  1. Went to coast tire/good year. had good luck with them. A rebuilt alternator was tx in $735. Canadian dollars. WOW.
  2. YUP. they flashed the PCM and its never come on since. there is a TSB out about it.
  3. I had to get my dealer to flash my ECM to remove a false positive for a thermostat issue. Apparently there is a TSB about it. When I get access to my paperwork I'll let you all know what the code was.
  4. Its been ultra cold here in atlantic Canada and it killed my battery. Guess this was what was turning on the CEL. Not an "exhaust" code.
  5. It was not at the rear. at the front. he found the issue, didnt tell me what the code was but he know before looking at the code
  6. turns out it was an "exhaust related code'. that exhaust pipe just behind the bumper had its bolts rusted right off and was allowing some fumes to escape, triggering the code. A couple new bolts and boom. quiet truck again. Anyone else had this happen?
  7. I have an appoitnment monday. I shall report back.
  8. I got a CEL light in -26 degrees weather Went away when temp went to -10 C. engine has been running "throatier" at idle (does not show when you step on gas) for sometime. I wonder will some sort of sensor do this? I dont want to go get code read and spend $$$...
  9. Apparently rain-x and dodge trucks are an issue too....
  10. Idiot light doing what it should-letting idiots know something needs needs tending
  11. I use the yellow rain-x for de-icing and it seems to causing same issue...
  12. I just wanted to share this. My 2011 TPS light when on and I immediate thought it was the sensor. But, turns out these things work on occasion lol. Put proper pressure in and BOOM-works like a charm, no light.
  13. It looked just like a shock that has blown a seal. Oil all down the hatch. When I took the shock off, you could pull the arm out with your hand. Wife said when it blew it sounded like a snake in the back hatch
  14. I had to replace my rear hatch arms--seals blew out. I could not find the ones that matched so went with ones a hair bigger. My question is could a longer arm make the hatch not close all the way? I have to take a pic of the rear and ask opinions. I thought a longer arm would just make the piston not be fully extended when the hatch was up....did not think any difference when closed.
  15. Can you get the TSB work done even if you have over 100K KM on a 2014?
  16. Mines only in super cold weather...below 0 degrees Celsius. The wife relies on the truck to move the kids around so may have to have it looked at. Thanks
  17. Upon start up in cold weather the belt whines until warm. I dont think this is tightness issue as it would not stop when warm... what causes this? Is it even the fan belt?
  18. I noticed this truck the two large mufflers leak aLOT of water after running the truck. I know that condensation runs out of them on occasion and have seen other cars do this too but sometimes it can be a pool almost hand sized. I wonder if others have this experience. I know there are no holes as the exhaust note is fine and I have checked as well.
  19. Coming to work today Dec27 noticed a guy in a brand new chev 4x4 *ALL OVER* the road. we had maybe 5 cm down, and it was that slippery stuff. he did not have any weight in the back end, and goes to show you 4x4 does not mean you are invincible. It actually might mean the reverse, as sometimes it seems to be-engage 4x4 transfer case=disengage brain
  20. Thats one thing a lot of people dont realize. A winter tire has a softer compound that works better when the roads are cold even without snow or ice. I believe the temp is 7 degrees where all seasons start to lose their traction.
  21. Last night we had a massive storm, and the DJ worked great. Even on ice where the snow was packed hard and the salt had yet to burn its way through. The truck is just solid on the road. Got into my driveway easy as well. No complaints
