I've always picked up a couple of AGS single packs when working on my battery. They're silicone based and have made a huge difference.

I would first ask you, what have you done so far to try to fix the problem, if anything. I don't think this is just a DJ issue, I truly believe this is a 'newer' car type of issue. I've dealt with three cars now that had the same type of issue and with all three cars we have completely cleaned out the ground wire where attached (remove any corrosion, wire brush the paint at the connection, and added anti-oxidation gel/stuff), and the issues have gone away on all three cars. With all the systems on these newer cars, making sure the ground is securely connected to a clean metal surface is necessary. Adding an extra ground is just avoiding fixing the issue itself. And if I look really closely at the car on the video, it looks like they cleaned the original surface itself (see pic). That was probably the fix without having to take the extra step. Anyway, that's where I would start, then go to the fuse box and relays to see if there is some corrosion in those areas as well. Moisture will create that little bit of corrosion that will effect the electrical.

I won't jump in and try to pull any teeth. You guys can play 100 questions and maybe come up with the answer.

Congrats and as a fellow 4 kid parent, it is truly going to be easier to get into a van. We switched to a van from our Explorer when we had our third, and it was a huge help when our fourth came. Easier for them to get in and out, fit car seats in multiple locations, and we had a full size Ford Windstar that fit a double stroller plus more in the back. As they got older, multiple sports and any trip further than the grocery store, demanded a ton of space for all the stuff we needed to carry. Newer vans even have the additional pit type storage under the floors making it easy to hide stuff. Anyway, that's my advise from actual experience. Good luck...not just with the vehicle.

What happened to the engine? Are we talking a Jiffy Lube type of recommendation, or a full on machine shop to rebuild the engine? Southern CA has a ton of mechanic shops, and depending on which part of SoCal you're in, there may be different suggestions. Depending on what type of work needed, a dealership for a newer car may be the recommendation.

This just seems like a statement of a recent event...unless I am missing the question somewhere in there(???).

Congrats and welcome. Great family car and very dependable (mine at least...don't want to speak for others). Group has been a great help for me so far with more than a few items...thankfully none of them being issues with the car. Enjoy.

I would personally start with the belt. It's definitely the cheapest part of this repair and you don't necessarily have to hear any squealing for them to be bad. Then go from there. Rack or pump, neither is an easy fix. Keep us updated.

Call the dealer and ask for a price and part number. You can then compare the price...but you will have the part number.

Ah, got you. Then definitely check the relay, might be going bad, or you have a frayed wire somewhere (or bad connection)...either one may cause loss of power to the motor.

Why did you have the heads replaced? Were they warped from a previous over heading issue? Did the water pump give out?

I would check the wiper relay or the switch itself. Do you have any issues with your turn signals or high beam? Not sure what you mean by the PARK position not working? You can't get the car in Park, or the light is out?

Sounds like you are doing the typical tests for the problem. Unfortunately anything else would almost be a guess without getting a load test and see if anything is killing your battery. Definitely sounds like an electrical issue, but one person's bluetooth issue doesn't mean it's your issue. Since this could be anything from a bad battery ground to a short in the system, I would hate to try and guess. I would suggest performing a load test while removing fuses and then maybe a more extensive one. Good luck...

Great update and very well appreciated. Glad Dodge stood up and fixed your issue. Another positive when it comes to domestic. Anyway, I'm still thankful of my decision to buy my DJ. Hoping it gets handed down to my daughter who is getting her license soon and I get the new model.

Best guess would be some oil type spoil on the belt or belt surface. Or just a loose belt that's slipping.

All great suggestions, or guesses really, but let's be honest there just isn't enough information to really be helpful. As mentioned, which side is it coming from? Have you crawled under there to try and see where it's coming from (you really don't even need to jack it up)? Does it have a color? All your going to get are guesses at best. There are normal fluids disbursed from cars, and there are abnormal fluids. If you really want help, you need to narrow it down in order for people to give you good advise.

Rough couple of days at work, and out of the blue two of my kids stop by just because. I got to hang out with them in my office, they brought me a tasty snack, and I got a smile on my face. Appreciate the little things... Nice topic jkeaton.

It's happened to me. Usually fixes itself the next day. Not sure why it happens, but it hasn't been a big enough deal to concern me.
