  1. Enjoy the DJ. I'm also in Utah, up on the north side.
  2. We replaced our windshield last year after a giant crack formed. And now, a year later, a huge crack just formed from a tiny little rock chip. Luckily our windshield replacement company gives free lifetime warranty, so I get a free windshield. In nearly 20 years of driving, I've never had to replace a windshield. I have a feeling the DJ windshield build is sub-par quality...
  3. I love the discount tire deals! Time to get another set of Cooper CS5's in 235/55/19. Love this tire. My last set went 50k miles and I still have them on. It'll be $520 shipped for the full set (after $70 and $75 gift cards).
  4. I don't think it would be worth the effort. Those storage bins are so flimsy. Anybody with a crow bar could easily pry them open, breaking the lock.
  5. Seriously, lime green???
  6. And that's exactly why I buy what I like. I don't give a damn what other companies/magazines have to say about the product.
  7. Never heard of that brand. Yikes, 280 tread wear, you'll be replacing those in a year! This isn't a performance vehicle, no need for performance tread tires and tire wear in my opinion...
  8. Haha, that's a new one...never seen that 'mod' before!
  9. Mine broke the first year too. Little dab of super glue has held it on tight the last 4 years! Super glue > plastic.
  10. Soooo, what's the status on this? Or was it just a hoax?
  11. My washer jets broke too. Super glue fixed that up real quick, and it's been problem free for 3 years or so. Original owner, 116k miles on her now!
  12. I couldn't agree more with you. Love the looks of the DJ, one of the best looking crossover soccer mom vehicles! I don't understand the bad reviews...been a perfect vehicle for me 116k miles later! That's exactly why I don't buy into much reviews online. If I like it myself I'm going to get it.
  13. It sounds the alarm! To find your car in a parking lot or whatever. Just push it again to shut it off.
  14. Great advice and steps from bfurth. The only thing I would change is replace the bearings in pairs. Depending on age and vehicle mileage, if one is going, might as well do the other side while you're at it. My 2012 has 115k miles and my bearings are definitely going bad. The make the winding noise as I drive faster...and get louder when I turn either direction at slow speeds. Another check is to raise your front end of the ground and do a wiggle test with the tires still on. See if there's any play side-to-side or up and down. There shouldn't be any play with good bearings.
  15. If you paid $36k for the DJ you got ripped a new one. Bought our new fully loaded crew in 2012 for $25k out the door. Last I checked, inflation is that much...
  16. If you want a perfect match, just leave it to the tint shop. They have meters that can measure the exact tint level on existing rear windows.
  17. Wow, never seen that color of DJ before, I like it! Was that an oem color option back then?
  18. I did it earlier this year and it wasn't really as bad as the instructions looked. Only took about 2 to 2.5 he's doing it in my garage with hand tools. Well worth it to save $600 in labor the dealer would charge for $30 worth of parts. Just follow the pics on the first page and it's pretty easy.
  19. Agreed, this new format is terrible on cell phones and tablets. Much slower than before too...
  20. 7 years old. Math in public is hard sometimes
  21. I always jack it about a foot back from the front jacking point, on the pinch weld. That gets both wheels in the air at the same time, then throw jack stands on the front and back. Never had a problem doing this, and I've done it on all of my prior vehicles this same way...
  22. If it's water it's just condensation runoff from the HVAC system probably. Nothing to worry about.
  23. I changed transmission fluid at almost 100k miles. I just changed the plugs at 104k miles. And now the coolant at 105k miles. First time for each of those three. Basically just following the manual for each of those. The only one I might have done sooner would be plugs. I noticed a drastic mpg increase when I changed them (about 2-3 mpg). Those should have been changed out at about 75k miles or so.
