happen, mostly on manual transmissions though.
If you're on a big grade, be sure to use you brake and this won't be an issue.

    Journey_SeXt,
You're welcome, I'm a firm believer in dissecting an issue and trying to find a credible solution rather than passing the buck so to speak.
But there are times where a visit to the dealer is the best option, I like to try and give you guys something in hand before sending you over though.
It can make those service visits that much easier!

    Camper,
I found a TSB that may be related if you're also hearing a noise from the HVAC system as described by @Blackout.
The door/cover for the cabin air filter may not be properly seated which will cause a whistle type noise.
If your dealer finds a gap and it's not properly secured, then the door/cover will need to be replaced.
    Hope that helps, cheers!

DodgeCACares got a reaction from jkeaton in I don't know if I can tow anything!!!
    squinn,
As rolly mentioned, you can tow 1,000 lbs with the 2.4L engine in your Journey.
Most of the carts I've seen don't seem that heavy but I suppose the weight climbs quickly when you stock it.
There must be a model name or serial number you can check, with that info., a quick internet search should tell you it's weight.
The DJ equipped with the 2.4L 4 cylinder engine isn't at the forefront of towing however short trips around the city should be fine so long as you comply with the towing capacity.

    burdnick,
My first thought was something in the tread like a stone but that doesn't seem to be the case based on your assessment.
Given the fact the vehicle is under warranty, I recommend booking an appointment with your servicing Dodge dealer.
Your dealer should be able to identify this problem easily and repair accordingly.
Keep us posted on here if you have any new updates, thanks.

    Journeyman425,
A decent amount of folks in the office are driving DJ's and have reported numbers all over the place so I wasn't able to see a pattern.
Just comes down to environmental factors, driver habits etc.

DodgeCACares got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in Persistently blowing power steering hose
    dfp57,
Sorry to hear you've been having this happen repeatedly.
The problem here is the extreme cold temperatures, it causes the P/S fluid to gel and create too much pressure and ultimately burst the lines etc.
I've been in discussions with the platform advocate for the Journey and he's been tracking this issue. So far each instance has been case by case, however the use of synthetic P/S fluid has been promising.
