I had that happen once-going up a steep driveway, TC cut power ENTIRELY. solved with a quick hit of the button. Glad its on the centre console.

    Well....
I cant describe in glowing enough terms what this truck can do. Its like a tank, I dont know why. Its so soild on the road no matter what the conditions. The traction control is subtle and does what it should without inhibiting driving. I can also easily shut it off if I need to to get in a hilly driveway, etc as the button is right there on the centre console. I feel very safe with my family in this truck. We have put off the purchase of snow tires due to christmas, new baby etc and I worried endlessly about it. But Dodge comes through with a winner. I think I'll go hug my journey now.
I would love to hear how others find the truck...especially front wheel drive owners.

I haven't had mine long enough to drive it in snow. I'm happy to hear yours performed well.
Personally, I've never had issue with snow in any of my FWD vehicles with all season tires and I live in a hilly area. Even with our Neon I was getting around quite well.
I have a set of winter tires that I will probably put on the DJ next month that I have sitting in my garage.
My FWD Jeep Cherokee got around in the snow too:

Correct. As bramfrank said you need to change the setting using the stereo display.

Between my registration and insurance, I drive a Dodge Truck Station Wagon. People tend to give me a sideways look when I call it the Shaggin' Wagon. Meh.

It's referred to by many things. Mine says it's a truck. Different with insurance companies also. I would not worry about it too much.

I live in Ft Erie Ontario [across the river from Buffalo] and just bought my '11 Journey R/T AWD. Am looking forward to seeing how this bad boy handles the winter roads here. I'm not worried about it, since I am a semi retired trucker and former snow plow driver. Snowy roads are just a distraction for me.I get more angry with other drivers who should stay home in a storm, though. Now that I am getting older , I decided to trade my FWD Impala sedan for this SUV for the sake of comfort and safety. Getting to the idea of using 2 snow tires, BAD idea for anyone.. in fact, it is illegal in Ontario for a tire shop to mix winter and all-season treads, for obvious safety reasons. Kind of like wearing one bedroom slipper and one winter boot when you go out. Not smart, ever. Use the same type tire for all four or either type.

In snow, I try to not use my 4x4 in my Dakota. The thing to remember is that 4WD and AWD help you get going, but they don't help you stop! That's where the biggest problems are often realized.
    Peace.

The front seat head rests are designed to tilt from the bottom (hinged at the top) for driver and passenger comfort. In the event of a sufficient collision, they will deploy (also pushes out from the top) to reduce neck injuries.

    Hi All,

Helped a friend load a coffee table into their Kia Sporatge on the weekend. Well tried to anyway but the middle seats don't fold flat so the coffee table legs hit the roof . So it got me thinking about all the little things I appreciate in my Dodge Journey

Flat folding middle seats Under floor storage indicators that flash 3 times with just a flick Front head rest tilt forward at the bottom (so passanger can use a pillow on those 1000km trips ) I am sure there are heaps more that I havent mention, but it just goes to reminded me what a brilliant vehcile the Dodge Journey is

Does well in light snow in a relatively flat area. Ours did not do well last year on a trip to New York. But that was driving in mountainous terrain with 4-6" of snow on the ground. Once I turned traction control off, I was able to power up the road we were on. With TC on, the car just came to a dead stop as, once slippage was detected, it cut power to the wheels, so your sitting there flooring it and nothing is happening.

We had a lot of snow the last two winters and never had a problem. Of course the terrain is very flat in our area, but even driving in other parts of Ontario the front wheel drive performed excellently. I think it comes down to driving to the weather conditions and also the extra ground clearance doesn't hurt. I don't drive in blizzard or white out conditions. I love my DJ!

I have AWD, but I do agree that it handles the snow quite well. This year I bought snow tires for the first time in my life and so far the ground is still bare. Go figure...
