  1. I just recently installed the factory hitch and factory wiring harness on my '17 DJ w/LED lights. So far, so good... everything works flawlessly. Just a note for the "not working" harness. When I checked mine initially, I thought it was not working either. Got solid voltage for brake and tail lights, but hardly a flicker for turn signals, Voltage flashed so quickly my meter almost didn't pick it up. If you experienced a similar problem, maybe a test lite might be better. I hooked up my trailer and everything was fine.

I'm sure some of you will remember member Rolly. I just found out he passed away recently. RIP Rolly. http://windsorstar.com/news/local-news/windsor-labour-activist-rolly-marentette-passes-away
  3. As far as I know, it still works. i clicked on it, and then the equipment listing on the left, and it brought up a place I could input my vin... it says something about "experienceing a temporary outage". Maybe it's gone for good, maybe temporary. I would suggest trying again later.
  4. I was told by the service advisor that this was a common problem.. not the brake hose, but the dirty and sticky calipers. He claimed it was due to excessive brake dust causing the caliper not to slide. Would have never thought about the restricted hose.
  5. Yes, I would think so. Wheel, brakes, rotors, and whatever else would be necessary to remove the hub/bearing assembly from the end of the axle. I've not done one on the DJ, but on 2 Grand Caravans, and one Taurus it was necessary, Shoot... just reread your post... the caliper "fell off"??!! I'd be screaming mad at whatever idiot did the work on it! The calipers are held on via 2 slider pins(bolts)... only way it comes off is if it wasn't put on properly.
  6. i just removed the one on my '15.. pretty easy actually, and no special tools needed. Pretty much EXACTLY as described in the pics posted. Only difference was the 2 screws on mine were not Torx, but standard bolts.. think they were 8mm.
  7. Not that I know of... AFAIK, you forget to shut it off, it runs until it runs out of gas.
  8. Yes, hardly a maintenance problem when it leaks from day one, like mine did, and still does for that matter. It doesn't leak during rain, but it DOES leak when taken thru a car wash. According to the service advisor, Chrysler will NOT warranty leaks of this nature, just those that occur during normal rain storms.
  9. Region 1 is the correct region for North America..... not sure if there is a place to change that in the setup or not. Have you tried different DVDs? i know you said you looked at them in the store, but did you actually put a different one in the player? It might be something as simple as the one you tried is defective.
  10. My question would be "Why?" I have 3rd row seating in mine... no choice, FCA dictated that was the only thing available here in Canada. What a waste! 3rd row seats are all but useless.. way too small to be of any use IMHO.
  11. I'm thinking you're right... took a closer look at the one I have and it DOES have the vertical mount, exactly like the one in the instructions I found. Ball mounts for this hitch run around $55 on Amazon, and only one height so if I have a different height trailer I can't get a different one to compensate for it. I l haven't paid the guy for it yet.. might just give it back and say thanks, but no thanks.
  12. Well, Google is INDEED my friend here.... I did another search and found this: Mopar hitch Not sure how I missed it before, but I did and that's that. Not exactly the same as this one has the reciever in a vertical position?? and mine is the standard horizontal position. This shows the 2 pieces that I wasn't completely sure about, and they go pretty much where I figured they went. Instructions call for removal of facia, AND metal bumper.
  13. Thanks, found that one already. Not the same hitch. Yes, I do realize that it mounts to the same points on the DJ, but mine has those 2 extra pieces that I have to figure out where they go.
  14. OK, to revisit this... I have this hitch in hand finally and it is a factory hitch, not an aftermarket like I first thought. I've got the hitch and the hardware kit (nuts, bolts, and a couple of brackets) but NO instruction sheet. He's looking for it, but so far no joy. Hitch installation is pretty basic, but the 2 brackets confuse me a bit. I "think" they go over the rear frame members before the hitch is bolted in place, but just guessing at this point.
  15. Thanks for all the suggestions. $120U$ is about 155Cdn or so.. his price to me was $50 so I'm hoping it will fit. Sure can't beat the price! Will check google and see if I can find anything.
  16. Is there a list somewhere that lists what hitch fits what year DJ? I've been offered a "new in the box" hitch for a very reasonable price. My DJ is a '15 Limited and the hitch was purchased for a '10 DJ. A guy at work has it, never used it, and sold his DJ, but can't remember what model it was. He's going to try and get the make and model of hitch this w/e and let me know on Monday. Hopefully I can check with manufacturer and see if it will fit mine.
  17. I've had the "key fob not found" problem, as well as the intermittent non-functioning fob for a while now... finally had the opportunity to take it in to have it checked. Also (finally!) had the time to get the recall on the powersteering hose taken care of. Apparently, my fob had an internal short which was causing the issue. A new key fob and, so far, the problem is solved. Of course, it's only been 1 day....
  18. Tire shops here used to plug tires, but now they are not allowed to. They must remove the tire and install a patch/plug combination from the inside. I've used plugs for years and never had an issue, but I guess there was enough cases of the plug coming out that Big Brother decided they weren't safe any longer.
  19. Are these connectors the same ones Chrysler has been using for a while now? A connector with a stud on it that the cable connects to? If they are, a standard marine battery connector works just fine as a replacement. Of course, this will only work if there is room for it in the cavity where the battery sits. Mine is only a year old so I haven't even looked at my battery yet either.
  20. IMHO, for what it's worth, the 3rd row seats are useless. Too small for any but a small child to sit in, and since you're adding to your family, it would be a real PIA to put a car seat in the back.
  21. Why? Who cares... I love to see someone modify a DJ to make it fast. Not something that I personally would do, but I can always admire someone else's ingenuity and talent in something like this. It would certainly be a sleeper for those Saturday nite drag meets.
  22. Nice looking ride Dave. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
  23. No leaks here yet. Just hit 26k km here, about 15k miles I guess. I have heard nothing but good things about the Pentastar engines so far. It is used in a LOT of vehicles.
  24. This was on our '09 Nitro and I really liked it. Too bad they did away with it.
  25. That sounds like a lazy mech to me... a little squirt of brake clean and the spilled fluid would be gone.
