onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from PGRChaplain in Supercharged
Don't get played by electric superchargers. They've been myth busted many times. It's a big scam/joke.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from jkeaton in 09 R/T vs 12 SXT
It'll be gutless in the 4. I haven't heard anyone on this forum say that they love the 4 cylinder and would never want the 6. There's no point to the 4, except that it's a slightly lower purchase price. Gas mileage seems to be the same between both engines...yet you get almost 100 extra HP in the 6.

Does the DJ manual say to flush or drain the transmission? I don't know how to read the manual

I always join a forum and research everything before buying a new/used vehicle. It's the best way to gather REAL research data. Can't trust consumer reports or any other crap out there that "independantly" review vehicles.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from jkeaton in Brake upgrade inquiry
Couldn't have said it better. ANYTHING other than oem is an upgrade on this vehicle. I went with the Calahan set for all 4 corners (sold on Amazon, under $200) and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. Normally I would stray from a cheap kit like that, but 40k miles later and still issue free. They work awesome, don't warp, don't make any noise, and are wearing nice and slow. I'd expect to easily get another 40k miles out of them. And my wife is pretty hard on the brakes...

Sounds like you found out the hard way why the previous owner traded it in so soon!

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from Journey_SeXT in Rotors might be gone, but check the pictures
That's why it's just easier to pay a couple hundred bucks and replace all 4 rotors/pads with a different (non-oem) parts. That's what many people on here do with excellent results. It saves you money and time from having to deal with stupid dealer shenanagins. Plus you're getting better parts. You get them replaced at the dealer you'll have the same problem in the future.
Replacing crap parts to begin with, with the same crap parts will only give you crap in the end.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from dhh3 in Reset the "Oil Change Required" warning....HOW?
You push the ignition ON button. First push goes to accessory, second push goes to ON. Then push the accelerator pedal 3 times. Then push the ignition button to off.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from jkeaton in Power steering fluid
You might hear some power steering screaching/whine on startup when it's cold outside. Just top it off to full (or have the dealer do it). Not going to hurt anything (except maybe your ears!).

Excellent news! It's amazing how such a small sensor can F the whole car up! Stupid computers!

How big of a scratch are you talking? If it's small (just a few inches max) I personally would try using the paint pen first. It's only $10-15 and is worth a shot. If it looks like crap afterwards, then it can always be repaired professionally.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from Potlicquor in Anyone have 245/55/19's ?
I'm thinking about getting 245/55/19 tires ordered. It's actually the cheapest/best deal I can find for tires out of all the sizes that fit. They are the Firestone Destination LE2. They are rated very highly; ranked #2 on TireRack. They just don't look as cool as other tires . Can get them for $590 with free shipping.
DragonSlayer, so that size doesn't rub at all when turning or going over bumps?

Oh and don't forget Honda & Toyota....between them and German automakers all others are just sub-standard that are taking up space on the roads. You'll get better reviews of a vehicle and their problems just by visiting the forum (like this one) of a certain make and model and see what the ACTUAL consumers say about THEIR vehicle rather than biased reviews of CRs.

You couldn't have said it better. It's pretty obvious they're being paid out when it's always BMW's and Porsche's "winning" their comparisons. Although I would hope they would win being twice the cost!

If everyone listened to consumer reports US car companies would be out of business.

Well how are they going to work out the bugs if nobody buys the first year model? We need guinea pigs so we can enjoy a better car two years later.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from jkeaton in CarComplaints.com
General rule of thumb is you should avoid buying any make/model in it's first/second year of being released. Let them work out all the bugs on the next gen model. I would go for 2011 and above DJ if I were you.

onecrazyfoo4u got a reaction from jkeaton in Shifting hard/ Possible Buy Back issue
They should make DJ's with the individual driver settings (that typically control seat/steering wheel/pedal position), but then add transmission settings to the mix that's adapted to each driver. That would be GENIUS!

onecrazyfoo4u reacted to B4ZINGA in Appropriate jack points for Journey?
Every car has a sweet spot in between the front and rear axles that enables you to lift the front and rear wheels of that side simultaneously. On my special, it's just rearward of the center of the front door. Journey might be a little further back depending on the weight distribution. As jkeaton pointed out, only jack the car via the frame or side rails. Never on floor pans, oil pans, tranny pans, etc. My Special has a pinch weld along the rockers that I use (I plan on buying a rubber pinch-weld adapter for my floor jack to prevent damage).
