Electrical issue with 2014 Journey

Recommended Posts

I have a 2014 Journey sxt 3.6 front wheel drive. Every 6-7 weeks, it decides to have electrical problems and won't start. All 3 times have happened while I was parked in Phoenix Shy Harbor parking garage. The car has <9,000 miles and my dealership can't find anything wrong. All they've done when I take it in is "run software updates". They say they've tested the battery and it's not the culprit. Any ideas?

Not nearly enough info to help... What are the symptoms? A vehicle could "not start" in a multitude of ways.

So it sounds like it only happens when you park the vehicle for long amounts of time? If so, there must be some slow drain on the battery. Something is active in the vehicle slowly draining it.

Two to three days max. Doesn't happen at home when parked longer. Could it be the alarm going off over and over draining the battery? I have no way to tell if this is happening, just a theory. Thanks.

Won't start as in dead battery

Won't start as in dead battery or turns over and won't start? So you apparently do get it started because you took it in all three times.....

Won't start as in wont turn over, dash will say key not present, then go totally black. One time, when I clicked unlock on fob, tail lights flickered, then dash board started fluttering before saying key not present, then ultimately going black. It's so bizarre. Jump start works fine and I'm on my way.

I have a 2014 Journey. I have random problems like the radio volume going up and down while parked or driving, radio screen going black, battery dying, not finding key fob, saying the car is not in park . But I have a feeling to find the problem I may be cheaper to get a different car? Am I right?
