Climate keeps coming on by itself

Hello,

I have a 2016 Dodge Journey.  It does not have the automatic setting on it, it only has the on/off button but no auto on it, I have the model with the small screen.  I recently was driving and my heat popped on I turned it off and it keep coming on by itself it did this several times, I took it to the Dodge dealership and they told me I need a replacement on/off knob so they ordered one and replaced it.  Its been about 2 weeks and today I'm driving and the heat pops on by itself again like 5 times, so apparently they did not fix my issue.  I heard several other people were heaving this issue as well has anyone else figured out how to fix it? I have an appointment to drop my car off at dodge again Monday but if they are just guessing then I don't think it will be fixed right.

They shouldn't be guessing.  If they don't know how to fix it at the shop, they contact the Chrysler engineers.  That's why you take it to a dealer for warranty (or uncommon problem) work instead of independent mechanics who have to rely on experience and manuals.

Also, you're (presumably) under warranty and they tried to fix it once already.

Anyone find a fix for this yet? So very annoying, I guess it's obvious I have same problem. Feels like I've seen dozens of sites talking about this issue but no one has posted solutions.

Hello,

I am dropping it off at the shop Friday again about the climate and I am hoping they look deeper into this time I am going to decline a knob change because I already know that is not the issue they should change the entire climate system out since many people are having this issue.  I will keep taking it back until the figure it out.  I seen many post on this as well but no one has seemed to find the correct fix.  I will keep you updated on the outcome.

As originally stated I took the car to Dodge and dropped it off for a week, they said it was a short in the back A/C controls they changed it out and I went and picked up my car.  Well a few days ago I was driving and surprise the A/C popped on while I was driving by itself again, so they didn’t fix it and at this point I’m not surprised.

well keep going back till they get it right, keep track of your paperwork and try to keep a good attitude as a good working relationship gets things done better than an adversarial one, i know it can be frustrating thing trying to get a problem fixed right the first time, but do remember that cars are getting harder and harder to work on these days with all the electronic gremlins that they seem to contain...
