That requires the 'A' version of the uConnect - we don't get it in our vehicles.

Again, it doesn;t affect DJs because we have no connection to the Internet and will never have - and even then, to hack into a connected vehicle they need that vehicle's network address. Not something readily available at this time.

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in 8.4 uconnect hacker problem!
No. Period. End of story.
It does not affect the Dodge Journey because there is no data connection to the outside world - and even if it did, the likelihood of anyone attacking your vehicle in this way is darned close to absolute zero.

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in How to turn on/off the auto dimmer rear view mirror?
You'll have to do better than that because dhh3 and I both have 2014 Crossroads and we both have 8.4" displays and we both have Bluetooth with the microphone in the dimming mirror.

Unless you figure a way to interface the iPhone screen image to the lockpick, no, you can't

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in Radio Sound Problem
PM - Private Message
You really should have started your own topic - your '09 uses a different radio than those of us with the 2011 and later models - the diagnostics ought to be started at a dealership (noting that dealers can, and do have issues sometimes diagnosing systems, as can be seen in this thread) so that my suggestion is to take it to a dealer for evaluation. While it could be a software issue, perhaps there's a bad connection or corroded wire.
But isn't this something that CarMax has to resolve?

If the update didn't take you need to retry using a different memory stick - I've had my best luck with an ADATA 32 GB class 10 microSD card in a generic USB adapter.

Congrats on finally getting through the process. Enjoy the new ride.
However I do hope that your extended warranty is FCA branded - aftermarket warranties are usually way too restrictive and have lots of loopholes.

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in Cracking leather
I noticed two 'folds' in the leather seats of mine when I picked it up in December and the service manager and I looked at his (he drives a demo) which had the same pleats and the ones in the showroom.
If they are replacing the seat covers (they will not be replacing the entire seats, unless I am mistaken), then likely your cosmetic problem will recur.
Can you post photos, of both your vehicles? I'd like to take another run at my dealer, if indeed I can get the seats to be perfect. At least when it recurs I can be the one to have caused the problem.

Katzskins were offered as accessory leather seat covers for people who bought vehicles that came with cloth interiors.
I have no clue who makes the OEM seat covers, but it doesn't much matter. The manual SHOULD tell you how to care for them (don't know because my manual never arrived and I haven't bothered to download the online version.

You will find switched power at the front power outlet below the radio and aircon controls - it isn't hard to get to. You'll also find switched power in the fuse block that is behind and below the glove box. I used that to operate the GPS in my last Journey, but no longer since I have the OEM navigation radio in the '14.
But wait. Don't you already have a backup camera? I thought R/Ts in Canada have them as standard equipment . . . . .
If there is no backup camera you have another option if you want to go that route, you can plug the receiver into the video input of your OEM radio and have the dealer enable the backup camera by programming the sales code - you could see the image on the dash screen.

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in Carry lots of passengers?
They call it a CUV for a very good reason. The 3rd row is acknowledged to be cramped and not easy to get into. It is intended for youths, not adults, though as you proved, it can be done.
If this is a rarity, then it will do, but if you plan a cross-country road trip I'd suggest putting the miles on a relative's Expedition or Yukon if you are looking for comfort for six (or even 5) adults.

There is no diminished value coverage up here . . . .
They can fix it fine, but VERIFY that you got OEM parts - insurance companies (even government owned ones) like to play games and unscrupulous dealers do too.
If you can be there when they bring in the parts you can verify that they are from Dodge and bear Dodge parts labels.
As me how I know.

Remember the mantra for modern vehicles; OEM extended warranties are relatively inexpensive insurance. So reserve enough money to get one because if anything goes wrong after the basic warranty expires it can be extremely expensive.

My silver Crossroad exhibits color differences as well, but I have decided to live with the problem . . . . .
You indicated that your local service manager and you are not on the best of terms - I wonder if he even submitted the request?
You might want to check around to see if any one local dealer is known for better body work than the next before handing it in for the work.

I'd roll it by the dealer and have them remove it since it is a result of improper preparation.

bramfrank got a reaction from dhh3 in DJ shredding tyres???
1. The number on the door sill is the value for the best efficiency - it is *not* the minimum, but it is not the maximum either. For lower rolling resistance raise it a bit, for better grip, a *bit* lower may help.
2. Different tires have different maximum tire pressures. The number on the sidewall is the maximum pressure under the full load. Do not inflate to this value under normal circumstances.

bramfrank got a reaction from Chris La Mantia in How much does it cost to buy a new key/fob
If you decide go go for an eBay unit be aware that once a FOB has been paired to a vehicle it cannot be changed. You MUST buy a new, factory fresh FOB.
